  1. Time to start a new streak with JA at the helm!! It’s pretty cool to actually look forward to game days now instead of dreading them during that 4-5 week super bad run this year. Go Bills!!!!
  2. This just makes me like the kid even more for some reason—maybe because it gives off a ‘man of the people’ vibe? No caviar from 1st class cabin for this farm boy! ?
  3. Elway for what it’s worth was similarly ineffective that day to the Bills’ D credit—he and Kelly basically mirrored each other’s stats. I’d forgotten Kubiak played at all, and led all qbs with 136 yds that day! lol. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199201120buf.htm
  4. Hunts entourage made claims that’s how it went down in terms of her using the n word, but that’s a he said she said, and believe what ever you want about what I’m about to say, but my worst moments in my life have never involved striking a female. My point is simply that there are some things you never do, and unless it’s a matter of life and death (she pulled a gun or knife on him) which this was not, it’s never ok to do what he did, period. I get you want to dress it up in the cloak of the nfl’s conduct policy and whatever suspensions come with that and that should be the end of it, but I have no respect for him and the fact that you have spent so much of your time defending Hunt’s indefensible conduct against a 19 yr old woman, means it’s pointless to try to convince you of just how untenable him coming to Buffalo should be. I’m done with this.
  5. I do remember that—was def a defensive struggle, I think our home field was critical to the outcome—although the Bills also did plenty of playoff damage on the road during those days. The 92 AFC championship comes to mind in Miami, as well as the divisional round against Pittsburgh the week before.
  6. Add Elway to the mix of HOF QB’s never able to get directly past the Bills in the playoffs while Kelly held the reins—but of course he got his after JK retired.
  7. “THIS WAS NOT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE” Ummm ok OP, because assault and battery on a stranger female/19 yr old hookup option for an NFL star IS SO MUCH BETTER. Seriously dude, get a grip—all you have to do is tap into your moral compass to hopefully realize we shouldn’t want anything to do with this, ever. There are things that as a matter of principle transcend sports/rooting for a team, and at least for me this is one of them. Just imagine this happened to your mom, daughter, sister, GF, whoever—would you still be so inclined to root for him?
  8. If anyone needs a breather from this joyless topic, check out the Robert Foster thread next door—highly recommended and should restore some seasonal cheer!!
  9. Ok, I needed that after all of the Hunt steaming pile over in that thread—restores my hope that all is not lost in this league yet. Awesome gesture, RF gets it. Go Bills!!!!!
  10. The problem for the NFL from a PR standpoint is that it’s apparently so easy to expose the league’s hypocrisy on this issue, that a run of the mill sleazy tabloid like TMZ can make a cottage industry out of it.
  11. lol, yes, most of my relatives up in the rural north of western PA have little conception of what traffic/drive times are in metro A; my poor mother had to basically close her eyes when I picked the folks up from Hartsfield the first time and they couldn’t get over how many lanes there were on 85 ?
  12. So sad that Harvey Levin used to be the color commentary on the old People’s Court with Judge Wapner—you may or may not be too young to remember that one, but I grew up loving that show.
  13. “Hot” takes that sizzle into a soggy nothing burger <sigh>. Do we have a separate wall of infamy for all of those thread titles? ? never mind, too much bandwidth required for that. The Stadium Wall hosts well enough I suppose!
  14. Seriously—they are like the WikiLeaks of Goodell’s nightmares—how does this keep happening? They have the science of stalking LAX down for sightings of Caitlin Jenner and the like, and yet they also get scoops like this with ease? Embarrassing all around bro!
