Score Predictions for Seahawks - Bills?
bobinaz replied to Patience's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills - 23 Seahawks - 16 -
IMHO, here are some things I think the Bills offense is going to need to do and be consistent at to beat the Seahawks. Granted, the Seahawks are coming in with some injuries to key players and are missing some due to suspensions, but I still think their defense is going to be a test for the Bills revamped OL. Yes, my suggestions are elementary, but in the past this team has shown it has a short memory. But here's to you Turk, get er' done. 1. TE needs to plan on getting rid of the ball quickly. Shorter passes could equal more YAC 2. The WR's and RB's need to recognize the blitz and pick it up by chip blocking, adjusting their routes. 3. Turk needs to be able to make the necessary adjustments throughout the game and at half time. If it means helping out the left side of the line with a TE, RB, FB or WR, then do it. TE can't play very well looking up from a horizontal position all game long. 4. Make the necessary yardage to move the ball, convert the 3rd downs, and wear down the defense. Thus keeping our defense fresh. Use the Steerlers preseason game as the blue print. 5. Don't force the ball; dump it off, throw it away. I'm not the most knowledgeable about game planning, but probably stated the obvious here. I don't know what the weather will be like, but if Hanna has her way, it could be a close game with a slick ball. This is going to be of the utmost to protect the ball for sure. As for the losses of Crowell and Peters, I say let's give the team a chance and see what happens. There's been a lot of moaning about this player and that player, and why is the team doing this and not doing that. After the dust clears Sunday, we should have a good idea of what kind of team we have this season. If it's a crappy played game and the subs can't hold their own, hopefully the FO will have enough wits about them and make the adjustments.

If the Burress contract was in the works and Evan's agent knew this, do you suppose he may have been holding old to see what Burress got and might be ready to get a contract done using this as an amount to work from? I'm probably just spewing the obvious here amongst the experts. If this is the case, get it done now that Crowell probably won't be an issue and Peters is a foregone conclusion.

Does anyone have Peters' home address? We can send him hate mail...

If Royal is the only healthy TE for the season opener, what effect will this have on the offensive game plan? With some plays calling for a 2 TE set, will there be an extra WR on the field or will Barnes move to the line to fill the void? Here's another twist, what if Walker can't handle the left side on his own and they're forced to put the TE over on the left side for help, that's going to limit Edward's options if there isn't a 2nd TE on the field. IMO, they should have put Fine on the cut list, sign him to the practice squad (if that was an option with him being injured) and kept one of the two TEs that they cut. Or kept 4 TEs. Hopefully having the 6th WR will balance things out. Let's hope Peters gets into town, and maybe that will help the left side's issue while there is only one TE and if Walker has issues with any stunts the defensive coordinator throws at him. But who knows, maybe Walker will be okay out there alone on his island.
-
Sounds to me like he is doing what anyone would be doing: taking his mind off this issue. It's out of his hands and he has no control over what the coaches do. So why not relax and get away.

This was a great article and it was on the money. Thanks Lori....

Scout.com says Peters may be back monday
bobinaz replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be nice, but I don't see him starting the first game if he comes back. I look for a couple weeks of practice. -
Leodis McKelvin vs. Reggie Corner

Exactly. Youboty got burned last week. LM just mistimed it. -
Something I was wondering about was if the team sent him the new playbook in the offseason before the OTAs began with his holdout. If they did, then he might not be too far behind the power curve.
-
Let's say Peters returns by Labor day. He has exactly one week to get his a$$ ready for game one. Walker has been on the left side for let's say almost a month, he has the mind set of LT. Now Peters is back in the fold at LT. What does this do to Walker as far as getting back into the RT mindset and the cohesiveness of the O-line? Does the team let Peters pick up where he left off in the short amount of time or do they make him ride the pine for a game to get the new schemes, etc down? Does anyone think Walker will have any problems readjusting or was the shift to LT not long enough to really make a dent? I think Walker will be okay going back to RT since that is his normal position, but my concern is on the chemistry the O-line has developed this offseason in the new schemes. What a fine mess you've gotten us into Peters.....hopefully not and it will all pan out.

I was watching the training camp videos over the past month and the preseason games, and noticed one thing that hadn't changed with JP. He still stares down his WR and holds the ball too long waiting for that WR to get open. I counted numerous times where he is sitting there for a good 5 + seconds waiting to throw the ball. I'm sure I'm preaching to the chior on this, but TE definately has the quicker decision making skills to check the ball down. Let's hope TE gets well soon and is back on the field.

