  1. I get heat of the moment and hot takes with emotional override engaged--and everyone has the chance to say their piece, vent, whatever. I try to stay off the boards for at least a couple hours after an L like this because I know that's what I'm going to see overwhelmingly. But overall I think the vast majority of the posters I see on here (granted I'm still relatively new here, but have been a lifetime fan) try to go the extra mile in backing up their opinions with some sort of factual references, even if misplaced at times. I'd say by and large most lifer Bills fans have to have some optimism about the future, otherwise, what's the point of staying on the wagon as a Bills fan to begin with? If you're not a deeply invested fan, then just go away without over the top comments and leave the rest of us to our collective misery if that's what you think will be all we ever get down the road. I've seen enough FO and HC dysfunction since the '99 season started us down that road, to know when it's culturally endemic versus by circumstance, and this still does not have the feel to me of previous regimes' fundamental root rot that could never grow a healthy tree. Everyone can see that our D has answered the call since the Charger game and improved radically over a short stretch--where are the posters that railed on McBeane saying they couldn't even get that side of the ball going? I'm going to watch this play out the rest of the year with some optimism because they've earned at least that.
  2. I agree with you in principle IF that was the plan; but I don’t think they meant to let it come to this point—that’s where the roll call of unfortunate and unforeseen events on the offensive side come into play (oline losses that really rolled after the draft, KB acting like a scrub and Daboll sucking leads the list)
  3. Short answer is, don’t know yet. Also, the talent drop off on the offensive side of the ball (Oline unexpected losses, WR attrition, new crappy OC) would’ve done Tyrod no favors this year either, and after a string of likely poor performances on top of what we all already knew about his limitations, and I’m sure most of TBD would be calling for Tyrod to be benched asap. I don’t remember Tyrod really being able to put his team on his shoulders if things weren’t good from the get go, so would the results so far really be all that different in terms of wins and losses?
  4. We need the biographies of 386-388; am genuinely curious. NP should have pulled a hammy after the TD throw, then left everyone scratching their heads in here wondering what if he did suddenly get his head on straight?? Now that would’ve been something.
  5. I didn’t consider that. The Bills would have to pony up some $$ after to try to keep him but at least you know what you’re getting in terms of quality starts
  6. And I might join that club at some point, but I still think it’s premature without quality around him to catch it, and questionable OC to boot. So I’m not going to judge on a final basis. Allen was never supposed to start and now who knows what’s going on with his injury status. Dark days at OBD.
  7. Agreed from Bills standpoint. Roseman hasn’t shown a willingness to deal him though and who would the Eagles have behind Wentz then?
  8. Let’s revisit in 10 weeks.
  9. Love it. That’s when we tend to have our best games, when everyone counts us out, writes us off. Bring it on, go Bills!!!!!!!
  10. I think this is a bridge too far—McBeane has to straddle competing lines between fan rumblings, owner egos and long term vision during the build process, so while they have some built in credit to make it hurt in the short term, I think they’re also cognizant of not going too far with it all at once (dead money moves notwithstanding), to where hope would be completely crushed under the weight of a Cleveland Browns type season ala 2016, 2017. So my roundabout answer is no, don’t see that many additional high quality parts going up for grabs from this deficient enough squad, and they will eke out more wins this season than we think, as a direct result IMO.
  11. I think that era is somewhat transcendent for Buffalo because they were soooooo good, compared to any era of the franchise, that’s what gives it legs and keeps breathing life into it (and is helped along by us old 40+ crowd); reminds me of growing up in western PA, where the 70’s Steelers were such an institution in and of themselves, to where even though I missed ever watching them live, you couldn’t help but be infused with all sorts of knowledge about them as a cultural thing really.
  12. The place where the greatest comeback in playoff (let alone regular season) NFL history, against the Houston Oilers (another relocated franchise for you young pups) occurred, should be placed on the registry of national parks as a landmark not permitted to be disturbed.
  13. My heart goes out to you. No, really! And now we are reduced to not being allowed to have nice things as a franchise.
  14. Am totally guilty of that too (see my 9/15 OP topic below) and in a lot of ways I still feel stuck in that era as a Bills fan <sigh>. But in our defense as 90's era geezers, what exactly has the franchise given us since then in the way of good memories replacement??? 15. KB looks more like TO and backs up his bark with sure hands and yardage bite
  16. And Daboll's play call designs started it all with the WR's getting separation all day!
  17. The "4 Falls of Buffalo" had a great segment on it--Bruce and Thurman watching those replays and commenting on the flow of the game was a great behind the scenes account. Thurman would easily have been the game MVP had the kick made it through. Here's to hoping we get a future SB moment that we will actually want to re-live over and over in a good way.
  18. Dang he went from 48 to 57 in less than a Bojorquez hang time to the 20... Especially when it’s based on incredibly promising potential!
  19. All I can think of when I see this guy is “Turducken”
  20. Gettleman took a calculated risk that Eli would return to form if their FO passed on a QB with the 2nd overall pick this year—problem is that Eli has mobility on par with my 2.5 week old and not even TB12 booster shakes will help that anymore. Realistically how much can he have left before retirement? Wonder what the Giants fan forums are looking like these days?
  21. Great Scott!! I just realized why our sorry WR’s can disappear so easily from any actual game action! They’re not seen and not heard, perfect ? ^^^^^^This. If nothing else, is it too much to ask to bring back the red helmets?
  22. Thanks for posting the presser highlights/nuggets--good for folks like me who don't have time to watch all of it live, but still get the information from it quickly while on a quick break during work day.
  23. Plus who knows how Shady’s shady off-field drama plays out—still lurking in the background, and wouldn’t it be such a Bills outcome to have Goodell jump down from his ivory tower sometime still this year and suspend him 4 games or something like that, right after the Bills turn down an offer for him that includes immediate WR help. Can totally imagine this happening, reflexively as a long suffering fan.
