Yeah, I respectfully disagree. Maybe for other QBs, but Allen makes these kinds of plays every game. It’s his trademark. There’s a reason that he’s known as the most athletically gifted passer on the planet.

Absolutely no doubt on my mind that he will have at least 2 before it’s all said and done. McD truly showed how important good coaching and stability is for a team that has lacked both for decades. Thank God Marrone left or we might still be stuck in futility.

Doug Pederson got canned 3 years after he won a Super Bowl w/ that decrepit franchise, the Eagles. Hopefully, the Bills don’t do anything stupid like that if McD has a couple losing seasons. In all seriousness, all Bills fans want is a ring and dammit, we deserve it. I think a dynasty hinges on the defense. If we supply this offense w/ a top 5 D then Buffalo is going to truly hit that next level IMO.

3/5 Lombardi’s over 5 years is a tall order, man. You’re expecting a dynasty. While certaintly possible, I would be satisfied w/ one. Let’s hope. 👍

Nah, there’s still plenty of football to be talked about. And people keep assuming Defensive End is set just because we addressed it in the draft. Sometimes that position takes years to develop and Hughes is going to hit a wall at some point. Will Allen follow up an MVP-type year? Will the line improve in run blocking? Can we beat KC? Will Edmunds & Oliver take that next Allen type step? Etc, etc etc. I wish we had more board members that knew their X’s and O’s so we can dissect this stuff more. A lot of the threads are sensationalist hyperbole.

The Jets had a few stellar seasons from guys like Vinny T and Chad Pennington, but you are right 😝 I think it’s a little easier to find one now because of all the college concepts in the NFL, but not much. Let’s all enjoy 17 while we can because it could be another 30 years until the next one comes along.

The whole Alabama team is full of elite players and 5 star recruits. It’s really a chicken or the egg thing. Is the offense good because or in spite of him? Having the highest recorded completion % in FBS history is a huge accomplishment. I agree w/ most of your points and yes, it’s anyone’s guess. I happen to put a lot of stock in accuracy. Kind of why I wasn’t #1 Josh Allen fan coming out of college. Then again I’m dumb so hey.

Jimmy G was in the 2nd and Cousins was I THINK a 4th, but I don’t feel like googling. Joe Burrow had an elite offense at LSU w/ receivers open wider than the Grand Canyon and yet nobody gives him the same **** as Mac Jones. Physically, JB was a better physical NFL prospect obviously. MJ was 5 star recruit going into Bama and lived up to that status completely. Yes, he had a great offense, but you still have to get the ball to your playmakers which is the QBs job. His accuracy & ability to anticipate and “throw open” his receivers was top notch. Definitely better than Tua, but a couple notches below Burrow. I just don’t see what you saw when he played for Bama that’s makes him such a bad prospect? Past Alabama QB busts? Wide open WRs? Weaker build? The guy was a Heisman finalist, man.

I can’t stand his personality, but he was no Trent Dilfer. I think he was a good compliment to that defense.

I feel like DE has more bust potential than O-line excluding LT. You can plug and play a G, C, or T and get average play for the most part unless your scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel for guys. Especially w/ someone like Allen or even Mahomes who both have great pocket maneuverability and scrambling. With a guy like Stafford, I would trust a rookie lineman a little less. Defensive end/3-4 OLB is a different animal. I feel like guys bust a lot more frequently at that position. Putting all yours eggs in a rookie pass rusher basket seems risky even when they double down in the 2nd round. As you say, we shall see… P.S. I can guarantee w/ almost 100% certainty that Houston has a price.

I feel like the pick was a pretty good value at that spot. People think I’m some kind of Mac Jones lover, but I don’t think he is going to be this huge “bust” like people think. Everyone’s opinion of what a bust is varies. I think he will be a slightly above average QB (think Jimmy G at worst, Kirk Cousins at best) to bridge the gap until someone better comes along. High floor/low ceiling. People need to stop comparing yesteryears stats w/ today. It might as well of been a totally different game in the 70s.

As a former alcoholic myself, it means so much to me that he speaks out about his issues while breaking the stigma. Makes me feel like less of a nut when a successful, good looking dude like Poyer literally goes through the same thing I do. It just proves how alcoholism (and drug addiction) can touch anyone, anywhere.
