  1. I would ask when exactly they knew they had the basis for something special going, why, and whether or not they really see signs of the same thing happening now—their guess/insight would be more credible than mine I know
  2. Ouch. I would say don’t quit your day jobs, but for some of these, yes, that too
  3. Stealing checks all day, Shawne DeAndre Merriman. Certainly fit his nickname of “Lights Out,” as while here in Buffalo, the curtain certainly dropped without much of anything worth seeing from his Act II. While we’re at it, let’s throw Buddy up there with him for that and so many other worthy moves.
  4. Not NFL specifically, but this must’ve been painful for the production crew: “Mathers, it’s a pleasure to have you open the show...” (at the 1:17 mark)
  5. Good point. I was a bit surprised none of the media asking him not good questions could figure out a way to ask a good question that would force a different response, but hey, that's above my pay grade I suppose.
  6. So I came across this gem in my local media market, transcribing Takkarist McKinley's interview where he literally answers each and every question with the response "good," and it made me wonder what you have as your favorite NFL interviews--funny, bizarre or both. Coaches, owners or players all fair game! https://www.wsbtv.com/sports/falcons-star-answers-every-question-with-good-in-bizarre-interview-video-/954079355 "McKinley didn’t want to fully discuss his offseason when he met briefly with the media Thursday. Here’s how the interview with the local media went: Good afternoon, how are you doing today? “I’m good,” McKinley said. How are things going for you in the middle of the OTAs and so forth? How are you feeling about that? “It’s going good,” McKinley said. What are some of things that you are trying to focus on here in the offseason program? “I’m just trying to be good, get good,” McKinley said. While you’re trying to be good, coach (Dan Quinn) said last week that he has you at some linebacker there, saw you working on some takeoffs today. How are those things coming? How new and different are they for you? “It’s going pretty good,” McKinley said. After McKinley tried to leave, he returned to answer more questions. A couple of years into the NFL now, showing backup for offseason workouts, how does it feel different now versus the past few? “Pretty good,” McKinley said. There were a lot of Falcons fans that were following the news this summer in California who were concerned. What should they know about what you were going through? What’s the message to them? “I’m good,” McKinley said. I don’t know if you heard (about) the support. I just saw a lot of it on social media. What was that like for you, hearing your supporters reaching out? “It was good,” McKinley said."
  7. But what to replace them with? Something mandatory or nothing at all? Expand TC? Teams have to be able to have the time to install their playbooks with the players and coaches on the field and having the ability to interact with one another--yes it's voluntary but at your own schematic peril if you're the new guy especially.
  8. Because we are well acquainted with what trending in the wrong direction looks like, no? I'd say Bills fans have become somewhat expert in divining through front office/coachspeak BS, which is part of why Beane owning up to mistakes he's made along the way (e.g., the QB situation last year) is so refreshing. How can you take issue with the moves they've been making during this offseason to get significant roster upgrades across the board?
  9. In Germany they call cellphones a "Handy" which I always found funny, because it's actually an English word used to describe a product that Americans & British don't use that same word for.
  10. Which will hopefully translate into more W’s. Thanks for clarifying and I agree they should both get props.
  11. at least it wasn’t a total washout for the D given JA tossed like what, a TD every 3rd pass or so overall? Just wanted to make sure you didn’t miss this highlights rundown from Tuesday already posted elsewhere: https://wgr550.radio.com/articles/opinion/capaccio-allen-was-terrific-tuesdays-ota-session
  12. Great post. We are winning way too much already this offseason.
  13. Sounds like a challenge. How would a thread about Bill Belichick’s choice of boat names strike you?
  14. Make yourself productive. Start a thread about how disappointed you are in the NFL's war on personalized shoe laces or something.
  15. Some posters accusing the OP of putting out "misleading" information and just "click bait" when it's nothing of the sort, qualifies in my book, but maybe I'm just reading too much into it. The OP definitely took it as such too though, fwiw.
  16. Don't misunderstand me BTW, I am not saying Lynn is a terrible coach by any means, or doesn't deserve any credit for what he's done so far out West. I just didn't think that it was an apples to apples comparison from a purely roster/talent standpoint their first 2 years side by side. I would definitely agree that going forward it's much more similar than not, on paper at least.
  17. I don't understand how this is any different than prognosticating who the surprise rookie of the year will be, our overall W-L record, or Allen becoming MVP this year--the point is, no need to jump on an OP for putting something out there, where at a minimum they follow it up with accurate facts to date and well reasoned arguments. Anyone is free to disagree with the take, but definitely no need to make it personal, ever, even if the take ends up in hindsight being faulty.
  18. Small point but telling I think, is that the San Diego roster was significantly upgraded pound for pound throughout Lynn's 1st 2 years (e.g. Bosa, anyone?) whereas the cupboard for McD was tossed overboard, barren, after year 1 (the reasons why has been the subject of plenty of other threads). I think McD has had to make pizza pie out of a lack of dough, although that's obviously changed for this year, and the comparisons from here on out would be more comparable, imho.
  19. Your observations about the deficiencies from his rookie season are exactly why the early reports from these sessions is so encouraging (it's precisely the no huddle situations he's excelling at most thus far); he's obviously spent a lot of time working on the areas he was most deficient in during the offseason, his foot/hips/shoulders placement mechanics in particular, and the other thread discussing the Chris Simms workout session/interview with him at the Adpro complex is very enlightening in this regard. All of this combined with the roster upgrades around him, especially at Oline and WR/TE, is why my optimism "cup doth brimmeth over."
  20. Not put too fine a point on it, but may I suggest adding “fettered” between the bolded phrasing above? More distinguishable that way, imho.
  21. This describes my usual state of mind with that team. Why do they corner the market on unique wrinkles? Coach “Dabes”is already letting Josh call his own series of plays now and then this year, so maybe that’s the start of something that could turn into a reasonable facsimile of where Daboll came from with NE.
