Levy was 0-4 in Super Bowls, McDermott cannot go 0-4 vs KC
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s an impossible task. The 4 SB losses are too imbedded into the sports fans psyche. It’s impossible to not associate one with the other. It will only be cured with a championship. Otherwise, expect to hear it every single time the Bills get deep into the playoffs (playoffs!??!) I think it’s one of the most interesting sports lores in general. Josh Allen the savior of the Buffalo Bills drafted from Wyoming of all places comes & restores glory to a defeated franchise and city. It’s straight out of a movie. WINNING cures everything. Just go and win then the association w/ the 90s teams will stop. -

Please do. I’m not emotionally prepared for a loss. It’s going to send me into a spiraling depression and alcoholism most likely. Please win for the sake of my mental health, Sean. -
The only gaffs McD made was okaying the shotgun option play instead of putting Josh right behind center and powering it in. Otherwise, he coached an immaculate game. I thought the Ravens game was intense, the AFC Championship is going to take literal years off of my life. I kind of figured Buffalo would lose the last time we went there, but this is the most confident I’ve ever been as a Bills fan. I wasn’t alive during the first ones. For us young (ish) Bills fans, this is it. All the losses, all the heartbreak, and here we are on the brink of glory. It will either be the best moment of my life or the worst. I am not mentally prepared for the latter. All my chips are in for a win.

Thank you. Who gives a crap? As long as they keep winning it really doesn’t matter if he has 0 catches or 15. They’ve ran the ball so well and I hope they continue to do so. They put up 27 points (actually 30 since they were in FG range at the end of the game) where Josh threw for 127 yards and 0 TDs ! That is insane. Look at it like a game of Chess. If you can beat up your opponent without using your queen and putting it at risk then why not? Like you said, when the matchup is there, Brady will exploit it. Cooper will have his number called at some point. We are one game away from the Super Bowl. Take that in for a minute. Buffalo will utilize whatever weapons they have to get to the promise land.

I think Lamar is overrated in the sense that he’s not on the level of the big 3 (Allen, Burrow, Mahomes.) He is right on the fringes though and well worth the money they paid him which was very controversial at the time. I don’t think he will be playing at a high level into his mid-late 30s like the current top guys. He’s just too overly reliant on his athleticism. Allen can run it with the best of them and it certainly opens things up, but he’s more reliant on power than pure speed, and he can do things w his arm that no one else can. His athleticism was a complete afterthought during the draft process. Lamar needs an offense tailored to his skill set whereas Allen will thrive in pretty much any system. I am 100% positive all 32 GMs would take Josh over Lamar

I’ve noticed this too. The Bills usually end up getting the first so not much attention is paid to it, but they seem to routinely get shorted a 1/2 to 1 full yard on a lot of plays. And challenging the spot of the ball seems to never work either.

The national media narrative since the Bills won
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s very strange. It’s like a foregone that the Ravens would’ve took it to OT. Buffalo would’ve played it safe and took time off the clock, but given 3 chances I think Josh would’ve launched a missile to Shakir down the middle to get into the 45 yard range. There’s no reason to think Bass would’ve missed. -

Exactly. They Do care. Listen to Allen’s post game speech. KC is in for a rude awakening. The Bills run game is even better this year. If they can open holes against Baltimore then they shouldn’t have any problems w KC. I love that Brady has stuck w the run. Everybody thought the Ravens were going to shut it down and Josh would have to be Superman. Even myself. -

They are also saying the 1 penalty is the result of favoritism and the “fix.” Gladly ignoring the amount of flag free holding the Ravens committed -
So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
I disagree. If McDermott brings a championship to Buffalo then he could follow it up w/ 5 losing seasons and still have a job. -
Is that the Ravens LOST the game. Let’s not give credit to Allen playing and the offense playing mistake free, let’s not give the Bills defense credit for forcing 3 turnovers, or for holding Henry to 84 yards. Oh yeah, and the BEST one is everyone acts like the game was going to be a Ravens win if Mark Andrews catches that 2 point conversion. People conveniently forget that Buffalo still had 1:33 left on the clock and 2 time outs in their pocket. I’m putting all of my money on Allen to generate 40 yards of offense to get into FG range with that much time. If I’m being perfectly honest, the Bills would’ve put the game out of reach long before any of that if they just snuck it in w/ Allen, but I’ve beaten that horse to death. Lamar apologists and Ravens fans just can’t control themselves. Lamar Jackson himself gave the Bills credit. Good teams create their own luck by studying film and knowing where to be along w/ fundamentals which McDermott preaches like the Bible. It wasn’t a “lucky” win nor did the Ravens shoot themselves in the foot. The Bills defense has been absolutely nasty the entire season turning the ball over. Their TO differential is ridiculous. It should be a valid concern for every team they go against. .

AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs haven’t scored over 30 all season. If Buffalo gets over 24, I think they can take it. -
My money is on Josh to pick up 40 yards w/ 1:33 and two time outs. Don’t need large plays. That’s plenty of time to methodically get down the field 5-7 yards at a time. Plus you know Allen would break off a couple big runs. People act like OT was all but certain. Buffalo is one of the best 2 minute offenses in the game, we just tend to see that the end of the 1st half opposed to the 4th quarter.

Tush Push unlikely to get us 2 yards ? Seems like they get over 5 yards every time. It was a stupid sequence. Let’s just be happy we escaped w/ a win and that Brady learned something. If the Bills are less than 5 yards away from the end zone and have 2 plays available, it should be a sneak every time. I don’t recall the Bills ever getting stopped on a QB sneak. Even with penetration, Josh is always able to break through on pure determination alone. And a game as important as this you know he would’ve been able to get it done. No point in moving the ball even further back from the LOS. I’ll go to my grave w my opinion

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
There are only so many balls to go around (pause) when your QB throws it 16 times plus as someone mentioned earlier, Kincaid was probably in the dog house for that drop. Seems like the Bills like to mix it up week to week as far as who gets more passes. Shakir is the only one who seems to get any consistent production every week. Can anyone really complain? We are going to the AFC championship game w/ a relatively healthy offense. I think this is because not one guy is getting too beat up. I expect Kincaid and Cooper are going to have massive games next week. We need our stars to shine. -
Taron Johnson didn’t have his best game, but he was FAR from a liability. I think he will have a huge bounce back against the Chiefs. He always plays well against them. Plus, he won’t have to be as concerned about defending the run and QB scrambling like he did for Lamar. Mahomes has wheels and should always be accounted for in that department, but Lamar is perhaps the best pure runner we have ever seen at the QB position. TJ can now play his natural position next week

That’s a good question. That was the definition of a team win.

People were hyping up the Bernard/Milano duo all off-season. Injuries derailed that and I was almost certain Dorian Williams was going to overtake the starting role for good. I figured Milano would end up going the Tre White route. The Ravens were his coming home party. He had his best game I have seen post-injury. The stats don’t tell the whole story. He was flying all over the field and was around the ball constantly. Milano looked FAST and delivered some crushing blows to Lamar Jackson, I think he had 3 QB hits overall. The timing and pure speed on his blitzing looked phenomenal. Those type of hits in that freezing temp can really screw w/ a QBs mind. With Dorian Williams as depth, the Bills are in great shape going into the AFC Championship. We are going to need the LBs to be on their A game when containing Mahomes. I’ll say one thing, Kelce & KCs other TEs aren’t going to be abusing our defense like last post-season. They aren’t nearly as physical on offense as the Ravens. Hopefully, the Bills aren’t too beat up from last Sunday. I know the Chiefs have been our arch nemesis in the playoffs, but getting past Baltimore was our real test. I don’t think they will beat the Chiefs handily by any stretch, but I think it will be a decisive win that won’t come down to the last minute. This is assuming the refs call a clean game which is far from a guarantee. Welcome back Milano and GO BILLS. 🏆💪

I think Hamlin has played above everybody’s expectations this year. He is going to be fantastic depth/rotational player for years to come.

Dawkins, Brown, and McGovern are all stars in my eyes. They have transformed this offense from a finesse unit into a straight up bully. They are easily the most well rounded line in the NFL and the true engine of this offense. Much more credit needs to go to them. But they do feel different. When has a Bills team ever been able to have success running the ball against a team like the Ravens D? Not since the 90s. I for sure thought this was a game where Josh was going to have to put the cape on at some point. He had like 150 total yards and 2 very short rush TDs. His presence alone opens things up for sure, but this was a team win. It's like a game of Chess and we haven’t even used our queen yet.

Chiefs favored -1.5 opening line
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Chicagobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs defense is no where near the caliber of Baltimore. I expect the Bills to score a lot of points next week and I don’t think Mahomes will be able to keep up against a healthy Bills defense that are built to stop him.