My bet is that Peters is in camp by Saturday (23rd). This way he can sneek into OP after the team is long gone from SJF and the media is not there to harass him. His new contract will be ready to go and signed by the first game of the season.
-
I agree with you here. Just to save himself from embarassment and the harassment with the media, he'll show up at OP ready to play. Too bad he missed all this time. My question is if he does show up, how out of shape will he be?

Ever since the Toronto game, there seems to be endless newspaper articles about a possible move of the team. Why? Granted it was just a preseason game, but tickets had to be given away. Having read these articles, it seems like it's a flip of the coin of whether or not an NFL team would be accepted in Toronto. Personally, I don't see it happening. So everyone in the media world can go find something else to write about. I truly believe someone will step up and keep this team in western NY. I like the idea of a fan owned team just like the Packers are. I'd be first in line to buy some stock. Let the Canadians keep their CFL and we'll keep our beloved Bills. Nuff said. Go Bills!!!!!
-
Keep in touch with me. We will be parked in the "Blue" lot off from Glendale. We can tailgate there.
-
Yeah Baby!!!!! The Bills flag is flying on the porch and my wife officially becomes a widow at 4pm Arizona time. By the way, the Bills inflatible linebacker goes out and accompanies the flag on September 7th. Go Bills!!!!!!!!!

What will you be looking for in tonight's game?
bobinaz replied to BLZFAN4LIFE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watching the left side of the O-line The new offense Trent Edwards Marcus Stroud Kawika Mitchell James Hardy and Lee Evans And praying for no injuries -
I got mine on Ebay, 3 tickets for $250, 25 yrd line, section 127, 26th row, visitor side.
-
Hey all, I got my tickets to the Cardinals game and I am looking for any of you out there that's going who would like to hook up before the game to do a little tailgating. There is nothing worse that walking into a stadium and seeing the home team tailgaters and getting flak from them. I have a parking pass and would be open to tailgating there. So if anyone is interested, let me know.

It's interesting to see that Peters and Hester has the same agent. Hopefully Peters will follow suit and get his a$$ on the field. If we have any chance to make a serious run for the post season, Peters needs to be there. TE won't survive with Walker or Chambers at LT.

Bills not sure if LT Peters will report to camp
bobinaz replied to obie_wan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peters and his agent are being a$$e$ about the whole thing. His agent of all people should be telling him to get his a$$ into camp, prove his worth and then renegotiate. He's hurting the O-line, the offense, and the team with this selfish attitude. Me personally, I'm worried to death for TE and his abilty to survive each week if Walker is protecting the left side. -
Simple question.......Will Jason Peters be at camp?
bobinaz replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If it's an injury that's keeping him out of camp, then why doesn't someone come out and say it. Why the hush-hush? If it's money he wants, he needs to get his butt into camp, prove his loyalty to the team (No "I" in the word team, aka Bruce Smith). Then he can do all the renegotiating he wants. His agent is being an a$$ just as well by not pushing his client to get out here, but instead allowing him to sit on his laurels. He's hurting the team and any chances this team has for the post season. But he won't realized that until his bank account is almost empty and the mortgage is due. Granted one player doesnt make a team, but his position and skill is vital to the O-line and TE's survival week in and week out. If he thinks holding out will force the team to realize how vital he is, then that's pretty selfish. I'm not crazy about Walker starting at LT, but if he can handle it, all the more power to him. But TS needs to get the chemistry going, with or without Peters. Mark my words, if this holdout continues and it effects the outcome of the season and the play of the offense, Peters will be one unwelcomed player with Bills fans and he can pack his bags for good. -
What Bills' collectible(s) do you value the most?
bobinaz replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The mini-helmet that both Doug Flutie and Thurman Thomas autographed at the 1999 training camp -
With the contract extensions of Butler and Williams, and Peters holding out for a new one, has there been any word of a deal getting done soon for Peters? I really hope the front office doesn't ignore this to the point where he is a no show for training camp. The O-line needs to pick up where they left off from last season and Peters needs to be there. I'm not crazy about the idea of sliding Walker over to LT. Only 13 days.....get er' done Brandon.
