Odunze or Nabers if Beane goes bananas

Giants at 6 or Bears at 9

IMO if we go after Thomas it’s got to be Seattle at 16

You know, as much as it would hurt down the road I’d be all for trading that far up if it landed Nabers or Odunze.

Personally, 16-20 range and landing Thomas Jr. would do nicely as a consolation prize.

Two of the least valued positions seeing old expensive vets hit the market? Not shocking

Might be but there is a slew of “big ticket” experienced players and excellent young talent at the same time for both positions. I’m not shocked, just haven’t seen the combination of multiple positions have both that criteria for a host of players.

  3. If it’s someone on the roster as of right now… Taylor Rapp if he steps into the starting role. Think he becomes a solid contributor and not the liability some people believe him to be.

A dark horse for me is Ja’Marcus Ingram. It was only preseason but he seemed to always be there in coverage and made some decent plays on the ball.

Would say Groot but I don’t think his season will be one where he “breaks out” but rather that he’s actually just seeing an increased volume of snaps.

Not on the roster right now… Whomever the receiver we draft. Be it in the first or fifth round.

Have you watched a lot of Pearsall and Wilson?

Not as much as Legette and Franklin, hence why I didn’t say above… But they were both more productive than Pearsall and Wilson…

Wilson played better competition but he wasn’t exactly dominating or the teams he faced. Alabama was his best game. Baker had a great season. Again, I have no problem them being in the same tier but a whole classification below is wildly absurd imo.

No way... huh????  Have you scouted all these players thoroughly and do you have a scouting background?

I agree it was eye opening that he put Pearsall, Wilson and Baker ahead of a bunch of guys everyone's talking about in the late first round, but it's quite possible we're the ones who are wrong.

No, I didn’t claim myself an expert but I’ve watched a lot of UofSC and Oregon games. Im fine with them being below the tiers 1 and 2 but I’d have him on par with at least Pearsall and Wilson at best. More so Legette as he didn’t bomb at the combine if that’s the basis and the guy was really the only option Rattler had. Productive against Florida and Georgia to boot even with double coverage…

I listened to Bruce Nolan's podcast and he has his WR rankings.  For those who don't know, he's been a writer and podcaster for Buffalo Rumblings for years and he knows his stuff.  Very knowledgeable in scouting.

He actually ranked his top 17 WRs in the draft and broke them into 5 tiers:

    Tier 1

    Marvin Harrison Jr.

    Malik Nabers

    Rome Odunze

    Tier 2

    Brian Thomas Jr.

    Adonai Mitchell

    Ladd McConkey

    Tier 3

    Ricky Pearsall

    Javon Baker

    Roman Wilson

    Tier 4

    Xavier Legette

    Xavier Worthy

    Ja'Lynn Polk

    Brendan Rice

    Troy Franklin

    Tier 5

    Malachi Corley

    Jalen McMillen

    Keon Coleman

Polk, Legette & Franklin a whole tier below Pearsall, Wilson and Baker….?!? 🤡

I know Franklin didn’t have a great combine but the tape doesn’t lie, there’s no way he’s a whole classification below those 3. Same with Legette.

Mack will end up a Bill before he retires. I just have had the feelings since draft day.

Not this year brother. He’s getting one last pay day after his 17 sack season… Be it a 1, 2 or 3 year deal.

IDK I'd like to hang onto Daquan. McDermott has always had a stable of vet DL guys to rotate, Id like to think we could find a way to keep him in the mix. I hope they do.

Honestly, I hope they acquire a guy that can play around 70%+ of the snaps and give Groot that chance too.

Better yet, I hope they are done with this whole mass rotation along the defensive line strategy. Just my 2 ¢.

I wonder if Von redid his deal in an attempt to help get Floyd back.  It’s a long shot but would love it if Beane can work this out along with a solid EDGE pick in round 1 or round 2.

Need for this one to be an absolute hit instead of the AJE/Groot/Oliver/Basham picks… I like Ed but he really took a few years to solidify himself as worthy of the #9. Groot I like also but he’s still relatively raw and needs extended play time.

Either way, with how it’s looking in terms of Edge guys on the roster, they need someone that high to be a 6-8 sack guy minimum year one.

EDIT:  Unless they feel there’s a guy like Floyd who can produce on a one year team friendly. Maybe Clowney but last year in Baltimore he might have priced himself out of availability to us. Danielle Hunter maybe?

    😂

I have, hence the “RBs and interior OLine”.

WRs, TEs and OTs are all journeymen. Same with QBs; Cousins & Mayfield are it. The only OTs worth anything out there have a load of games under their belt.

Good fit. Of the released guys he has taken over my favorite spot over Eddie Jackson and Rayshawn Jenkins. Any of those three guys would fit and are natural free safeties. I am guessing Simmons will be expensive.

Those other 2 might be better options in terms of $ to play. Both were pretty solid for the Bears and Jags.

You might even be able to get both for a little more than the same price you’d end up paying Simmons…

I mean, would be nice but I'd figure him to be way over our price point for the position.

Wonder how much the Broncos are still on the hook for with him…?

If they are eating some of that salary he could be had for a reasonable price to offset the contract he’d garner on the regular market. He might be opposed to a 1 year deal though… 🤔

  13. He’s still on the team, still in the doghouse and probably still won’t play. Need depth in the secondary which is why they’ll keep him around. Still have him for 2 more seasons on cost control and 5 if he somehow finds his way out of the first two stipulations and performs.

2 likely scenarios that could happen if that doesn’t transpire; he’s traded mid season or next year after years end.

Get to 40 mil in space and take a big swing.

    Chris Jones

Christian Wilkins (camp fights with Josh)

    DJ Reader

    Leonard Williams

    + Re-sign DQ.

Derrick Henry if he doesn’t sign with Ravens

    CB Jaylon Johnson?  only 24
We tried to acquire him at the trade deadline.

That would be super intriguing.  Benford or Rasul could move to Safety

    *Edit Franchise Tagged

Paying Chris Jones and Wilkins and Reader and Leonard Williams and Derrick Henry and trading for Jaylon Johnson who’s franchise tagged…?

Please give a detailed account as to how you’re paying all these guys with the limited cap space we are likely to have…

  15. Gilmore was actually pretty solid in Dallas last season, if you’re paying him the absolute bet minimum then you can’t be opposed to it. Only question becomes why even bother? He’s best as a man to man corner and the one we have already rides the bench and dog house for this team…

What am I missing about Milton? His scouting report is like a flashback to E.J. Manuel

Yeah I thought the same thing but watched tape; not highlights. The guy is absolutely a developmental prospect and that’s perfectly fine when you have a guy like Josh in control of your franchise.
