  1. Great post OP. Being a Bills fan is the very definition of loyalty and hope of things yet to come, regardless of whether or not a payoff is ever realized. Man, it makes the good times, few they may have been, that much sweeter as well.
  2. However, could TB12 have still made that throw over this equivalent of a goalie "wall" in front of him?
  3. I hear you, but I feel like New England has shown many times that you can still win it all in today's NFL with a group of good, not necessarily great, supporting casts around a franchise QB. I feel like we're getting plenty solid, now it's time to see how it all gels on the actual field.
  4. Good article over in the news section I wanted to highlight in case you haven't seen it yet, relevant to this thread: https://www.forbes.com/sites/curtisrush/2019/05/01/could-the-buffalo-bills-be-on-the-threshold-of-a-new-golden-age/#17d79c326812 He makes a compelling argument, imho. The question is, will it take 3 years for this era to get really really good like the K-Gun Bills, or can we fast forward in the second year of Allen?
  5. As my readership of actual print has declined, so has my comics intake--we used to get the Sunday paper delivered here, and my wife knew to always pull the comics out for me first. This thread is kinda making me want to pick up the paper again, lol. Anyway, have always loved Garfield, Blondie, and the classics of Calvin/Hobbes, Peanuts. Also, any Prince Valiant fans from back in the day, or Hagar the Horrible?
  6. But...most importantly, can he catch passes the same way as Kyle? https://www.buffalobills.com/video/best-moments-from-kyle-williams-career-finale-week-17
  7. What a shame. With a great HC type name like Hank, "Hammerin' Hank the Bull"(ough) would've just rolled off the tongue if his teams had been able to steamroll the division in his time...ah well. On to better times my friend.
  8. Definitely right to always point out context Donuts, beyond just the stark numbers. And FWIW, I also did not mean for my list to be exclusive, as in the modern era plenty of additional finalists may be found (Jauron, Fewell, Williams, et. al). But hey, at least we never elevated Rich Kotite to our HC!! The Jets can never live that dude down, can they?
  9. I really, really do not want to dispute that, as I am inclined to agree! However, we have many deserving candidates...Jim Ringo? Kay Stephenson? Hank Bullough? A real Rogue's Gallery of ineptness to choose from. So glad it looks like our trajectory is miles ahead of those clowns now!!
  10. My old hometown (sort of—I grew up north of there in Jim Kelly’s neck of the woods) Depends what you’re in the mood for—to grab some drinks hit up the South Side, Mario’s is a good one; best food is Primanti Brothers (awesome awesome sandwiches); history can be had at Point state park (original British settlement fort there) as well as an authentic WW2 sub moored next to the Carnegie Science Center—very cool all around. If you have time to catch a Pirates game at PNC Park, that’s prob the best park in baseball with awesome views of the city; for best views otherwise, ride the Incline up to an overlook point on Mt. Washington, best city views period. Have a good time!
  11. And those plays can often make all the difference in the game—conversely, our STs that were horrible like last year, can cost dearly. Tasker made game altering plays look routine, and then for his encore act, became a solid receiving option for Kelly. Love that guy’s motor. Hall in my biased book. Thanks for keeping the flame lit, OP!
  12. ...I see what you did there! For an out of towner like myself, streaming OBL with Murph and Tasker during the noon hour is a welcome bit of Billsy propaganda in my day, and they do land the most notable guests, unsurprisingly. I know what I'm getting with them, and I'm good with that. As for the rest, I'll occasionally tune them in, but there's only so much Bulldog I can handle before I need to change the channel--and the morning crew in particular is too much hockey at the expense of the Bills, imho.
  13. Such a difference made through the back end of last year and over the course of the offseason with this roster, together with other recent rebuild examples (Rams) has me guzzling the kool aid like I’m about to be airlifted into the Sahara. Why not us? Why isn’t it our turn to drive deep into the playoffs as a worst/first Cinderella type story? I love Josh Allen. I’m appreciative of the roster overhaul work done by this regime to put him into position to succeed. I love that McD didn’t lose the team even in the worst of the 2018 doldrums, and that there was a palpable rebound effort to close things out—there is a plan going from the trenches right now outwards, and it’s being executed, which is more than I can say for previous regimes going back to Butler. Put me down for extremely optimistic, as I contemplate which kool aid flavor to try next.
  14. It’s all about Josh Allen. Sound familiar? It should, because that’s the only litmus test that really matters here, and certainly for the 2 yr period mentioned. This staff is able to help measurably improve him year over year? They stick around. Any regression and the seats get correspondingly warmer.
  15. Look, at some point merit wins out—or the chaff will get swept away like yesterday’s complaints about Daboll’s play calling. My point is, does anyone here seriously think that Chad Kelly will stick on an NFL roster past cut down day if he can’t rely on his own arm to make the grade? Reich has won a SB as part of a coaching staff, and been a part of many other teams that have gotten there. Methinks he will smell a fake/poser the minute he sees one, and will do what’s best for his team now. If CK can make it, it won’t be because of JK’s laurels—it will be a legit talent basis. Have you actually watched his college tape before poo-pooing his prospects? He makes plays, sorry.
  16. "Championship Effort"---that's a freebie, feel free to utilize OBD.
  17. For me one of the more notable nuggets was the line about guys from other teams getting cut over the next few days for cap reasons who are being replaced through new draft picks; for me that raises the additional possibility of adding to certain position groups like WR, TE or Edge, where we could use more depth/competition. In other words, yet another source of additional help before we roll with what we’ve got?
  18. We don’t know that actually happened. Also, the kid is not bereft of talent. He can flat out play. And haven’t we heard the line about he’s done his time so now let him play from how many other examples? The NFL never cares if you’re a bad apple or not, only if you have talent. And compared to more egregious examples (virtually the entire 2018 KC skill set players), his hardly registers on the meter.
  19. Great post OP! This time of year tends to bring out the Chicken Little sky is falling types, precisely because the draft is such a subjective science and every draftnik out there thinks their take is the best one, and any deviation therefrom equals sure failure. I agree with your hesitation re DK or Butler slides, but overall I think they did a great job with once again improving our roster significantly from where we were before. That’s the key—by any objective measure, we are better than we were before the draft/FA. Take some deep breaths my cynical many times burned fellow Bills fans!
  20. I didn’t realize that hot takes like this weren’t just an in-season occurrence? Saying we are in the same boat as 2018 at skill positions is simply not credible. We are significantly improved on paper already, and now need to see how it all comes together in camp/games. Cheer up Charlie, last year was rock bottom.
  21. Given this regime’s already noted ability to turn over rocks and find legit contributors where others have passed (R. Foster maybe most glaring example), I’m still trusting the process and giving them benefit of the doubt; and it does look like this kid has solid tools—I’m really surprised by his 40 speed as such a big dude—love that!!
  22. Coy did a fantastic job with that intro! I was hoping for WR though. Prove me wrong Beane!
  23. But Donuts, did you answer the fundamental question of whether or not he’s also a jerk IRL? Inquiring minds want to know! (post of the day for you BTW!)
