  1. "She was just this big beautiful gentle giant wanting to use our boat as a scratching post," LOL. I'm sure she got that big by constantly being late for dinner. I'm guessing the fact that she was already dining on a readily available meal of sperm whale had nothing at all to do with her lack of aggressiveness during this "encounter." "Ramsey and other divers were able to swim next to the great white, but warned boaters and other divers to stay away from the dead sperm whale site due to safety issues."
  2. Word. Colonel Hessler in Battle of the Bulge is one that sticks out for me, as well as one of the villainous Bond assassins in From Russia With Love. Great actor
  3. Sorry for your loss Fires
  4. Really sorry to hear about that AFL, and yes, as a parent I cannot even imagine that.
  5. This is how I feel right now about our chances to ever crack this case :
  6. Give your loved ones an extra hug/kisses today, and every day you are blessed to have with them after that.
  7. Except for all of the "Carolina yet again" posts on here complaining that's all McBeane will look at, and that would veritably crash & explode the server room (is there still such a thing?)
  8. Could anyone really have done much better than he did with what he was given (or not given) around him, especially as a rookie?
  9. For those of us who need consoling after reading that, the Bills are still the only team to ever have WON 3 afccgs in a row, to say nothing of 4. (Cue the but I’ll take just 1 of his SB rings in exchange in 3...2...1)
  10. <yawn>. When do voluntary minicamps start again?
  11. Agreed--and also in Carolina, that was their first expansion year. To say nothing of the Lions, a perennial non-contender, so no question he was hamstrung by a lack of talent around him everywhere after post early 90's Buffalo.
  12. The HOF QB throwing his way (who had plenty of weapons to throw to) went out of his way to request Tasker be converted to the WR unit. That tells me pretty much everything I need to know. As for the stats, Tasker didn't get to play WR until late in the run, so his window to rack up was also necessarily narrowed. But watch him play as was also suggested above, and you'll see the natural talent/good hands that he had.
  13. Depends--how many lines will he be required to memorize at a time?
  14. Just trying to help a brother out for a "Hall" bump . Hello Peter King, are you reading TBD?
  15. I love Frank, always have. Awesome off the bench, and an even better person off the field. One of the greatest backups of all time, imho. However (you knew there would be one), he did get his crack at starting elsewhere beginning with Carolina, and Kerry Collins took it away from him after 3 games. Other stops along the way as well, ended similarly. "After giving the Bills one more comeback victory late in the 1993 NFL season, Reich signed with the expansion Carolina Panthers in March 1995 to start off their first year. He threw the first touchdown pass in franchise history to former Bills player Pete Metzelaars in Memorial Stadium in Clemson, as Bank of America Stadium was still under construction. The Panthers had drafted Kerry Collins as their intended franchise quarterback, but Reich was the starter for the first three games until Collins was deemed ready to take the starting job. He was sacked 9 times on Sep 3 at Atlanta, a franchise record he shares with Cam Newton. Coincidentally, Reich and Collins hail from rival high schools in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, with Collins having started his high school career at Cedar Crest's crosstown rival, Lebanon High School (although due to age differences, Reich did not play against Collins in high school). Reich was then signed by the New York Jets where he started for seven games in 1996. In 1997, Reich signed with the Detroit Lions, reuniting him with his coach at Maryland, Bobby Ross. Reich appeared in 6 games in 1997, all in relief, and 6 games in 1998, including 2 starts. Reich retired following the 1998 NFL season. In 2014, NFL Hall of Fame Executive Bill Polian, who was general manager of the Bills when they drafted Reich, called him "the greatest backup quarterback in NFL history." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Reich#National_Football_League
  16. IK Enemkpali. He would've probably straight up punched Gronk in the nose over the Tre hit. From the LOL Archives, "Rex Ryan wants to build a bully in Buffalo. He now has a jawbreaker in camp." https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/bills-claim-ex-jets-lb-enemkpali-punched-geno-report-article-1.2323594
  17. Pete Metzelaars (honorable mention, Keith McKeller, who was the "K" in "K-Gun"), so that Josh would have a bona fine TE receiving and blocking threat, and who could've made the Miami last drive catch for the W. Steve Tasker would also make a timely addition to our ST and/or WR units.
  18. Jim Kelly. Oh...whoops. But wait, according to Joe Pa, he would've been a heckuva linebacker as well. ^^^^^^This.
  19. Being totally serious now, I was in Cumming just yesterday for work, it's about 30-45 minutes away from where I live. I've seen some other head scratcher names down here since moving to GA in '03. Maybe you could build a cabin on Round Knob in the north GA mountains--or Hopeulikit is an actual place, along with Climax and Braswell. Ball Ground is another winner. I'm sure other states have their own--Intercourse PA comes to mind. Perhaps one of the other ATL posters here can weigh in as well, like @Augie?
  20. Ha! Wonder how many people actually got this lyric? Good call
  21. Back then the Steelers' home field advantage in 3 Rivers was basically as good as Rich Stadium. Living there at that time, I had more close up info on them than I ever cared to. A monster defense under Cowher with Kevin Greene and Greg Lloyd who were always a tough out, and they always had great backs to go along with it. Eric Green was basically unstoppable as a TE, he would consistently burn the Bills in the red zone because they had to respect the run so much. You're right, not having Bruce that day really hurt us, and the Oline that kept Kelly in a clean pocket and opened up Mack truck sized holes for Thurman the week before against Miami, folded like a cheap suit in Pittsburgh, as tended to happen when playing the Stillers in Pittsburgh during that time. It was a tough day as a Bills fan for sure. Honestly though, maybe I had blinders on and refused to see that the end was nigh, but I still felt like the Bills could've put another deep playoff run together in 96, but the Jags came out of nowhere to put finality on the end of our dynasty. All the more reason to enjoy/savor this Miami clip.
