  1. Carrying the pile for 5 hard fought yds
  2. Statue of Liberty taken by DiMarco for 75 yards rumblin and stumblin...oh wait I dozed off just now and was daydreaming again. DA hands off to Shady for 3.
  3. Not jumping anything to obtain talent sufficient to immediately get separation, make contested catches and overall inject a boost of trust/confidence to whom ever is slinging the rock back there. Because how much of the struggling or pedestrian nature is due to the QB or to who is being thrown to we can’t possib know without decent talent at the WR spots. That said, I do agree that we don’t need to mortgage the future for one 31 yr old
  4. Especially since those same posters will feel like his sample size in Buffalo will have been more than adequate to draw such a logical conclusion from...I mean, he’s had 2 years to rest up that cannon and been on the roster 2 weeks, so he should’ve been our version of Mahomes out there! Or something to that effect. Oh, and don’t forget the complementary threads of fire everyone responsible for bringing him in. Have I missed anything?
  5. Im always a sucker for a complimentary continental breakfast, yummm!
  6. That’s one thing Belichick has always been good at—pushing the envelope on formations and play designs to generate just that little bit of extra confusion or separation to exploit—pair that with talent and now you’ve got something
  7. He got us as close as anyone (ala Kyle Ortin) to the playoffs during the Drought, but yeah it was frustrating to be right there and then couldn’t beat Pittsburgh’s scrubs when it counted
  8. Not great at math, can someone crunch the numbers for the average if you don’t remove the 2 outliers mentioned? Also, what about personnel variables as in, a franchise type QB versus a Trent Dilfer type?
  9. I’m not trying to pick on you or get into an extended back and forth with both of our minds already made up, but you’re kind of making my point—Rosen was one of the ones declared most “pro ready” and that he was incredibly accurate, etc. The knock on him was potentially attitude but not his abilities under center. And yet, here we are. Draft prognosticators are fumbling around as much in the dark as you or I from the outside looking in. The Bills took a swing for the fences which I applaud, because for too long the Bills gave us nothing but playing it safe and look where that got us. The Bills selected the QB (of the ones left on the board at 7) with the most physical tools objectively, and most upside for his ceiling. I can’t fault them for going for the home run. If we had Rosen and he turned in his performances in a Bills uni, you’d probably be one of the fans saying something about how the Bills got it wrong again too, so really, where would that leave us? Lamar? Mason? No thanks. I’m still cautiously optimistic that we’ve got good things coming our way after JA comes back.
  10. So are you ready to say the same thing about Josh Rosen after his last epically historically bad performance? Just curious if the same hot take standards apply across all of the rookies or just for JA?
  11. 41-38 Buffalo in OT. DA leads amazing comeback after shaking off first-half rust. This time, Reich comes out on the wrong side of this score.
  12. Sobering food for thought, for everyone sporting a moniker on this board along the lines of, "wrong Josh": "Quarterback Josh Rosen threw two pick-sixes in the first quarter, becoming the first rookie quarterback in NFL history to accomplish the feat. He finished with five turnovers, with another interception and two fumbles. He's one of three players in the Super Bowl era to be sacked six times, have five turnovers and throw two pick-sixes, according to Elias." http://www.espn.com/blog/arizona-cardinals/post/_/id/30834/mike-mccoys-days-as-cardinals-oc-likely-numbered However, it would have been just as unfair to judge Rosen as a future HOF if he'd managed to convert the 2 pick-sixes into Cardinals TD's, so 3 TD's on the night IMO...
  13. Hard to believe that there are a lot of players playing for Reich today that weren't even born yet when Captain Comeback had the greatest playoff comeback game ever. Liked this quick article about it, wanted to share: http://www.espn.com/blog/indianapolis-colts/post/_/id/23674/captain-comeback-colts-coach-frank-reich-can-claim-the-title
  14. Your scenario (if it pans out, which I actually hope he does win us some games, obviously) would equal short term gain for long term pain, because every snap/rep that JA sits out as a healthy scratch, is one more rep he will have to gain in additional development time once he inevitably does start again. And no matter how great DA does in spot duty, he's never more than a band aid temp fix, even if it's through the rest of this year. Originally, I was ok with NP (or whoever else was going to win the QB competition out of camp) starting the year and going for as long as success would dictate, before turning to JA as the franchise heir--was always a big believer in a newbie sitting behind an older starter he could learn from and be eased into this (although a more established veteran even for that first plan would've been nice). However, this would not be going back to that starting line--too much has happened. Now that JA's actually started games, he needs to see it through as soon as healthy. Otherwise, his confidence, growth curve, morale and overall respect of his teammates for him at the position all suffer IMHO.
