1 year anniversary of Amari Cooper trade

The birth of a Super Villain -
No, you’re right. It’s a BORING offense. Even the announcers have been bringing it up during games. That kind of stuff works with Tom Brady and a cast of carefully selected short white WRs and steroid abusing homicidal Tight ends. Not so much what a high-octane Josh Allen offense SHOULD be which is big chunk throws/runs and a complementary running game. I get that they don’t have the cast, but WHOS fault is that, Beane ? Edit: kind of bummed that Daboll is turning it around in Jersey. There was the offhand chance that maybe he would come back here. I was never a Daboll hater either. I follow the Giants closely because of him.

Not retaining key role players like Mack Hollins also hurt. The Bills weren’t the most explosive passing team last year, but definitely one of the better ones. Good enough for an MVP season. I feel like Beane could’ve went a better route (no pun intended) if he wanted a distribution system in the WR room. Carefully selected what role players instead of seemingly throwing together a random group of guys that don’t fit together.
-
People joke, but McDaniel at least would know how to install a downfield passing game. He’s a clown as a HC, but I hope the Bills do their due diligence if they decide to make a big splash at coordinator (McD will not get fired as much as I want this.)

Underrated comment. Josh Allen should not be involved in choosing a rookie WR. Maybe his input, but That is not his job. That’s why Peyton Manning isn’t the GM of the Colts right now. Just because you’re good at throwing a ball doesn’t mean you know how to evaluate talent. I would understand having him heavily involved in FA options. Now we are stuck with a role player at best and a total bust at worst.

McDermott coaches his team like he’s playing against Josh Allen every week instead of having him on the roster. Another thing that annoys me are these long time consuming drives especially when they only end up kicking a FG. Always ends up biting them in the butt. This offense should be trying to gain as many possessions as possible to put up points.

For the past couple of years it seems like Josh Allen has been trending down as a runner. We have an idiot coordinator who constructs an offense like they have Trent Edward’s under center. I never understood the constant obsession (even on this board) with neutering Josh Allen and cutting off his legs. You’re taking away one of his best skill sets. There was a 4th down play against the Falcons where he could’ve very easily ran it for a first and would’ve done so in the past. Instead he throws a low % ball that of course falls incomplete by a mile. I get when your guy is hitting that mid 30s mark, but just turned 29 in the offseason?! No major knee/lower body injuries. Even the Chiefs aren’t that dumb. Mahomes is their leading rusher. At least they’re showing they’ll do what it takes when other facets of the offense aren’t working. Just pure stupidity. Josh is special when he’s running with the ball. Don’t neuter him. I’d rather have 5 more high level MVP years than 8 more of this garbage. It’s like watching an Eagle with its wings clipped. Brady has to go. Cook and the running game wouldn’t suffer one bit if they canned this bum.

Is Joe Brady the main issue on offense?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
I saw Tom Brady tear the league up with short white guys. It’s up to our OC to tailor the offense with what he’s got at his disposal. There are still plenty of other strengths that can be taken advantage of. Dual threat QB, top 5 RB, Kincaid, and solid starting line. I’m so tired of the game being relegated to get it to your big, fast number 1 WR. Remember when Miami took the league by storm with the Wildcat? That was one of my core NFL memories, but I always admired how the OC tailored that Miami offense to their strengths instead of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole like so many seem to do nowadays. -
Go on record... Fire McDermott?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s the whole point. We shouldn’t be seeing the same exact problems from LAST YEAR and the year before that and so on…. -
If Sean McDermott and Marv Levy switched era’s
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott isn’t even good enough to be a coordinator on a Marv Levy team. -
Can everyone just take a freakin breath?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
You’re right that there’s no point to being miserable. It solves nothing. I want to know why and then I want to know the potential solutions. There ARE things the Bills can do to get better right now. Firing Babich would be number 1. They showed they will can crappy coordinators (say that 3x) w/ Dorsey if necessary. Historically, new coaches usually bring a new energy & success. I’m all for the scapegoat method if it leads to change. The second thing I want is for Beane to really see what’s out there on the trade market as far as a boundary stretching WR. Jerry Jeudy is an option. AJ Brown is another. Pair them with a healthy Kincaid and Shakir, you all the sudden have a respectable cast of receivers. I do agree with you about the injuries. I’ve never seen the Bills lose so many important players so quickly. I mean nobody is possibly prepared for something like that. You can point to strength & conditioning and training or whatever, but these are grown men and professionals. They know how to take care of their bodies because that’s literally what gets them paid. I feel like McDermott is being unfairly criticized for something that is largely out of his control. A lot of People including myself were overlooking this. -
There ARE people out there. Everyone has a price. You’re telling me Cleveland wouldn’t jump at a 3rd (or 2nd if push comes to shove) for Jerry Jeudy? They are in the hunt for a QB come next offseason and the smart thing to do would be to load up on picks like Buffalo did to nab Allen. Bill’s stock is falling so those picks will be worth even more to potential suitors. Buffalo is insanely lucky to be 4-2 with this roster. They can still turn it around if they can get a decent boundary receiver via trade. Not likely that the defense will have some major turnaround unless Hairston turns out to be the 2nd coming of Deion Sanders. It’s a multiple player turnaround. Maybe even an entire scheme change. This offense literally needs one thing and that’s a WR that can take the top off. It would be a night & day transformation. I think Beane is smart enough to know the writing is on the wall. Your average fan knows that. You can literally feel it. I hope McDermott is in his ear about looking at the trade market. This isn’t a rebuilding year (yet.) We only have a finite amount of time with Josh in his prime. I’d much rather go out swinging for the fences than to do a slow death watching this crap offense dink & dunk their way to the 7 seed.

Did we already miss the window with Josh
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BritishBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t think it’s in his character to demand a trade. I just don’t see it. Even Aaron Rodgers stayed with GB until 40. He doesn’t strike me as that type unless the Bills were continuously missing the playoffs. -
Jeudy was on my offseason wish list. The Browns would be smart to unload him for whatever they can get. The Bills would be the perfect destination. This seems like the most realistic option. Olave is certainly worth a first and some. We already know Beane doesn’t know what to do with a 1st round pick when it comes to WRs. Might as well use it on a proven commodity.

Give me a break. Josh Allen owes just as much to the Bills as they do to him. -

I would say about 8. This is the time to cut ties with our losses and get in a qualified coach/GM asap. Ask yourself this. If we switched Head Coaches tomorrow, could the production really be any worse for the remaining season ? This defense is performing at historically crappy levels. At least we know a fresh coach may be able to scheme something up at least for both the O and D. Sadly, it’s not going to happen -
A Few Thoughts about the Falcons Game - Community Edition
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
This loss feels much different than the others ones. Not because it was some trap game after a big W where they just came in unprepared. The wheels seem like they’re coming off of this organization. Better now than never when Josh is 29 instead of 35. Starting over wouldn’t be as bad as people think. Statistically, this team couldn’t really get any worse. The Bills have some nice pieces and a franchise QB. They could attract any coach in the league they wanted. As a fan. I am done selling myself short. We deserve better. Thank you for rebuilding this team, McDermott & Beane. This era is over -
Is it time to move on from McDermott?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Monty98's topic in The Stadium Wall
He should get the remainder of the season, but anything less than another AFC title game then he is gone. I don’t see him even making it past the first round. The Pats over took the Bills. A Wildcard is very possible.
