  1. He won’t be as cheap as one can hope and as discussed before in other threads, there is a host of Safeties who are around the same age him and will cost around the same $. He got injured twice last year: leg then pectoral. Whilst it probably won’t be career hindering there’s guys who’ve been just as productive, if not more, and missed less time. Jordan Whitehead. Xavier McKinney. Kyle Dugger. Jeremy Chinn. Antoine Winfield Jr. Darnell Savage. Mike Edwards. They won’t all available of course but one or two will. I’d love Savage but there’s no way they let him walk out of GB. Same with Winfield in TB.
  2. Watch that final drive in OT… Focus solely on Bosa, now while that may have been Wilks’ scheme, it changed from how he was attacking and playing the edge from the rest of the game. How the highest paid defender in history is not having questions asked about the play there is peculiar… Nick did all the wrong things and played like a journeyman in the league.
  3. Again, they played their part but the offense had to score also. Josh and the offense was phenomenal that whole season.
  4. AFCC was lost on offense. Didn’t do squat after that 1st quarter until it was too late, a 31-15 hole. Defense played their part in it but you had to match that team offensively as it might have been their best season under Reid.
  5. Maybe, you never know. Sometimes the game is just perfectly called for either or both teams. And it was. Who knows who else could have scored that many against us let alone us scoring against their defense and scheme. That wasn’t where the game was lost. We’ve seen teams with lesser QB’s than Josh put up high scores and stats against the Chiefs. And regarding where the game was lost: that FG drive, any QBs completing those passes with that much space.
  6. Yeah, it’s tough to go against the best without your best or even 2nd best players for any team. Maybe you can get by and overcome missing one of your best but 2 or more from a fielded unit is a hard task. Greenlaw & Hufunga are borderline irreplaceable. Same goes for Tre, Milano, Von, Micah, Poyer and even Bernard this season. Sometimes too much is indeed too much. Tre with 3 years of serious injuries in a row is tough for him and the team. I know he came back for that 2022 post season but he wasn’t the same and was abused for portions of it. He’s a stud when healthy and on the field but that’s the biggest question…
  7. That’s fine. I think if you give any QB a 10/15 yard cushion the majority can make the 2 throws needed. Again, that’s just me. 👍
  8. No surprise the most is DBs, OLine, DLine and WR in a pass orientated league. QB also shows you the lack of talent, or belief of, through the past 5 years also.
  9. If they play the way they did on defense to the exact same tee, then yes. Doesn’t matter who was under center.
  10. I’d vote all three TBH. AFCC: Chiefs 13 seconds: Bills getting in their own way & bad luck Divisional: Bad luck with the injuries to Bernard & Benford. Every answer is right. 🤷‍♂️
  11. Guy wants all the targets and with that comes #1 money. Can’t just move Diggs or his contract to pay a guy the same if not more. Certainly can’t pay them both. Aiyuk, as good as he is/can be, is a pipe dream.
  12. If the Bills weren’t missing solely Bernard I don’t think they win. They didn’t have one of their LBs and didn’t have the dominant Tyreek Hill… Some bad execution and stalled out drives late in the game is what lost the Bills the game. Same for the 9ers. Chiefs don’t make mistakes when it’s all on the line, that irrespective of who’s on or off the field is tough to beat.
  13. That would be a wickedly awesome draft. Love Jaylon Collins, think he’s a solid player that can play as well as Rapp; decent backup safety at worse.
  14. That’s the fun part about these mocks. Speaking of UGA TEs… I know they’re not exactly the same mold but I’d hate to see the team that drafts him utilize him the way Pittsburgh do Washington… Not at all. Talent is absolutely there and needs to be given a chance.
  15. Great point on the full scope of perspective. I, personally, am not banking on that luck going our way. Multiple years in a row there’s been multiple injuries that crippled the fielded team at some point. Tre 2 years ago. Von last year. Tre and Milano this past one. Milano hurt the most this year. That combination of him and Bernard’s meteoric rise would have been special for the whole year. Definitely one of the best duos and up there with Smith/McQueen, Bolton/Gay & Warner/Greenlaw.
  16. Whether you like it or not, your HC should be the only ones who’s fingerprints are on the draft. The GM’s on trades and the owners on HC/Front Office. The coaching staff has to be able to select the people they believe and know will be best suited. It may end up bad or wrong but you can’t deny them the option to make the plan and vision they have as best a chance to succeed.
  17. That is a ridiculous number when you translate it to on-field product. Pretty fairly balanced overall though, looks like 50-40 and then 10% on ST. Need to do better of your shelling out that kind of money… I love Tre and Von but as has been discussed many-a-times on this board, there needs to be a huge change there; contract reduction or get it off the books unfortunately for players who can see the field. For both of their salaries you could get 4 quality players who would hopefully see the field; you’d at least double your chances of having someone else be able to step up if the “starter” gets injured… We also know they love their rotational depth so you’d have that working for you also.
