  1. XXVIII is right up there for me, as the Bills actually were in control of that game into the 3rd quarter against the vaunted Cowboys...
  2. In actuality, @Joe in Winslow has had no problem calling out DEM BILLS plenty of times even recently, whether for some of their draft moves this year or for their engagement with the 90’s greats being too much—so this take is just plain wrong.
  3. C’mon bro, it’s the offseason, and frankly I think we ALL have seen threads started that were truly a waste of time. This one is legit given the return from injury unknown for Milano. Let’s lighten up a bit.
  4. Had to listen to the radio call on CBS Westwood One network of stations; can’t remember the name of the announcer but he was great, matching my rising hysteria in the 2nd half!! A defining moment as a lifetime Bills fan—we’ll always have that shining moment to go along with the SB losses
  5. Also rampant in the legal profession that I’m in; a lot of legal advocacy consists of cherry picking the most one-sided precedent you can find to present to the judge adjudicating whatever the matter happens to be.
  6. They were just beat out in the honorable mentions by the tandem of T Edwards/Jauron, unfortunately
  7. Flat out shocking to see Jauron elbowing his way to #10...just shows the degree of ineptitude this franchise that we are lucky or unlucky enough to love, has suffered at the hands of football ignoramuses through the years with few notable exceptions. Here’s to hoping we have turned the corner!!
  8. Milli Vanilli—but only if they can bring their prerecorded vocals dub tracks with them.
  9. Would it be asking too much for the red end zones to come back? And the red helmets for that matter?
  10. Just because it’s fluff doesn’t mean it’s not true. Carry on.
  11. What stands out for me concerning Beebe's time as a Bill: --Earned the nickname "Steeler Killer" for this gem of a game on 9/8/91 (10 grabs, 112 yards, 4 TDs) https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199109080buf.htm --Infamous Leon Lett Super Bowl character/grit example--found a pretty cool random article about the impact of this play in folks' collective memories--favorite line is ''I know you won your ring in Green Bay,'' he said, ''but you won our hearts here (when you were) in Buffalo": http://chautauquasportshalloffame.org/banquet2016.pdf https://rbj.net/2018/02/01/don-beebes-never-say-die-play-is-still-super-25-years-later/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqGNTUQSuPM --One of the fastest 40 times ever clocked (admittedly hand-timed) at 4.21 seconds (must be truth to this however, given the amount of ground he had to reverse field on to catch Lett in time) https://www.thesportster.com/football/fastest-forty-yard-dash-times-in-nfl-history/ --Oh by the way, dude played in 5 super bowls, would've been 6 if he hadn't broken his leg shortly before XXV. And of course he won the championship with Green Bay. Legendary? Obviously to each their own as to how to define that based on the OP's argument, but in my book he's right there.
  12. Losers. Can't say I will shed any tears if he and the mother encounter some semi-similar prison justice. No quarter for anyone who hurts a defenseless child like this--I trust the child's soul has found peace that she clearly never had while here on earth.
  13. The Bills scored their 1st TD on a drive where they never even had to convert a 3rd down, FWIW. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXV "First Quarter The contrast in strategies was evident during the first quarter. After forcing the Bills to punt on the opening drive of the game, the Giants consumed 6:15 off the clock by marching 58 yards in 10 plays to score on a 28-yard field goal from Matt Bahr. In that drive, New York ran five rushing plays and five passing plays. However, the Bills struck right back on their ensuing possession with a five-play, 66-yard drive that took 1:23 off the clock, including a tipped 61-yard completion from Kelly to wide receiver James Lofton that set up Scott Norwood's 23-yard field goal to tie the game 3–3. After forcing the Giants to punt on their ensuing possession, the Bills' offensive strategy started to work to perfection. Kelly led the Bills on a 12-play, 80-yard scoring drive that consumed 4:27 and moved the ball so effectively that the team never faced a third down. Kelly completed six consecutive passes (four to Andre Reed) for 62 yards, and running back Don Smith capped it off with a one yard touchdown run to give Buffalo a 10–3 lead early in the second quarter. Smith's touchdown run was his only carry of the game and the last carry of his career. Reed's 5 first quarter receptions were a Super Bowl record." (emphasis supplied).
  14. Will EP mode be good enough despite low film quality, or should I risk recording in SP mode but possibly run out of recording time too soon? Inquiring minds need to know!
  15. Don’t take this as a dig; which games on our schedule do you have penciled in for a W, currently?
  16. Anytime we try to compare players across the generations, don't we always hear the catcalls from the viewing gallery that football is radically different every 10-20 years? Wouldn't it be more appropriate then, to have top 10 lists limited by decade instead? That way your comparison control groupings are playing by the same rules, philosophies, etc.?
  17. According to our esteemed beat reporter (soon to be ex) Mr. Rodak, projections that this regime will be canned even for a no-show non-playoff 2019 year, are a non-starter: Can the Bills' decision-makers survive missing the playoffs in 2019? Yes. Coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane earned goodwill from fans in 2017 when they led the franchise to its first playoff appearance since 1999. That kept fans off their backs when the Bills finished 6-10 last season, which was partly the result of trading quarterback Tyrod Taylor and drafting Josh Allen -- and then watching their developing rookie quarterback become injured midseason. Fans understood Beane and McDermott did not see Taylor as the foundation of a long-term contender and are more hopeful Allen can be the franchise quarterback. As long as Allen takes a step forward in 2019, Beane and McDermott can survive into 2020 without making the playoffs. The top decision-makers seem to have sold the fan base on incremental improvements over instant gratification. -- Mike Rodak I humbly note that Rodak must not be much of a reader of the goings-on here at TBD. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26995546/answering-biggest-2019-questions-all-32-nfl-teams-division I definitely feel that so long as we see continued improvement on O, in particular the maturation of Allen's game in the right direction, McD & Co. are not going to be let go short of a dramatic implosion of the team, which by definition is not going to happen if Allen progresses the way we hope/expect him to in year 2.
  18. If Marv, the OC, or anyone else on that coaching staff disagreed with how Kelly was running the O during the Bills' brief time on the field that night, then he could've been overruled in terms of the weight/emphasis of the playcalling at any time. This is armchair/Monday Morning quarterbacking at its best. Had the initial deep strike (61 yds) to Lofton resulted in a TD as opposed to getting bogged down for a FG, for example, then we're all still saving our XXV world champs memorabilia today. Let's not forget the Bills D could not get off the field on 3rd down (how many 3rd and longs did the G-men convert again in this game??) to save its collective behinds. The point is, it was a team loss, a close one at that, no single man or coach to blame, imho.
  19. Some swords are too sharp to be used. You sir, have crossed that line. Leave family baggage out of it. As a talking head, you really have no idea about the Reid family dynamics and what happened or didn’t behind closed doors—sometimes a parent can do everything “right” and things still don’t work out. At some point a kid growing up has to own their own choices in life. Pick on the Chiefs, there’s plenty of material enough there this offseason.
  20. Couldn’t agree more. But this guy was somewhat taken aback by your analysis: FYI, his eyes’ Twitter page is of course a must. https://mobile.twitter.com/Crazy_Gase_Eyes
  21. Went for a run after the late afternoon storms rolled through here today, and the suffocating wet blanket of hot humidity was still in full effect—hard to believe it’s still worse down by you! It was hot enough not to venture outside the rest of the day today beforehand.
  22. This will be the first in person TC practice for me, and am looking forward to going to that more than the preseason game actually. So is there a secret signal I need to be aware of to recognize any of the rest of you as fellow TBDers at the Spartanburg scrimmages?
