We heard this last year when the Bills lost Diggs and seemingly had no good WRs. The Bills and Allen always seem to figure it out. It’s just hard for me to worry about an offense that has been historically great for the past 5 years. I feel like great QBs are able to get it done with pretty much anyone remotely decent. Also, I am keeping a close eye on Shavers. Could he be our Marques Colston ?

The Bills are really scrambling for a CB.

To be fair, EVERY team struggled against the Ravens. One of the only teams that is elite at both running & passing the ball. Some teams you just have to accept that they’re going to score points and hope for a turnover/mistake (which Babich/McD did masterfully.) To shut down a HOF RB and QB is asking a ton.

I understand it. Bills were desperate for a pass rush. Now it’s 2025 and we are still in the same spot hence why Beane went D-Line for picks 2,3, and 4.

The Bills know Rasul Douglas’ weaknesses very well and that is the exact reason they didn’t sign him. Allen is going to have a field day against this Dolphins D, but that’s been the norm since he came in the league.

Dolphins need everything firing on all cylinders if they even want a distant shot of taking the division. Losing your kicker is massive. Not good for them. The FA crop is terrible.

Josh Allen Bills decide to go a different route and hand the keys over to Mitch Trubisky ushering in the new Buffalo Bills dynasty. Edit: I can’t believe I need to put a *sarcasm* disclaimer

He has to learn to beat the Chiefs. That’s a fact. But McDermott defenses have actually been decent in the playoffs. Beating the Lamar Jackson led Ravens twice in the playoffs is no easy task. Held the Broncos to 7 points last year (holding any NFL offense to one TD is impressive.)

McDermott is going into his 9th year as a HC. He knows how to run a proper training camp and practice. I’m not concerned at all.

Taron Johnson’s pick 6 was such a game changer for the entire franchise. Even after beating an aging Rivers I doubt most people were sold on the Bills and Allen completely. That play and subsequent victory really put Buffalo on the map as the next real contenders in the AFC.

If Hollins is not worth 4-5 million then Joshua Palmer surely isn’t either, but Beane sees differently.

Which is odd because special teams was Shaver’s MO at Alabama. I mean that’s all he did. I’m pretty sure he had 1 career reception there. Those fans can speak for themselves. There’s a percentage of us that got a stable head on our shoulders and know preseason is meaningless other than the guys competing for a roster spot. I’ve gotten excited too many times in preseason from the likes of Jeff Tuel and Brian Brohm. I know it means absolute dog **** now.

I feel like Tyler Bass is always “shaky.” Every time he’s going to kick, he strolls up to the field like a sad puppy. Projecting zero confidence, but he ends up making them. He typically misses about 4 FGs a year which is pretty normal.

Shakir has made some pretty acrobatic catches himself.

If Shavers doesn’t make the roster then I have zero faith in McDermott’s “best man wins” philosophy. It will be a bad look for McD in front of his players. I think it is as close to 100% as you can get that he makes the roster. He’s making catches on every level of the field. I think Shavers could be special.

Unlike most, I am super happy we play them in week 1. I’ve stated before that I think the Ravens have the most talented team in the NFL when you break their entire roster down. Week 1 is the perfect opportunity to steal a W. The home crowd will be a huge advantage as the first home game is always rowdy. I am extremely nervous about this secondary. I have no idea who will start opposite Benford, but I am not feeling Tre White or Dane Jackson. I would probably be happier w/ Jamarcus Ingram. Safety is by far the weakest position group which sucks as McDermott’s scheme is heavily dependent on them. We are going to need a big day from the offense. Thankfully, we have other options besides Allen putting on his cape. James Cook will silence a lot of critics if he can go out there and show why he makes the big bucks. I am not worried about our receivers as most. Allen made it work year after year after year. I don’t think this one will be any different. What I would like to see is Josh Palmer making plays. I hated that acquisition, but I would much rather be wrong.

Shavers could be a #1. I really think he’s that good. That catch proves it. He’s been allover the field on every level. I seriously hope he gets a chance to see some real action. It’s a waste letting him rot on the practice squad. Either way, he’s as good as gone if Buffalo doesn’t retain him on the 53.

I really have no idea why they haven’t grabbed Rasul Douglas. He had a bad year, but it doesn’t mean he’s finished. At least he will be a healthy option. If not then Beane needs to make a trade.