  18. Love Bowers, he’s just a huge WR. The question would become if he was drafted is does he take away from King Cade’s role…? They’d have to be used in a similar fashion, which wouldn’t be a bad thing. Might be a problem with the contract, love and track record for Dawson Knox. Polk is an intriguing prospect and very similar to Brenden Rice. Would be a decent combo to select. Would rather they do something different with that first pick though if it ended up unfolding that way. 2¢
  19. Come on… Mahomes doesn’t throw anyone under the bus either. Never puts blame on the coaching staff or GM for the people he was throwing to. Exactly the opposite, stood up for them and believed in the course correcting itself… Something Josh does. Something a leader does. I’ve been in many leadership roles. Was a captain of both my football and American Football teams back in the UK… A leader looks at themselves first and asks what can I do better to help propagate, facilitate and improve to the team. Same as the current job I’m in… I don’t lambast, judge or critique people for their mistakes or failures in the workplace but try and come up with the solution where I am helping correct and resolve the problem behind closed doors. It’s obviously simpler and very different to how you handle problems. Sometimes someone can do more and say less to correct an issue. Self reflection has more value. Especially on a team or group.
  20. Im not saying it isn’t. Just that trading for a guy who hasn’t produced as a WR is. Again, trade Elam for someone on the defensive side who isn’t a system/scheme problem. WRs run routes and catch a ball. There isn’t a complexity to it. Draft a guy you can have the same cost control as Burks but for longer. He’ll produce somewhat here, I don’t deny that but that is solely because of Josh and Josh alone. There’s far more holes on the defensive side of things as half of that unit may not be here. CB for a DB or Dlineman is the better option.
  21. Listen man, if they cut ties with McDermott I’d like to say no to Shanny personally. If you’re going with a guy because of the success they’ve had in this league you go after the dark emperor if his year off makes him want to return to the league… I think Kyle is a good coach but that team is in a huge hole and lacking resources because of his requests to Lynch for acquisitions. They built a team for the past 3 years after their SB failure and never managed to get back until now. 2/3 years from now if the wheels start coming off and they can’t retain key players then is when Kyle Shannahan becomes available. To build a perennial contender, or dynasty in some cases, you keep your best assets of the future which is draft picks while trying not to splash of every shiny toy that is made available.
  22. Josh isn’t tough enough and needs the coaches help to get there? Wow. What an absolutely BS horrible take. Sorry to use that verbiage on something you believe in saying but that’s is just so falsely inaccurate… Youre talking about a guy who’s given this team an absolute turnaround in success, runs the ball, throws the ball, basically does everything he can for the team whilst knowingly understands, even if it’s subconscious, that this team could give and do more to help him reach the goal and successes he’s playing the game for. Instead, he says nothing and puts the team first. Never complains and always takes accountability and responsibility even when it isn’t necessary. If you think Josh doesn’t expect to win at this point in his career then you're delusional my friend. Someone can understand the reality of their expectations without showcasing it in the manner or ways you believe because of a coaching situation.
  23. I know he doesn’t. That was the joking jest regarding someone’s other topic about cutting ties with Tre. Burks is going into year three and is as pedestrian as they come in the NFL. He even got demoted from a starting role. Injuries may have played a part but They tried feeding him the ball and it didn’t work in year 1. The QB situation isn’t ideal there but there’s been plenty of mediocre talent who’s succeeded with just as bad or worse under center throwing them the ball over the course of the years in this league. Elam has had some value to this team in the limited times he’s seen the field if you don’t see that then that’s ok. However little it may be, it’s there. But if you’re point is he’s this trash player here why would another team trade a player you believe has all this potential in Burks, for a chance to “showcase” a CB??? Why not just get your own receiver, be it a day one or two guy in the draft if you aren’t able to pick someone who’s been more productive in the league for several years via FA to fill the role you’re expecting Burks to be put into…? If you’re trading Elam for anything, go do it for a defensive lineman or a DB that fits into the system you’re saying he doesn’t…
  24. No way man. Burks isn’t it. They willingly traded AJ Brown believing this guy would replace him. He hasn’t. He hasn’t even performed as a #2 on that team… Theres better options you can pick up on the FA market this year whilst keeping a CB IMO. With Taron picking up nicks along the year, Benford being injured and Douglas having some scares why not hang on to a guy who’s shown you flashes of promise when he’s played in that secondary? Plus, what if they have the guts to trade Tre?
  25. Nice to know Josh will have had two Jackets of achievement in his lifetime!
