Why the hate ? He improved last year. Had a few really big plays. He is top tier depth

Don’t forget that on TBD, players only get their rookie seasons to prove themselves otherwise they are an immediate bust 👍

Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Merriman was finished after year 3 in the NFL. He was a known PED junkie and his body was completely broken down by the time he got here. People were excited because of his name, but anybody worth their salt knew that he was cooked. It was a move to sell tickets. At least Joey Bosa seems to be trending upwards injury wise going from 5 healthy games to 9 and then 14 last year. He will be able to get acclimated slowly given the rotational scheme the Bills run. 12 million is a bargain even if Bosa can get back to 80% form. Rousseau, AJE, Bosa, 1st round rookie is a very respectable lineup. I’m a fan of the move. The motivation will be there on a 1 year contract. Bosa knows this this year will determine the rest of his NFL career. Hopefully his body doesn’t fail him. -

Agreed. Josh Palmer was a frustrating signing. I have been a big advocate on not caving into Cook’s demands, but IMO better to give him what he wants opposed to a WR w/ 1 TD who was relatively healthy the entire season. I guess we’ll see. -

Hell no. Epenesa is very important depth regardless if they go DE in the 1st or not. He’s a guaranteed 7 sacks every season which is fantastic production given he’s a rotational player. -
DK Metcalf traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve been saying since the beginning that if Buffalo makes a push for a bluechip player via trade, it better be one on the defensive side of the ball. Josh Allen just came off an MVP year with a rag tag group of pass catchers. He didn’t need a surefire #1 just like Tom Brady didn’t either. He simply passes to the open guy. Let Metcalf wither away in Pittsburgh where he’ll be underused like he was in Seattle. Now he’ll never see his full potential like Diggs did when he got traded here. -
Now will they still extend Benford or Cook?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall
Would you rather go into the season without your CB1 or RB1? I think that’s a pretty easy answer unless you have Saquon, Henry, or McCaffrey. Benford means more to the Bills than Cook. Ray Davis and Ty Johnson are more than capable of carrying the load if push comes to shove. Do people really want to see more of Elam? -
Browns ink Myles Garrett to an Extension
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most likely in the 2025 draft class. Beane has plenty of ammo to make a big move. If one of the top pass rushers falls below 12-15, I fully expect the Bills to do everything they can to land them -
And Xavier Worthy is a woman to woman beater.

Can we talk about a Back Up QB?
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to OnTheRocks's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taylor Heinicke is my number 1 choice. I always loved the way he played in Washington. He’s definitely capable of going at least .500 if Allen goes down for 4-6 games which would keep us contenders in a weak AFCE. He’s got the “gamer” factor that QBs like Gardner Minshew & Fitz have. 3500 pass yards 313 rush yards 21 total TDs and 15 picks in his only full year as a starter. My second choice would be Marcus Mariota. I am a firm believer in backup QBs with explosive speed/scrambling ability. They don’t have the chemistry with pass catchers that the starters do. It’s important to be able to generate yards. Scrambling ability will help get first downs and buy time for receivers to get open. Mariota is still only 31. People are going to hate on this one, but for my third choice I am going with Daniel Jones. The guy has ZERO business ever being a starter, but I believe he has the talent to be one of the better backups in the league. Similar to Josh Allen, the offense won’t have to go through too much change when switching over to Jones. With a 70-47 TD/INT ratio, he wasn’t atrocious. His consistency was terrible though. I think he could pull a few good games out of his *** if called upon. Edit: The more I think about it, Daniel Jones would actually be my first choice. I have no idea why I put him third. -

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is very true. 24 QB hits yet only 8 sacks. He IS getting pressure though -

If Beane plays his cards right, it’s entirely possible to beef up the DL in one offseason. We saw him do it on the other side last year. I would love one of the big 3 pass rushers Garrett/Hendrickson/Crosby, but a Sweat/Rousseau tandem w/ AJE rotating in is not too shabby. I think Beane goes DT in the first round and possibly trading up if a top 20 prospect ends up falling. -

I hope you’re right. I’m not a numbers guy so I can’t figure out the cap situation. -
Xavier Worthy arrested for assault
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Where are the posters who chastised Beane for trading down with the big bad rival Chiefs? Show yourselves. What a sick **** Choking out someone is incredibly dangerous and should be an attempted murder charge, not an assault. I bet it was a woman too. The Chiefs are easily the biggest scumbag team I’ve ever witnessed. My hate for them has exceeded the Patriots by a landslide. -

Kelsay should’ve pulled a Myles Garrett and knocked out the opposing QB with his lunch pail. -

IDK how I feel about this. As a lot of posters alluded, he disappears for stretches. I feel like the money could’ve been better invested to a high level FA or trade. We are not a rebuilding team. The Bills are literally 2 blue chip players away from dethroning KC. Maybe Beane knows something we don’t? Maybe he realizes Garrett/Crosby/Metcalf will be unattainable? The positives are he is a homegrown player that can rack up 8-10 sacks along w/ being force against the run. Going into year 5 does he have the chance to get better? I’ll give the Tremaine Edmunds argument that he is still only 24. We shall see. Trust the process ! -
Bernard signs 4 year, 50 mill extension
ChronicAndKnuckles replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
I understand where some people are coming from. There are definitely issues on the defense, but Bernard is generally not the problem. He does have a habit of getting lost in the crowd of bodies once in a while, but I think getting bigger at defensive tackle will offset that issue. He and Milano are so similar in the way they play although I think Milano is better against the run. It helps so much against the pass when you have athletic LBs with superior range, but you sacrifice getting pushed around. The league (and Bills especially) seems to be trending more towards a more physical running style again so we’ll see if Bernard and McDermott can adapt. As I said on an earlier post, they played the Ravens as good as any team has so it gives me hope. Just gotta find a Pat Williams clone. -
The AFCC showed me everything I needed to know as far as Benford’s importance. Look at the defensive performance with him in the lineup during the regular season versus when he is out. It’s night & day. I mentioned in another thread that Beane likes to lock up players before they really “earn” it. He bases it on future performance and that allows him to sign them at a cheaper rate. Did it with Allen, Oliver, Bernard.
