I would rather have Henry at $8M than Barkley at $12M.  So not sure what the Eagles were thinking if they could have had Henry for 2/3rds the price.

I mean, I get it to an extent; Saquon is a absolute 3 down back that isn’t overlooked in the passing game. Henry, whilst a beast in his own right, isn’t that dynamic a receiving threat.

Probably had to pay more than anyone else to secure his services?

Agree as far as depth is concerned but if he's our starting safety opening day I'm gonna lose it.

I think we should wait and see… The majority of us fans were all highly concerned about Bernard being the starter next to Milano entering last season… Look how that worked out. Guy was a stud for us. Sometimes all it takes for a player to get it is to sit and wait for their shot…

Lewis has had some suspect play but that’s expected in adjusting to the league where you’re not an exceptional athlete or savant of the game’s mental aspect.

Cam Lewis is one of the best bottom end depth players you can get in the league.. just his experience in McDermott scheme gives him so much flexibility and safety and slot corner and special teams

The back half of an NFL roster.. number 45-52... Is typically back half roster guys who get turned around yearly

Having cohesion and he can make plays... Is certainly better than another teams 50th back end player who has to learn the system

Cam is liked in the locker room and by the staff.. and if a rookie beats him out they certainly won't keep cam over him

At least when the birds are in the bush they aren’t sh—ing in your hand…

After the giant cap dump of White, Poyer, Morse, Bates (trade), Harty, and Hines coupled with the loss of Davis, Dobson, Floyd and possibly Jones to free agency it was pretty clear the Bills were going younger and cheaper for this coming season. Thank G-d.

However the moves created roster holes at C, 2 starting safeties, Edge rusher, DT and boundary WR, among other depth issue.  With 11 draft picks, you have to figure that much of the needed depth was going to through the draft.  Add that both OTs were on one year deals, and both starting CBs are on one year deals, you start to get a feel for where our draft priorities maybe.

However, Beane has already erased many of the starting needs by moving McGovern to center and re-signing Edwards to replace McGovern at guard.  He has extended Dawkins to lock one of the two starting OTs.  He has also re-signed Rapp and Epenesa to fill starter openings at S and Edge.  These moves leave one starting safety job open and one starting DT still available.  He also re-signed Trubisky to be Josh's backup for the next two years.

Besides the two D starters, what these moves haven't done yet is fill the depth needs at RB, or finding at boundary WR, or added further depth along the D Line.

How do these moves affect the draft?  One note: Losing the 3rd rd comp pick is a real kick in the ........  I wouldn't be surprised to see Beane use some picks to get back into the 3rd round.

QB - I can see a QB drafted late to serve as a developmental player.

RB - Beane likes to draft RBs and there are some interesting RBs who will be available on day 3.  I'd also still like to see Ty Johnson return.

WR - I don't see Davis' replacement coming through free agency.  I expect our 1st pick to be a WR.  I'm also hoping they take another guy late, but that may depend on how they

            feel about Shorter.

OL - I thought center was going to be a sneaky need, but now we could see an OG earlier than thought to compete with Edwards for the starting job.  I can also see a

developmental OT on day 3 especially if they aren't happy with Doyle, Anderson or Van Denmark long-term.

DL - The Epenesa signing gives us 5 DL heading into next season in Oliver, Rosseau, Miller, Espensa, and Jonathan.  I think they like Cline as well.  Still that's 3 short of the team's

needs.  I'm expecting at least one DT and one Edge player in the draft, as well as another FA or two.  Re-signing Jones or finding a FA replacement has to be a priority as

Beane and McD like to rotate rookies in on the Dline.

LB - We need a late round guy to play special teams.

CB - Lewis is a special teamer and I think they have hopes Elam improves enough to take over for Douglas in a year.  Still Johnson is still on the last year of his deal and we need           at least one developmental player in case Johnson leaves and/or Elam doesn't develop

S - I'd like to see two guys

If I had to guess right now. (No idea after that)

28 - WR - Mitchell, Thomas, McConkey etc...

    60 - S - Bullard, Kitchens, Bullock

    127

    133

    143

    159

    162

    188

    199

    203

    248

Good post, would absolutely hate it if they gave up a 3rd rounder for a year and a half of Douglas to hold Elam’s, a first rounder, spot as a boundary CB… Hope they keep him around unless he absolutely bombs in play quality this year.

not having that 3rd hurts a bit. We’d need to do  28, 60 and a 2nd next year to move up somewhat high

    I’d honestly hope they hold on to 60… do 28, 133, 159 and a 1st & 4th next year to get to the early/mid-teens.

