What I did and didn't like vs Steelers
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They got killed in all 3 phases as the announcers pointed out. A veteran like Levi should know to turn his head as a CB is going to get flagged 9/10 times when they have their back to the ball like that. I'm not sure I want to blame him for the TD as it was a spectacular bobbled catch, but in the end it's bad awareness on his part to let either play happen. You can't put the blame on the line for his inaccuracy. It's pretty terrifying how much he looked like rookie Josh Allen w/ all the under thrown balls, rushed throws, and fumbles. -
What I did and didn't like vs Steelers

People put a lot of pressure on Allen to be the next Mahomes and rightfully so w/ that hefty contract. He definitely did not play upto it, but Daboll and Sanders did him no favors. I feel like the defense did fine barring Wallace. The field position is what did them in. Wallace is for sure the weakest starter out of the unit. I'll admit I defended him against the people who said so during the off-season, but I'm beginning to think we should look at other options either on or off the roster If it continues. -

Allen had a couple head scratchers last season. The first game against the Pats comes to mind. I'm not trashing the season over a bad game. The best teams in the league have sloppy games. This one could've easily been an ugly win if Daboll took his head out of his *** and Sanders not dropping a PERFECT pass. Unfortunately, it was the season opener. Best get the issues worked out early. I'm trying my best not to get upset over this as I have so many times in the past. -

You guys act like we lost to the Jets. I've been telling people to not take the Steelers lightly, their defense is as good as it gets in the NFL and Roethlisberger is a smart veteran. Absolutely crazy for people to think the Bills were just going to come in and steam roll a 13-3 team w/ a huge chip on their shoulder. Game could've went either way minus a stupid drop by Sanders and questionable call back on the White interception. Week 1 is ALWAYS crazy, I know the play calling was atrocious, but they can build from this. We'll see where their heads are really at next week. If they drop 2 in a row then I'll start panicking. I am no where near throwing away the season like some people here. Have a little faith. -

BS call through and through. You don't throw a ticky tack flag on a freaking game changing play like that. I'm still fuming 😡😡😡 + Sanders drop was just as bad. Allen threaded it perfectly (not excusing his bad play through out the game) but you HAVE to make that catch when your offense is in dire need of something. Led directly to the blocked punt. Brutal, brutal, BRUTAL performance on a game that should've been won. -
This was my exact thought after that game also. Running the ball is becoming more & more obsolete these days. Kyle Orton led the league one year in total passing yards for example, that doesn't make him an elite QB though. It all depends on where and when you pick up those yards + whether you turn those drives into TDs. But I do think Allen will be among the top 3 in all purpose TDs, but I can see a lot of other QBs ahead of him in passing yards. I think the defense will be much improved so Allen won't have to put the offense on his back nearly every game.

12-4 & 11-5 records last year = not mediocre. You can make the case for the Steelers if u really want to due to their terrible playoff performance, but that's really nitpicking. I hope the Bills destroy the Steelers tomorrow and I don't mind being wrong unlike some folks here, but I think they are going to give the Bills some fits.

TJ Watt signs mega deal with Steelers

I keep telling people that, but nobody listens. They think it's going to be a Blowout. Expect a dog fight just like Thursday night. I still think we win though. -
300+ Yard Passing Games
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Normally that performance on Thursday should've been MORE than enough in any game. It's a testament to how horrible the Cowboys defense is and the Brady factor. I hate them as much as anyone else here, but I'm frankly impressed by the way Prescott played. That pass through Ceedee Lamb's hands was a Josh Allen-esque throw that should've been caught, not picked off. Opening day losses are the absolute worst and I hate "moral victories," but that loss against the champs is certainly something to build off of. Great game. -

And all of the sudden we are thin at defensive tackle. Good thing we are facing the Steelers and not the Titans. -

Star is OUT for Steelers game

Or a key feature in Oliver's development in general. A top 10 pick should be dominant regardless of who he lines up next to. In fact, OLIVER should be the guy to free up everybody else. We'll see how he fares this Sunday. -
Per Nick Wright: Bills will be a fringe contender.

And don't forget that Fumble recovery by Milano that got called back! They deserved to lose that game as they had every chance to take it. -
Article: Will Josh Allen regress in 2021?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Carson Wentz & Ben Roethlisberger (can't believe I spelled that correctly) are 2 of the active QBs that I believe mostly fall into Allen's category as a prospect. Wentz was kind of derailed by injuries, but had an unfortunate fall in production when he WAS healthy. The jury is still out and I'm not sure if it was his or the organization's fault. His next 2 years in Indy will be his moment of truth. Hopefully, Allen won't make that kind of regression. I don't see Allen getting "figured out" the way a guy like Lamar Jackson did. He's going to kill you in so many other ways if you shut down certain facets of his game. He's not a system QB by any means and I've always felt he would succeed anywhere. I agree w/ the writer that he will probably have a slight regression. It's extremely hard to put up 47 TDs a year. Fans are putting too much expectations & pressure on him (some already proclaiming him to be better than Kelly.) When I say slight, I mean 40 TD's or so. He's just too unstoppable to shut down and he's going to be a factor on every drive he's in. 💯 -

And I thought u were just a fan of rap music the whole time. 🤷 -
Unpopular opinion, but YES. I think Aaron Donald would absolutely go into any past era and dominate (as would any good-great player of today.) But the players of the past didn't have nearly the amount of tools, training diet, individual coaching, etc like they do now especially the ones from the infancy of the NFL. A guy like Deacon Jones for example. Who knows how good he would be? Guys are just bigger, stronger, faster now and the rules are much different along w/ overall philosophies. There's just way too many variables to determine best ever. But yeah, if you stick them all on a team I think Aaron Donald would be the best given all of his obvious advantages. The real question is, could a guy from those eras come into THIS era and dominate?

I mainly used to keep the closest eye on the AFC East, but now I'm just as much in tune w/ the main playoff contenders like the Chiefs, Browns, Ravens, Steelers, etc. Whatever directly affects the Bills in other words. I do love a ton of NFC matchups, but I'm much more knowledgeable about the AFC. When you are a true contender, you accumulate more inner-divisional rivals. I would put the Chiefs & Titans at the top of the list, the only 2 teams that have had the Bills number in the past couple of years and a bad matchup for us in general.
