True and yes, it IS hard to maintain that strategy. A great passing offense requires less players to maintain good production, you just need a handful of core players like elite QB, 2 great receivers, (TE or WR) LT, and Center. Obivously there are exceptions, but generally u can be a perennial playoff team if u are strong @ these positions. With your Brady and Manning's you just need a line that can block for 3 seconds. For a power running offense and elite defense it requires so many different working parts to stay elite. Generally, elite defensive Superbowl caliber teams have a 2-4 year window to compete. Seattle's legion of boom for example. They had their 3 year run, went to a couple Superbowls, and fortunately got one title out of it (2 if their idiot coach ran Lynch instead of throwing it at the 3 yard line.) After that they lost players to free agency and aging. They've gone a different route and got themselves a true elite #1 and built their offense into a dominant passing one. It's easier to build a great defense than it is to find an elite QB (see the Bills all throughout the drought) but I feel like an elite defense comes around once or twice a decade so both are equally rare. Teams w/ elite offenses have a 10-15 year window to win titles so it makes much more sense to find your franchise QB.

Etienne thought he was going to be a Bill

I have to admit that it would be more of a splash pick and I'd be way more excited, but they did the right thing in the end. I think it's a win if just one the top 2 edge rushers becomes a great pick. -
Bills sign DT Treyvon Hester

Happy 25th birthday, Josh Allen!

Holy COW! I have the same birthday as Josh Allen? How tf did I not know this? 😦 -
Hopefully they learn from the AFCG like they learned from "Hail Murray." McDermott doesn't strike me as a person that makes the same mistake twice. This was a hugely emotional loss and they are going to build from it. 3 edge rushers from the top 2 rounds this and last year is a start + the experience playing in big games. I think we will look back @ that game as the first stepping stone to the Buffalo Bills dynasty. (Yes, I'm a Homer.)

The bills caught lightning in a bottle TWICE w/ both Josh Allen and McDermott. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remind me that I'm not dreaming. 😅 Unfortunately, I was a toddler during the Superbowl years so I never got to experience them. I started as a die hard Bills fan @ the onset of the drought so all I knew was misery. The silver lining of all of this is that I do not take their success for granted @ all. I soak in all of the joy of each and every win. No matter how up & down life can be sometimes at least we have consistency and greatness at One Bills Drive. God Bless Buffalo! ✝️🕯️🙏

Another Sonic Youth fan on a football forum 😦 Imagine that! Kim Gordon is actually originally from Rochester which is cool bc that's where I was born. Thurston did her dirty though. I would never cheat on someone as beautiful as her. Anyways, lmao definitely one of the most underrated & original sounding bands of all time. They were so ahead of their time that people are still trying to catch up.

Tyrod is good if you want to go .500 in a season (actually that's not possible anymore, but u get the point.) If your team has a great defense/special teams/running back u could squeeze out a wildcard if the planets align and u get help from other teams. All of this is possible, but I just don't see the point and why teams think this way. They need a new franchise QB and they're better off tanking it. I don't get why teams sign guys capable enough just to break even and lose out on a top QB in the draft. If you already have your guy then a bridge QB like Fitz or Taylor can be a valuable teaching tool. If the Texans were in a long playoff drought like Cleveland and Buffalo a few years ago then I understand trying to compete @ all costs to give the fans some hope, but @ this stage they are better off sacrificing their season and thinking ahead for the future. Just my 2 cents go as far as signing "bridge QBs" BEFORE u have your future guy.

Mac Jones vs Zach Wilson
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a Bills fan, I would love to see Cam Newton to start for New England opposed to Jones. MJ seems to me the most pro-ready guy minus Lawrence and I think with a strong defense they can get to 8-8 - 9-7. I'm just not sure if his ceiling is high enough. McCarron also had a stellar career at Alabama and besides being more physically imposing I'm wondering what else Jones can bring to the table. If he can at least be average then New England will be able to compete. -
Based on what? Your opinion? You have zero credibility. Yes, I will be okay. I'm a Bills fan and I hope every player the Pats ever draft busts. But in life and not just football, I like to base my opinions on historical outcomes & common sense. Just because some late round project QBs the Pats took a flyer on in the past never became all-stars doesn't mean I'm going to automatically assume Mac Jones is going to be a bust. Maybe he does and maybe he doesn't, but your opinion is nothing more than a ****ing guess so stop acting like u know wtf's going to happen in the future like your smarter than their front office. 🤮 I'm done arguing w/ u and your trollish tactics. It's one thing to disagree w/ someone, but it's another to act like a know-it-all, pompous douche. I'm making a mental note to ignore future posts from u. ✌️

You're right on those 01-04 drafts 💯 going back on rechecking them and holy cow, they nailed multiple picks during that small window. HOF worthy= Matt Light, Asante Samuel, Richard Seymour, Vince Wilfork Pro-Bowlers = Dan Koppen, Jarvis Green, Ty Warren, Ben Watson, Deion Branch Solid Starters/Role players= David Givens, Tuli Banta-Cain That is very impressive regardless of what team you're a fan of and it throws the the "Patriots suck @ drafting" theory right out of the window. 90% of those guys went on to become core players on those Superbowl teams.

Wow, this post was truly insightful! You absolutely changed my opinion w/ your amazing persuasion and ability to support your claims w/ things like facts and examples. Your knowledge of football is clearly off the charts. Thank u for your contributions to this board. If only we had more members like u. 🙏

Yeah, absolutely I give credit to "Antoine" Smith. 1100 yards is great production for a RB. Imagine having someone like that on the Bills. They would've won the Superbowl. Nobody is kneeling to anybody. If anything, you're on Brady's nuts by giving him full credit for everything. I actually watched those Patriot games b/c I try to stay knowledgeable of the rest of the AFC East teams, I didn't read about them like u probably did 🙄
