  1. Point wasn’t whether it mattered today or not. Point was the drafting of All-Pro talent. Which they have done. The statement of “role playing DB or backup” has to be saved for the end of this upcoming season as an evaluation. Still waiting to see what we got with him as he only played 8 games. If he goes back to 2021 form then yes, definitely overpaid. 2020? We’re good! There is a concern in the overall drafting, not so much for all-pro talent but solid and productive contributors within the first 3/4 rounds. Need those guys to turn into ones that can be counted on.
  2. If it isn’t Parnham, who else? Irv Smith???
  3. Drafting could be better. Could also be worse. Tre White & Milano don’t count as All-Pro?
  4. They won’t trade Simmons. He’s got 2 years left on a decent contract; presuming they pick up his option. You never know but one would think they wouldn’t throw Hopkins alongside him for Ed and a 2.
  5. Hopefully there’s another splash in the FA pool. Suemalo and Wagner would be nice! I don’t think Cameron Erving and Isaiah Wynn wouldn’t be bad additions to push Spencer Brown. LB wise? Something tells me Wagner is either going to get a decent from Dallas or return to Seattle. Failing him as an option, I would like to see Myles Jack, Perryman or Anthony Walker Jr. to that unit.
  6. The void might just be a FA DT if he is indeed moved. Michael Brockers or the guy from KC Nnandi(sp?) might do? Guess it’s going to be a case of him playing out the option year and then a decision is made… No fret as there is potential a slew of decent options going to be on the market; Quinnen Williams, Dexter Lawrence, Michael Pierce, Jeffrey Simmons, DJ Reader, Maliek Collins and Fletcher Cox Don’t think they’d want to take the burden of his finances to acquire him whilst sending young talent the other way.
  7. I get that. Hence the reference to his Dallas days and not last year. The likelihood, if any, is a post June cut. Do we wait that long to bring in another rotational player to compete? Tough question. Point I was making is Brown is now the LT. Who knows what you get at their LG or RT play from here on out. Collins at least had success playing guard next to Tyron Smith. Maybe they plug him there again and Brown elevates his play?
  8. Maybe he was just being a Pratt…?
  9. Liked the kid coming out of college but Coach summed it up best, post injury is pretty rough. There’s a reason Pitt isn’t clamoring to sign the guy. Given some of these contracts floating around. Do you want to pay 10m a year?
  10. Does Cinci really just get rid of this guy though? Contract is very reasonable. Just walked in the door last year and played extremely well in Dallas as a Guard. He has maneuverability on the line… Played both tackle and guard above average.
  11. Taylor to the Chiefs is a huge gamble. They paid more than Cinci for Brown and honestly, that’s a lot for a guy who has really exclusively played as a RT. Brown wasn’t the best LT out there but he was solid in Baltimore and KC. Rodgers to the Jets is a coin flip. We can live with last years performance. If he reverts back to the years prior? Problem. Miami concerns me more for these next 2 years. They better do something in that window or these contracts are going to blow up in their face.
  12. Current Andy Dalton wouldn’t have us in that playoff game. 🤷‍♂️
  13. Past players? Toss up between 3: McCargo / Mike Williams / Maybin The experiment of these 3 panning out lasted too long. Especially before the wage scaling was a thing. Currently? It’s really a pricing issue. Matakevich, Siran Neal & Taiwan Jones. There’s a few others that people can list but when they’re making as much/more than some of the underperforming likes of McKenzie, Basham & Epenesa that people have an issue with whilst exclusively playing STs… Yeah.
  14. That few years of LBs had so much potential. The Browns. Bradham. Kiko. Brandon Spikes. Manny Lawson. Keith Rivers. Arthur Moats. Oooof.
  15. Not a huge fan of Jeudy, not a hater either. He’s talented and could help the team. The draft picks also could. Big supporter of fixing this offensive line for Josh and giving both him and the run game an elevated chance of success - Starters and depth (which is obviously the McGovern signing) to see where we are. RT is a question as are both guard spots. You then have Morse due for another concussion. Just a lot of pieces that are up in the air and could have cost controlled fixes. If we still need that piece to take us where we believe Jeudy would, then there’s got to be a team that would move a guy during the season; maybe even him if he isn’t traded and the wheels have come off for Denver again prior to the trade deadline. For Josh and essentially the team… I, personally, feel he’d benefit more from better all around line play than another toy. The old adage of “a QB can make a WR” comes to mind. Josh has and can dominate with just one bonafide star. Protect the franchise.
  16. So with the clock ticking in this saga what team/s do you think, if any, send an offer Lamar’s way? Commanders? Snyder’s big F.U. pièce de résistance To the NFL? Won’t have to pay the contract if he’s phased out.
  17. Networking more often than not is #1. There can be isolated cases but these connections bring more than just a playing contract. Rose hay’s is a perfect example you reference. 👍
  18. The offers, from what have been reported, look absolutely reasonable. It’s business. Both sides want to see them get maximum value from their target area/price. Some times you got to give a little… Something Lamar seems totally unwilling to do. Definitely don’t agree with it but again like the previous post, the reasons are understandable as to why he’s being so stubborn.
  19. Worked out for Roquon Smith within the same organization… 🤷‍♂️
  20. Just keep playing on the tags then 😂
  21. The sticking point becomes injuries. You have to feel that’s the only reservation Baltimore is having in fronting all of that money. On the dichotomy of the guaranteed money… Makes sense why Lamar is pushing for it. You have a QB out there who got it. You’re the cornerstone to that franchise’s current success. Who knows how long you’ll play or if you’ll ever even complete 16/17 games a season again.
  22. Similar to Levi then???
  23. With the cap hits down the road and holes to fill in the roster, keeping draft picks and shedding under performing players is essential. Acquiring and/or keeping draft stock is the biggest focal point for building a perennial contender. An Oliver trade would be ideal… No way you’re getting picks #65 AND #73 from any team. If Oliver was a fringe All-Pro? Absolutely. Given he’s on his last year without proving to be absolutely essential to a defense that’s status graded well over the past few years makes me, personally, unable to see a team giving up anything more than a late 3 (absolute dream) or a 4th rounder as they’ll want to resign or extend him to competitive deal if he plays well for them. #104 is the more likely if they are unwilling to give up that later 3rd.
  24. The most proven out of the LB’s. Think he has another season of production in him, maybe 2. Also believe there’s a couple others out there that can be just as useful for the defense; Anthony Walker or Deion Jones. Denzel Perryman is an interesting one too. Would hope they take a look at Devin Bush but I think he either returns to Pittsburgh or heads to Washington. If it isn’t Lavonte, who’s your next option?
