  1. Carson Wentz & Ben Roethlisberger (can't believe I spelled that correctly) are 2 of the active QBs that I believe mostly fall into Allen's category as a prospect. Wentz was kind of derailed by injuries, but had an unfortunate fall in production when he WAS healthy. The jury is still out and I'm not sure if it was his or the organization's fault. His next 2 years in Indy will be his moment of truth. Hopefully, Allen won't make that kind of regression. I don't see Allen getting "figured out" the way a guy like Lamar Jackson did. He's going to kill you in so many other ways if you shut down certain facets of his game. He's not a system QB by any means and I've always felt he would succeed anywhere. I agree w/ the writer that he will probably have a slight regression. It's extremely hard to put up 47 TDs a year. Fans are putting too much expectations & pressure on him (some already proclaiming him to be better than Kelly.) When I say slight, I mean 40 TD's or so. He's just too unstoppable to shut down and he's going to be a factor on every drive he's in. 💯
  2. Once in awhile I actually learn something on this board! Very interesting.
  3. And I thought u were just a fan of rap music the whole time. 🤷
  4. Unpopular opinion, but YES. I think Aaron Donald would absolutely go into any past era and dominate (as would any good-great player of today.) But the players of the past didn't have nearly the amount of tools, training diet, individual coaching, etc like they do now especially the ones from the infancy of the NFL. A guy like Deacon Jones for example. Who knows how good he would be? Guys are just bigger, stronger, faster now and the rules are much different along w/ overall philosophies. There's just way too many variables to determine best ever. But yeah, if you stick them all on a team I think Aaron Donald would be the best given all of his obvious advantages. The real question is, could a guy from those eras come into THIS era and dominate?
  5. I thought SI was a robot? Like the ones from Blade Runner. Where's Harrison Ford when you need him...
  6. My hate for Mahomes has surpassed my hate for Brady so it was fun watching him get the **** kicked out of him in the Super Bowl. Don't get me wrong, I hate them both. A couple of those Rings he shouldn't have. He is not the best NFL player of all time either. That goes to Jerry Rice.
  7. I mainly used to keep the closest eye on the AFC East, but now I'm just as much in tune w/ the main playoff contenders like the Chiefs, Browns, Ravens, Steelers, etc. Whatever directly affects the Bills in other words. I do love a ton of NFC matchups, but I'm much more knowledgeable about the AFC. When you are a true contender, you accumulate more inner-divisional rivals. I would put the Chiefs & Titans at the top of the list, the only 2 teams that have had the Bills number in the past couple of years and a bad matchup for us in general.
  8. Praise him! 🙏👼
  9. I'm 5 times more worried about Miami than freaking New England and that's saying a lot bc I'm not worried about either them. What a load of horse **** !
  10. Love the Sopranos reference, ya know Bills Mafia and all 😂 Bills are a storied small market franchise similar to teams like the Browns, Steelers, Packers, etc. You can't tell the story of the NFL/AFL without them. There's something charming about the Bills. I know I would root for them even if I wasn't born into it. I'm not a fan of any team relocating even if it's a division rival.
  11. I definitely screwed the pooch on this one. I made a thread asking people who their breakout players were this year and one of my 2 was Hollister. I fed into the Wyoming connection and the lack of TE talent on the roster. I still don't understand why we still have Knox other than it was pretty much a wash, but Knox knows the offense better + he's younger (?) so that's what kept him around longer. I guess that's why I post on a message board and don't run an NFL team 😂 My other choice was Espenesa so here's to hoping ONE of my predictions becoming right. With all the Rousseau hype, he's a guy I'm watching for.
  12. I love Josh Allen as much as the next fan, but let's cut the "Allen is BETTER than Favre" BS 😒 Favre played at a high level for nearly 20 years. For the stat crowd that brought up that Allen's 2020 season was better than any of Favres...it was a different ERA. Look no further than his 1st vikings season where he put up 33 TD to 7 picks (his best TD-INT) w/ 4200 yards at nearly 41 years old. It's not that he all the sudden got better, these were the times when pass interference, def holding, and roughing calls started becoming more prevalent. Coincidence? I don't think so. Same w/ Tom Brady. There's no way he would've held up this long in any other decade before this. I'm going to lump you guys in w/ the "Allen is better than Jim Kelly" crowd also. The bottom line is both Kelly & Favre would've absolutely CRUSHED it in this era. I'm not even that old, but I've seen enough games from that time to know the difference. A lot of fans need a serious history lesson on the NFL. 😒 Josh had one elite season. Favre is a certified HOFer w/ a ring. Cool your jets...
