  1. Probably because Covid related talk invariably turns into a PPP diaper pail, no matter the good intentions to start…this close out note may help clarify?
  2. Arguments between eras is always fun, but so so so subjective. Overall I feel like I’d prefer the majority of the 90’s roster starters to our own now, but the gap is narrowing fast, and this may be the year that changes for me, imo. But really people, we’re being asked to choose between great pizza and more great pizza, so really no wrong answers…
  3. Is this where I can post another shout out to a return of the red helmets? Asking for a friend…
  4. Talks broke down after Gruden made it clear that all ex-Bills on his roster are untouchable.
  5. Meanwhile, in the SMH category… https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/patriots/lions-dan-campbell-cuts-veteran-don-muhlbach-his-birthday So so glad I’m not a fan of the Lions!!!
  6. 13 hr with no traffic…but what are the chances of that?
  7. I’m not saying it’s a foolproof plan or anything like that, but legit interior pocket collapsing type of rush could make the difference in a shootout with a certain other good team in the AFC…that would definitely be an upgrade already over what we fielded on D for the AFCCG. Of course I want us to improve our CBs wherever possible, but as has been pointed out upthread, the pickings for anyone solid will be slim, so this is Plan B.
  8. Don’t discount the correlation that beefing up our pass rush during the offseason should have to making life easier on our secondary—likely that’s our formula for covering up our depth issues if need be this year.
  9. As a 1st grader experimenting with new sandwich creations, I came up with butter, peanut butter and honey, in that order. It’s been a few years but I’m reasonably sure I couldn’t handle that today, no matter how great that was at the time .
  10. Thanks OP, keep up the good work! “Thoughts” (along with Shaw) are a must-read for me after each game. Can’t remember which week last year it was that you were a tad “late” in posting, and the meltdowns (myself included) were palpable here!
  11. Given what a scrub he apparently is with zero natural aptitude or athleticism, it’s amazing he was even such a success at the college level.
  12. It’s the droopy shoulders Donuts—why didn’t any of the scouts pick up on the fact that men will never follow droopy shoulders into brick walls?
  13. To be a fly on the wall if he and Johnny Football ever reminisce over some drinks about their NFL experiences. Or not—on 2nd thought, let’s see what’s on Hallmark channel instead. 🧐
  14. Just remember as you’re readying your slings and arrows for dancing on Tebow’s vacated roster spot, one Kelvin Benjamin was also on an NFL roster to start this TC year, and was let go for allegedly non-football related reasons. Bonus: isn’t Nate Peterman still in the NFL too? I for one applaud Tebow’s effort, he’s a good dude on and off the field.
  15. So nice to see you back at it OP! Very much have enjoyed your write-ups and look forward to many more! My 2 cents for #4 would be sports movie quotes… “Skip: What's our record Larry? Larry: Eight and 16. Skip: Eight and 16...how'd we ever win eight?” (Bull Durham)
  16. In! Doing my part. Are there any ration books or war bonds up for purchase to help us subsidize Beane’s tire kicking getting r dunn on Dunn tires, “it’s a dunn deal?” for this?
  17. Not to fret, I’m quite sure Jimmy Spags will figure out a way to tell us such news is a Jets win-win!
  18. I definitely agree it wasn’t ideal. And the Bills were right not to just hand him the job out of the gate (say what you will, NP was always a preseason/TC beast) But I’d bet for as much as there were negatives, he also has taken some positives away from the experiences had in 2018.
  19. I think you have to, a ring’s a ring, just like other coaches have benefited from their predecessors, see e.g., Seifert got one on Walsh’s coattails in SFO.
  20. Even Josh for all intents and purposes was forced into a starting role much earlier than expected in his rookie year, basically from game 1, still have shudders from that Baltimore game—anyway, it didn’t destroy him, he’s flourished.
  21. Also liked how Beane described his mindset of never resting on the roster, saying to the effect that when people tune out of preseason games in the 3rd-4th quarters, he’s tuning in to see how their 5th or 6th option at linebacker for example stacks up to our own 5th or 6th deep, and would they be better or not, or a ST ace, etc., so constantly looking for even incremental improvement anywhere possible.
