  1. So wait, you're saying don't "fire everyone" anymore?
  2. We need to look at the definition for "brilliant." Having or showing unusual and impressive intelligence. https://www.thefreedictionary.com/brilliant Does Rex have this? I would say Belichick does in spades. I would also say Dick LeBeau, Wade Phillips and Dom Capers are in this echelon for example on defense. Just bc he was our HC and not the DC, he defacto was in charge of the D, in the sense that it was his system that was installed here, and he even brought brother Rob in to help communicate his vision to the players. The results speak for themselves. Just my opinion, but I think an "impressive intelligence" would figure out a way to make the system digestible to the players to where they can run free to make plays, without overthinking themselves and getting caught in the weeds, thus playing from behind the 8-ball, the way we often did during his tenure here unfortunately. We know from a pure talent standpoint, the Bills D was in good shape from when Schwartz left. What happened thereafter is already well documented. And as a previous poster already pointed out, what may have been "brilliant" to start, was countered by other teams and Rex never properly was able to adjust.
  3. I kinda feel like we have so many needs, it's almost by default than anybody we take in the draft will be "addressing an area of need."
  4. In the words of a coach who's name I can't even remember, many many moons ago at a small NCAA Div. III school, "I'll take that!" (He was watching line drills and liked the effort) .
  5. Owning it is the first step to rehabbing your mojo--and BTW, there are other posters who still can't let the wrong Josh theme go, and have backed themselves into a corner where they have to hope that Allen busts, and it doesn't look so far like that's any kind of a safe bet any longer. Welcome to the light!
  6. Hate to pull the one-up card, but we still own the prime real estate for post-season SB angst, no? Gugs, would you rather be watching the Bills from the awe-inspiring confines of the Rogers Centre for 8 games per year? Count me out on that.
  7. I think that goes towards maturity and an understanding that he's just started scaling the mountain, and has earned nothing yet besides the right to become even more scrutinized this coming season. The Bills have to translate the growing pains of 2018 into additional W's in 2019, we all know that. But I feel like the foundation is being properly laid. How do you rank your feelings comparatively about the upcoming season with any since the start the turn of the century?
  8. Plus McD indicated in the article that they will make sure Palmer is familiar with the terminology/concepts they want JA to continue to work on--what's not to like about this, right?
  9. Thanks for posting Transplant. Good to see JA grabbing the offseason by the proverbial horns and not taking an extended vacay somewhere waiting around for minicamp to call. He just flat out makes it easy to like him as the face of our franchise going forward.
  10. Thanks for posting Yolo. Could not be happier for Jim and his family. Cancer is insidious, and doesn't care your age or social standing. Appreciate that Kelly has not forgotten the medical teams that worked with him on his road to this outcome, nor the fellow cancer sufferers he's gone out of his way to meet and lift up (see example vid link below). A true selfless cat, all the best going forward! https://www.buffalobills.com/video/watch-jim-kelly-surprises-patients-at-ecmc
  11. I also about fell out when I read that nonsense from Stephen A. What a farce of a talking head full of mush. Rex has a graceful way about him where he makes you laugh all the while he’s stealing your lunch money (to give to Rob who’s still hungry ?)
  12. They will also have to install a real fireplace chimney so that brother Santa can drop in for Rex's defensive scheme wizardry meetings https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/10/nfl-rob-ryan-long-hair-pink-jacket-meme-jokes-twitter-reaction-photos
  13. Who has approached him about other DC openings in recent seasons?? Hopefully he still makes it back to the AFC East someday so we can be appropriately entertained at his expense again.
  14. If I'm in his family, I'm probably going with, Alex, let's aim for a hiking trip sometime next year with the kids...and brush up the resume for the analyst's chair a la Theismann. Hard to imagine how bad this injury was, and still is for him. Hope he recovers fully though.
  15. That apparently 13+ seasons of having Brees + a Lombardi still can't undo
  16. Actually depending on the jurisdiction involved, there already is such a mechanism on the books. Here in Georgia for example, it's codified in OCGA section 9-15-14 (enjoy the legalese while skimming through it): https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-9/chapter-15/9-15-14/ (a) In any civil action in any court of record of this state, reasonable and necessary attorney's fees and expenses of litigation shall be awarded to any party against whom another party has asserted a claim, defense, or other position with respect to which there existed such a complete absence of any justiciable issue of law or fact that it could not be reasonably believed that a court would accept the asserted claim, defense, or other position. Attorney's fees and expenses so awarded shall be assessed against the party asserting such claim, defense, or other position, or against that party's attorney, or against both in such manner as is just.
  17. Appreciate the distinction--and glad to see another convert. Allen's been so fun to watch develop and surprise people along the way, I hope my expectations won't be too unrealistic for this coming season (at least a WC playoff win).
  18. Not so fast my friend. Nothing is off-limits I'm afraid. Check out this fear-mongering from over a decade ago, that I have little doubt was/is intended to help pave the way to culling the herd, so to speak, from a social engineering standpoint : https://www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change/cow-emissions-more-damaging-to-planet-than-co2-from-cars-427843.html If nothing else, will probably raise my cheese prices
  19. I love my coffee, but for the love of pete, don't ever take cheese away!
  20. Great share! Some here might be worried this is just more Bills PR propaganda to sell hype over results, but I prefer to view it through the prism of we won 3-4 more games last year precisely because of Allen’s progress made and Daboll figuring out what would work best with his skillset. Really, would any of you have been shocked if we walked out of last season 3-13 the way things were going before Allen came back from injury?
  21. Just FYI, only in ATL will they cancel schools and everything else, along with emptying the store shelves, for even the chance that we get a dusting. My fav is watching local news gear up like our tectonic plate just swapped out with Greenland’s. It does snow prob once or maybe twice in a season, and usually is gone by the following day; but wow, those 24 hours are something to behold. And no one here has adequate tires for even that, to say nothing of driving skills for it. So my life and limbs are still prob in more danger over that one day on the roads than yours for an entire winter ?.
  22. Doesn't mean I have to like it, or be forced to worship at the altar of the almighty hood-rat. But I'll stop myself now, in order to respect the spirit of the thread that the OP respectfully requested. Go Bills!!!!!!! I respect that Shady, but I really want the Bills with Allen to one day be able to straight up beat the Pats with Brady and BB at the helm still. That way, I won't feel like there always needs to be an asterisk next to our climb to the division top with Allen at the reins, know what I mean? I want to be able to beat the best to become the best, I think it will feel that much better--but if they all retire this year, I'll figure out a way to come to terms with that too, lol.