  13. Looks like some BS I'd create on Madden 🤮
  14. As somebody pointed out earlier, he's in one of the best situations a WR can be in. Great OC, great WRs to learn from, and great QB. If he fails to really take the next step, it will be nobody's fault, but his own. I don't believe Sanders or anyone else minus Diggs will keep him pushed down the depth chart. Because we Bills fans need to relive that past pain every once in awhile to truly appreciate what we have in the present !
  15. By #1 I mean the one w/ the most rec yards. Typically the guy opposing defenses scheme the most against and put their best CB on. Allen's preferred target.
  16. It's definitely one of the better WR groups in the league. Each receiver has their own specific skill set which I think is great. Good comparison w/ Lofton. Sanders still has good burst out there and I'm honestly excited for both.
  17. To what extent? I can't remember what was exactly wrong w him in the AFCC. I looked up his stats and he only had 3 targets and 0 catches.
  18. Beasley is the engine that keeps this offense ticking. If he ever gets sidelined for any reason, I expect a decent drop off in 3rd down percentage. Some people just don't understand how good at his job he really is. I hate when people say he's not the future and guys like McKenzie will take his spot. Not happening. Good slot receivers can play well into their 30s, but only if he decides it's worth the toll on his body to do so. The guy hasn't slowed down one bit and actually aged like wine.
  19. First off, please don't jump down my throat. It's just a random thought/question and not a preseason overreaction. This has been on my mind since the end of last season. When I watch Davis ball, he looks like a star in the making. The chemistry between him and Allen has been evident from the beginning. He's not the fastest guy, but and can stretch the field. He's also great in the Red zone coming in 3rd place of all rookies last year in TD receptions + is the best on the team at making those sideline catches (IMO.) Great measurables, sure handed, and versatile. What more can you ask for? My only concern is his lack of production in the playoffs specifically against KC when we needed someone to really step up. I don't wanna say I exactly "disappointed" that the Bills picked up Emmanuel Sanders, I know depth is never a bad thing, but I really wanted to see where his progression would lead to getting more targets. I feel he will eventually take that #2 (if he already hasn't) and become a 1B guy to Diggs. What do you guys think?
  20. I feel like guys like Edmunds and especially Ed Oliver would be under way more fire if we didn't have Josh Allen on the team. Fortunately, we don't have to rely on the defense as much to win games so underperforming draft picks aren't getting as much critique as they should. This is the Bill Bellichick effect. In years past, Oliver would be getting roasted by this message board. This is my opinion so take it or leave it.
  21. I wasn't excited about the hire either. Daboll is obviously a great coordinator, but it takes a great QB to run his offense at the same time. He's benefitted greatly having Josh as his guy and I don't think we'll see much if any drop off when goes.
  22. Well, the amount he would have in week 15 opposed to now. He's a shell of his former self, but can still put up a monster game.
  23. Valid points. I think the defense will come together by week 5-6. And Daboll is going to tweak the offensive scheme to make the run game serviceable and don't forget Allen's mandatory 600+ 8-10 TDs on the ground. And I don't think Allen really has any weaknesses other than his fumbling and (if you even call this a weakness) always looking for the big play even if there's a safer option to check down to. I feel he is the hardest QB to scheme against because he's such a good improviser and runner.
  24. Like some before stated, it's going to be a dog fight. The first games of a season are always crazy & unpredictable. Look how many time the Drought-years Bills came on super strong in the first few games in the season only to sink back into obscurity, mathematically eliminating themselves by November. The Bills are no doubt the superior team and will have a better record when it's all said and done, but don't count out a very hungry Steelers team (who I predict will win the North.) Big Ben won't have the wear & tear and both teams won't have any film on each other from this season. I predict a high scoring game as the defenses having quite caught up. 31-28 Bills w/ Bass kicking the game winner.