  15. Seriously what did he really think would be the end game of his tenure there in front of the #1 overall pick? That it would turn into Favre/Rodgers, with Favre holding Rodgers at bay for years? I watched BF play at the highest level in this league, and you sir, are no Brett Favre... Hue, resident genius who finally coached the Brownies to the opening of the beer lockers across town...HOF bound!
  16. Sully’s column in the BN after this game was a gem. That was before paywalls were all the rage too. I couldn’t find a usable link to the actual post game article, but I did find one that he wrote a week later, with a similar flavor. Njoy https://buffalonews.com/2009/11/02/blast-from-super-bowls-past-could-give-bills-needed-spark/ It’s like playing 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon with these guys like Daboll & DA, except substitute a Ryan brother!
  17. ^^^^^^This. The problem is McBeane are at the end of a 17yr compilation of comical ineptitude, which necessarily = a shorter attention span/thin patience from much of the fan base, quite understandably. But they broke the drought ladies and gents. That’s not speculation that’s not fake news, that’s a fact. That should earn them at least the room to mold this roster through a couple of drafts and FA periods before anyone loses their minds. Have there been missteps? Obviously. Have there been good solid moves/coaching as well? You bet. At least they didn’t whiff on TB12 in the 2000 draft, who the Bills could’ve picked 5 times over before NE got him. My point is, give them space to figure this thing out, and let them finish cleaning up other regimes’ messes. They’ve earned that right after 2017. Anyone, inc. all current Bills QB’s, could throw for more yards if they had better WR play, or the talent surrounding even Josh Rosen, who looked abysmal tonight BTW.
  18. Well, with your choice of name it’ll be tough for JA to ever win you over, eh? Kind of limits the ceiling he can ever have in your book without you looking silly. But hey, let’s revisit @ end of this year, maybe you’ll be the smart one!
  19. I’m warming up to the idea even though I’d rather see Allen playing in order to develop, but under the circumstances this hopefully provides some temporary stability
  20. I asked Beanie if there was another water left in the fridge and that guy told me no!
  21. (1) Grew up in small town Western PA, right around the river bend from East Brady, rabid Steeler country. May sound crazy, but the "Welcome to East Brady, Home of Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly" larger than life sign started me on the road to fandom as a young pup. I started following JK's career from there, at the beginning of the SB years' run, and became the lifer Bills fan I am now. (2) I've grown to like rooting for a team where you know the fans are true, real and not bandwagon, because this team has rarely offered a bandwagon to jump onto. If you root for the Bills, then there must be some sort of loyal quality about you, otherwise, why would you even stick around? (3) 1991 Steeler game where JK threw 6 TD"s in a rout--getting on the school bus the next day with quiet, sullen Steeler fans for once not giving me any guff--priceless.
  22. Sad to think of how many man hours have been poured by the Bills into now 3 different QBs besides JA, both in the classroom and on the field with precious 1st team reps, that mean zilch for the future of the franchise beyond 2018. JA needs to get back into this huddle ASAP!
  23. We just need him to be serviceable, with the understanding that JA needs to get right back in there once healthy, because now that we’ve crossed the Rubicon with JA starting this year anyway, we need to keep going with his development until we’re sure of what we’ve got—otherwise it’s even more of a wasted year. Does anyone really think DA will be around past this or at most, 2 seasons? They probably had to beg as it was, for him to sign at all.
  24. Hey I actually hope you’re right, but that’s asking a lot of a career journeyman who’s been out multiple years and is (presumably) not in game shape or anywhere close
  25. Wonder how bad DA will have to be in order to be benched for NP? That could be its own OP
