  1. I hear you. But take Ed Oliver as an example of a guy needing into his 3rd year before really starting to find his groove and materially impact a game—AJ may be no different. That said, I definitely agree we should be pursuing a marquee FA to boost the unit while the young guys develop…
  2. If Mike McCarthy can win a super bowl with his own playoff coaching “skillset,” then we are not lost.
  3. At least your columns never disappoint OP! Strike the perfect notes per usual…thank you!
  4. C’mon, is that really necessary when all of us are processing/working through this most historic of all losses in our own ways? Just be kind to fellow Bills brethren today of all days.
  5. Peter King has similar sentiments about Josh playing out of his mind, and the need for OT changes… https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/01/24/nfl-divisional-playoffs-weekend-fmia-peter-king/ “5. I think I would just say this to anyone who is fine with the NFL overtime rule: No matter how good your defense is, if you win the toss at the start of overtime, are you going to choose to kick off? No. Only in exceedingly rare cases—like, if your quarterback is Spergon Wynn and your defense is the ’85 Bears—would you ever choose to kick off to start OT. That is the definition of the coin flip having too much bearing on the outcome of games. 6. I think the best player of the playoff weekend, and this is no slight to Patrick Mahomes, was Josh Allen. Amazing football player. Tremendous thrower, obviously, and a runner who chooses when to be physical and when to run out of bounds.“
  6. We have a new nephew in law in my family who’s as big a Chefs fan as I’m a Bills fan (strike that—not possible), anyway, he tactfully has refrained from texting me during or after this game, and for that I am most appreciative. Maybe he’s a keeper after all? 🤔
  7. PFT is on board, nice essay laying out the fundamental inequity of this current version: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/01/23/overtime-rule-undermines-nfls-best-weekend-ever/
  8. Same thought here—I was one of the pump the brakes guys on Allen in terms of JK still being the best we ever had—but tonight sealed the deal for me. I watched Jim play some lights out ball, but Allen is on another level—by the time he’s done, I have little doubt he’ll have left most QB’s of all time in his wake.
  9. Kook Aid regular reporting for duty.
  10. Same—but this one was just too much for me to grapple with /process alone…really need the TBD community after something this heart wrenching.
  11. It is eerie how the timelines mirror each other a bit—that would be pretty cool if we dominate for the next umpteen years, but it will require slaying the chiefs dragon at home in the playoffs—no more sleepwalking halfway through the regular season!
  12. I’ll buy that. But we need to snag home field throughout playoffs from hereon out.
  13. Back to the drawing board on D (& DC). Our O? Superb.
  14. You’re not wrong. After these playoffs, I’ll second that. Our D was shameful.
  15. Such a mind numbing end where you knew the coin flip would decide it, screw the NFL OT rules.
  16. Allen is now officially the Chuck Norris of 4th quarters.
  17. Allen did everything he could short of subbing in for our anemic 4th quarter pass rush. Allen is the freaking man, at least we all know that now with emphasis. He’ll get his before it’s all said and done.
  18. Obviously “Yam” rhymes with Sam, #14 Sammy Watkins’ given name, and he’s no longer a KC deep threat, so…14 dollars should do it!
  19. The way Josh’s been running why not throw him in there on the scout team as Hill for a series or 2? 🤔 (Yes I know, we are in full-on Chuck Norris can do anything territory here with Josh)
  20. Well mystery solved given Josh’s interview today posted above—I wonder if BB has ever done this for any other QB? Pretty cool overall in the moment when it’s all said and done. imho.
  21. Great observations OP; I’d also just like to add that I’ve always been impressed with the sheer length of time Allen is able to keep the fake in place at the RB’s bread basket level, while Allen is reading his keys/selling the fake—it forces the D to commit one way or the other, and gives Allen another split second lead time in letting the pass routes develop. It’s another small but vital detail imho. As a former wannabe QB in an earlier life, I can attest firsthand on the coaching points of emphasis involved with play action, and actually giving it sufficient time in the RB’s (almost) grasp is easier said than done, but Allen has excelled at it.
  22. Glad to see the blue pants were banished for this playoff rematch!
  23. MNF, 1993, Bills at 3 Rivers Stadium--some drunk slob Steeler fans after the game in the concourse sucker punched my buddy (who was wearing Steelers gear) from behind and shoved me into a railing all while stealing my prized Bills hat before we knew what hit us--we were just 15 yr old kids! Security was shoving pastries and pierogies into their mouths somewhere far far away from the scene (I think). So I guess that's not really the definition of a "fight" then, is it?
