I remember this vividly, tough day as a Bills fan--in hindsight I should've been able to see it was coming, but at the time I just figured you couldn't keep the guy down long enough to keep him away from playing in the NFL, especially given how the last game he played ended against the Jags. We also found out later that shortly after this press conference, Jim discovered he was going to have a son, Hunter...may he rest in peace. So happy for the guy now though, in terms of how he's taken what life's thrown his way since football, and turned those negatives into positives for other people's lives as well--that's the hallmark of a real life hero to me, just my .02 cents.

May through September in good 'ol Hotlanta is plenty warm and toasty for my taste--anytime traveling back from a Northeast visit, coming off the plane is like an instant choking wet blanket of humidly hot air that is so noticeable I'll basically start sweating right away...not a pretty pic. High 90's with that makes it not worth going outside before sunset, imho. On the colder side, prob some January nights growing up in western PA with neg wind chill while shoveling snow off our ridiculously long, steep driveway. Good point Donuts--there's always a ripple effect that starts with the QB--and that can be negative or positive. Look at Brady--how many FA's that signed with NE during his run have openly acknowledged that they wanted to catch passes from him, and that they were giving themselves the best chance of going deep in the playoffs as well? Gronk also stating this is the only guy he wants to catch passes from, the list is endless. Is it always sunny in Boston (no pun intended) and 80 degrees? This cold weather narrative could apply the same to many of the NFL's northern/midwestern legacy franchises, except it doesn't when their franchise caliber QB's make them attractive landing spots for FA's, coaches, etc. During the drought, how many fine player folk were beating down the door to OBD when the likes of Edwards, EJ, or Van Pelt were slinging the rock? Who needs real winter weather to close the schools down anymore? That's the crazy part (one of them), we actually usually looked competent coming out of the gate--even in SB27, we did some things that made me think this was going to be the one during the 1st quarter before the wheels came off. Josh has his work cut out for him, but I have faith that we have the right guys in place in building a solid foundation for a springboard back to playoff glory.