Don’t think that gets it done though.

Seen teams accept less though lol

Hopefully it’s team friendly as he’s getting up there in age…

Hopefully the reported deals for Savage, McKinney, Jones, Byard and even Geno Stone are all more than what we’d pay him…

    Somehow I think someone’s going to give him $8m+ a year…

I think they considered Nick Mullins higher on their depth chart than Josh Dobbs, and when Mullins got healthy he moved back ahead of Dobbs.

JMO, neither Josh Dobbs nor Nick Mullins are a long term answer.

The Vikings draft when?  11th?  Who can they likely get at that point?

Yes, 11. Got to think a trade up unless they’re comfortable and believe Daniels will fall to them?

Could even play a waiting game until the second round in the hope McCarthy or Nix make it that far. Could go Penix Jr.

A lot of options for them that are better than what’s left on the scrap heap of QB FAs.

I can't keep up.  Who do the Vikings have throwing the ball at the moment?

His payday from Minnesota and now from the Falcons does not say "underrated".

Didn’t they trade for Josh Dobbs then switch to Nick Mullins after it wasn’t working as well as they hoped…?

Tannehill, Darnold or Tyrod are pretty much the only guys left on the market who you would think about being a consideration to start a game…

Pretty much a foregone conclusion they’re in the market for a QB this draft… Did they miss out on Russell Wilson?

And in 3 other games vs Chiefs 0 sacks, 1 QB hit, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT, and 1 TFL.  But hey, those games, which Steelers went 1-2 in, just don't matter I guess.

Which is why I specified meaningful…

One of those 3 was against Alex Smith and another he got injured half way through the game and didn’t return…

This is a playoff team. One that beats Mahomes in the regular season yet lose come playoffs.

So for 2 and a half games he has:

6 tackles, 4 QB hits, 3 TFLs, 1 sack, 1 TD. The majority of which happened when it was win or go home.

FF & FR are on the low end for the 104 career games; 27 & 10.

But hey, post season games mean the same as regular season I guess.

He is the biggest WR “name” left ..other than Ridley who Is too expensive

I mean, I get it. I just don’t know why there isn’t the hammering of the table for guys who are just as productive and will just as much or less… Curtis Samuel, Tyler Boyd, DPJ, Noah Brown… Even that Agnew kid.

Eh, to each their own I guess.

Ok maybe Samuel, but Hollywood is as much a consistent mention around here as Ridley.

We could trade for TJ Watt and it wouldn’t stop Mahomes

TJ Watt is 100% shutting Mahomes down, come on man. Guy shows up everywhere; TFLs, Pressures, QB hits, Sacks & Tackles…

These are his career averages per game (104 in total):

    Sacks: .928

    Tackles: 3.85

    TFLs: 1.09

    QB Hits: 1.9

That’s a difference maker. You might be sarcastic, but it doesn’t seem so. Let TJ Watt loose and he’s going to do damage.

The one and only time he’s met Mahomes & the crew in a meaningful game he had:

1 sack, 3 QB hits, 2 TFLs and scored a defensive TD.

He's not that guy and he's not being paid to be that type of guy. If he has a similar season to last I'll be happy.

Oh ok. Didn’t realize that. So the guy we lost who’s being paid a few $m more p/y to get sacks out in SF is what then?

He needs to do more IMO. The guy played 40+% of the defensive snaps in the final 7 weeks, 2 games of which he was inactive. He didn’t do much in that period; not more than 1 tackle and no more than 1 pressure/hurry in that same time frame. The only play that he really contributed on was the great tip to himself for an INT on Mahomes…

If he’s going to play that high a % of snaps at a premium position on defense I think it’s fair to expect him to perform better than he has for the simple reason he’s capable of it.

Not wanting mediocrity for a guy playing nearly half the snaps is fair imo. Especially when a guy is routinely crucified on the offense for sub par play on a high snap %…

Yeah, I think he’s best suited as a complimentary piece and we relied too heavily on him being the guy after his start to the season. They should expect him to produce with Bosa opposite.
