We have JA17. 30 of 31 other teams would kill for this position.
You know what’s wild is the amount of fans out there than don’t even see Josh as a top 5 QB…”Typical team fan thinking your guy is better than they really are”
Had a guy at Giant Eagle a few months back say Josh isn’t even top 10… 🤨😂
I can’t remember them all but he said Jackson, Herbert, Dak and Goff were all better. Yeah, ok.

The more I see from Walker, the more I like.
Him, Polk, McMillan & Burton seem like decent guys to get if they go a different direction from WR early or choose to pick up a second guy at that position.

I get that people want to find something good about Elam’s performance to indicate improvement. And it was the last game we saw him in since he didn’t play against KC. But I can’t get excited about one game against Mason Rudolph. Again, hang onto him, coach him up, hope for the best, but anything we get from him is a bonus to me.
Well teams try and attack a weak link in a defense and Elam made plays. That’s certainly something to be excited over regardless of the team and QB. -

If an NFL team has more than 3 freakazoids, that's a good team.
I say we have ONE, but my definition of freakazoid is a first ballot HOFer.
I think that’s fair. If not a HOF, multiple All-Pro.
Ed and Milano are the only guys who stand a chance right now.
Cook, Kincaid, Groot and Cyrus have the potential.

Rousseau if he was more consistent.
Hopefully.
Like others have said, which is sad, it’s only Josh.

I mean, then it's not really a "home" opener. The home opener would be the 2nd home game on their schedule. Both teams basically road teams in Brazil.
Still a home game you lose… Especially opening weekend which makes it worse. Opening weekend is as close to the playoffs in terms of atmosphere. At least to me.
New season and everyone’s hyped. Sure they still have a “home opener” but again, you’re taking that away from opening week. That’s a joke IMO.

What a joke that a teams fans lose the home opener to the season. Absolute let down.

Worthy, McMillan & Bishop as your second, third and fourth picks would be legit.
Rather see them walk away with a defender if they’re skipping the offense with the first pick.

Telling that we dont have anyone on the team willing to get into guys' faces other than Stef Diggs.
That’s fair and a legitimate concern.
Again, I have no problem with them trying to light a fire under another player. Week 1 for a successful team shouldn’t be happening.

Some snap. Some console. Some retire. haha.
Gist is that it happens. And who cares really. I'm not about to start throwing crap on a WR that brought this team a TON of success and excitement over the last bunch of years.
The media is just bored.
I don’t. Just reading into what’s being reported it’s quite the thing to be saying to the guy who’s carrying the franchise the very first week.
What I actually care about regarding this type of event is if anyone got into Diggs’ face after the multiple let downs in big moments over the course of the past 3 playoffs. Especially our elimination game against the Chiefs this past season where he was targeted 8 times for 3/21/0, 2 drops.
Guy let potentially the biggest play of the game go through his hands to start the final drive where the FG was missed.
I doubt it anyone did.

Players snap at other players all the time. This is all nonsense.
Week 1 of the season? Ha!Diggs was the only one per the report… That in itself is telling.
Everyone else? Consoling Josh and essentially telling him we got this/his back.

He mentioned that in the podcast video someone linked in another thread.
Not a huge fan of Tim Graham but he has my respect for keeping that under wraps, especially for the whole season, and not outing a potential rift in the QB/WR dynamic that has had so much success for our team.

Then you end up with just benefits. Diggs coming back for a bit of fun next season then? -

This is a what have you done for me lately league. Who was the better player after week 6 last season Diggs or Shakir? The stats and the eye test say Shakir.
Maybe Diggs is reborn in the Houston offense, but he is no longer the player we saw 3-4 years ago.
3-4 years ago? I’d even take the player we saw last year even if it was primarily the first 9 weeks. That’s just me though. -
If Diggs is a cancer wait until you get a load of that guy…
Curtis Samuel is just as good.

History says they would be pretty similar. He was elite with Alex Smith.
Yeah, you’re right somewhat. But is he having the continued success after Alex Smith; a la Pat Mahomes?
He’ll be productive. No doubt. Don’t think he’s coming away with the average of 100 Rec’ / 1238 Yds / 8.6 TDs…
That’s a huge average for a WR, let alone a TE.QB and system over 6 years versus the following over 4: 76.8 Rec’ / 975 Yds / 5.5 TDs with Alex Smith.
Still elite numbers but not otherworldly like the ones with Mahomes/Reid.
QB matters.

What about DHop? A meager $13M salary. Plus the guy has hands. IMO he is currently better than Diggs.
Drafting a WR is necessary. Relying on the rookie WR is risky.
Yeah that would be a solid option.
Those guys I was talking about are those marquee guys people are clamoring a trade for who’s salaries are/would be huge.
I absolutely agree with you about the risk factor involved but looking back at all the recent drafts there is a plethora of guys who have come in immediately and produced every single year since 2017.
2017 and 2019 have produced some solid guys, just not in the early rounds.
2022 and 2021 had some great players. Solid players who appear to be home runs all throughout the draft.
It’s dependent on one thing IMO; the QB.
Coaching staff plays their part, sure, but a QB is delivering the on field results.
Take the first 10 WRs from years draft; Quentin Johnson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zay Flowers, Jordan Addison, Johnathon Mingo, Jayden Reed, Rashee Rice, Marvin Mims, Tank Dell & Jaylin Hyatt.
Out of those 10 they all performed to a reasonable standard. The one that comes out on top? Rashee Rice… His QB? The consensus best in the league
I honestly think you double dip this year at the position. Josh is talented enough to at least help one of them into something of worth for our team.

DK Metcalf. Justin Jefferson. Brandon Aiyuk. Tee Higgins…
Cant see us trading for any of those guys given the $ value that will be attached. Especially after absorbing all that dead money from Stefon.
Drafting WRs is the solution, sorry to break it to you.

The thing that bothers ME, if anything, is this:
When Diggs was a Bill, all we heard about was how he was a diva, a malcontent, a headache, and was maybe showing his age last year and no longer a number one receiver.
Now that he's a Texan, he's the weapon that's gonna put them over the top, they're favorites in the AFC, he's still a #1 WR, and the Bills got fleeced.
Like...which is it? Pick a lane.
Year one is always blissful. Probably even more so that they voided his remaining contract years…Diggs will play nice, do all he can to get himself another contract come 2025.
No one walks into a new job or employer with a sour taste to the “fresh start”. Even more so if they did indeed want “out”.- 1

Would rather they hold on to 60 personally and move up to the teens and get a possible falling Odunze or Thomas Jr.
Nabers looks to be the real deal but there’s a lot of talent in this draft that would even allow you to double dip if you can hang on to 60. They likely wont, but you never know.
Just now, Logic said:
I understand your point of view.
Personally, I think we've seen what it's like to have a bunch of good to above average players and not enough GREAT players on the roster. It gets us to the Divisional round, and then we lose to a team with more GREAT players.
Me? I want more GREAT players around Josh Allen, and Nabers has the potential for greatness.
Give me one elite, blue chip playmaker with the potential for GREATNESS over a handful of potentially GOOD players, all day long and twice on Sundays. That’s actually a reasonable stance and I can’t go against the logic you’ve displayed here.

What are the “couple of speculations that you came across”?
Would be interesting for us to know to compound strength to your perspective.
Please and thank you.

Chicago is the only top 10 team who I can see would as they will likely want more this year. Which means you’re giving up 60 to get there.