  15. Currently sit OTP up towards Buford/Hamilton Mill area— When I first moved here about 15 years ago, I lived off North Druid Hills close to all the downtown action. Fast forward through marriage and kids and career and voila, here I am in the suburbs! I also have in-laws in the Kennesaw/Marietta area so we make the cross-town trek on 85/285/75 a good bit, which would get me over a whole lot closer to your neck of the woods in Vinings for sure on occasion. Buckhead would definitely be more of a field trip at this point lol
  16. Haven’t been to an Atlanta TBD get together like this yet but would love to check it out! I do have a new baby at the house (born the same day as JA’s magnificent leap September 23rd, like to think those events are somehow related lol) so I’m not quite footloose and fancy free, but with enough heads up I would definitely try to get out
  17. This literally all makes me ill. First off, zero respect for any “man” that puts his hands on a female, period. Hunt should feel free to shove, smack and kick Lawson however, and see how that works out for him instead—maybe Fournette can give him some pointers on leading with a roundhouse to a helmet. Unbelievable scumbaggery on display, and of course it takes a video tape months later for the team and/or league to do jack squat a la Rice, because of the PR nightmare—but make no mistake, morality has nothing to do with it, or it would’ve been handled back then with or without video. Finally, where is the league’s Cracker Jack security unit set up after the Rice debacle to make sure no stone would be left unturned in subsequent league investigations of this sort? They also couldn’t locate the existence of this tape either? Is TMZ Sports the 2nd coming of a Woodward/Bernstein journalism outfit utilizing NSA hacking tools to get the story? Bunch of chumps all around. The league better get its act together, or this problem of coddling domestic abusers within their ranks will make the anthem issue look like the easiest issue Goodell ever tried to solve.
  18. D2D, if you’re nuts then I must be looney tunes because the last couple weeks especially have sure seemed like the semblance of a master plan finally coming together even if changes to it have had to be made on the fly along the way. And so long as we remain mathematically alive to boot, I can continue to dream of a Cinderella run as I play the lotto on the side. That’s enough for me on a rainy Friday down here in the “A” today.
  19. Getting into the film review weeds ? Donuts, you bring your lunch pail to TBD work everyday! Good slo mo description to help explain the result—and I couldn’t agree more. I’m not worried about his completion % long term as he shows he can hit his guys and it will come up naturally if he keeps up his overall noticeable progress. Very sad, very true. Hopefully though it’s a very small # subset of the very public haters
  20. Great thread, and good dig into the championship stats to help back it up. However, it is undeniable that D's overall have a lot of work to do to catch back up with the O's in terms of strategies to maximize the ways that are (legally) left in the NFL rule book to counter all of the ways that the NFL has affirmatively tried to rig the deck. The ones that can figure it out (arguably our own Bills are getting there) at least give themselves a chance, paired with a decent offense, to counter the Running Rebels of UNLV types out there. But small point as to the Saints last night, it is almost impossible to run the table in the NFL no matter how good your team is or record setting on O, and they were due for another stumble through self-inflicted errors to take only their 2nd loss this year. Chances are that they will bounce back and put up 45 in the next game. Personally can't wait to see what we can do with the shiny new offensive toys McBeane are working on bringing in for next year, while keeping this potentially monster D's nucleus in place along the way.
  21. That’s 2 too many for many in the “wrong Josh” category pre-draft and since, because, you know, still the wrong Josh ?.
  22. Ummm...<thinking bout it>...no. Like your creativity but bring me some offensive side talent please instead. This guy is Brian Cox to me, although I do give him slight credit for going up to JA afterwards with a handshake
  23. He could’ve become a bitter withdrawn recluse following either the tragedy with his son, or his recurring bouts with cancer even after it was supposedly cleared the first 2x. (Could we have blamed him if he had?) But instead he comes back every time with a smile and selfless encouraging words/deeds for others going through similar battles—all while still finding the time/energy to remain involved with the Bills and their functions along with his own foundations/camps. He’s become an even better role model off the field worth having a new generation of kids look up to like I did all those years ago, only now from the standpoint of real life lessons off the field. God bless you Jim and I hope this was a big step in the right direction for you.
  24. I can't hate on that statement Mofo, you're probably mostly correct, I am also a softie when it comes to our alumni from a certain era that shall remain nameless, only clue is my avatar
  25. I love FR. A total class act, awesome for the Bills (for you really young millennials out there, YouTube yourself some “greatest NFL comeback of all time against the Oilers”) and wish him nothing but the very best. But to say that this coaching hire and not taking Frank was the Pegulas’ greatest mistake ever? C’mon man—that’s grossly premature and not backed up by the data even to date.
