  1. Biggest LOL quote for me from this article: "You know, if you’re not talking football, if you’re not thinking about football, then what are we here for” I thought you were here to audition for Wrestlemania 40-something? https://www.wwe.com/shows/wrestlemania
  2. Please. Before you spout off about the innocence of Hill’s domestic violence, a bare minimum search on Google pops up this little reality check. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.si.com/college-football/2015/08/21/tyreek-hill-oklahoma-state-football-domestic-violence-battery-plea-agreement
  3. I don't wish ill on any NFL player in terms of injuries (ok, maybe back in the day I wouldn't have shed a tear if Bryan Cox had been carted out of Rich Stadium following his rude gestures to the crowd) but there would definitely be some poetic justice here given the physical harm he's dished out to defenseless family members. Just sayin'.
  4. Not to make too fine a point of it, but you cannot simply gloss over the fact that Tesla/Musk have received significant subsidies (per vehicle) from US and European taxpayers through their respective governmental handouts, without which it's difficult to make the argument that Tesla would still be a viable company by any traditional measure. Even today, Tesla continues on its roller-coaster ride of 'will they or won't they' be profitable this time around...and before starting down the road of so many other companies also receive tax credits, etc., the point is simply that to paint Musk with the broad brush of self-made by the bootstraps type genius with the Midas touch, is misleading. Not to put words in @Ol Dirty B's mouth, but my guess is that's why he took issue with your characterization. Is he a smart guy still? Sure, no question. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-11/its-confirmed-without-government-subsidies-tesla-sales-implode https://www.nationalreview.com/2015/01/tesla-and-its-subsidies-phil-kerpen/
  5. Well, at least you never changed your username to make such buffoonery official.
  6. This will be Daboll’s last season in Buffalo, as he is going to be promoted to HC elsewhere based on his 2019 results. Prolly the Browns.
  7. If Astro misses a practice due to illness, you should ghostwrite his column notes for him. Great job—bookmark these predictions, I think you’re on to something.
  8. Counterintuitively perhaps, of those 3 RB matchups, Bell actually scares me the least—I think it’s great we face him in Week 1 as opposed to 4, he will have a missed season’s worth of rust to shake off, and his vaunted “patience” to pick and choose his spots to burst through a seam will be sorely tested as his newly minted gangrenous OL is shaping up to be more Cardinals-esque than Steeler gold, which Bell has never had to deal with in his pro career. We’ve seen firsthand what poor OL play will do to a premier back, no? Looking for the Bills’ DL to feast accordingly. Also, kind of tough to play to establish the run if Josh, Bease and Smoky Brown are busy putting up quick strike points in the first half... [Edit: adding link to Peter King’s column discussing the same issue for Bell, from this morning—jump to the Jets TC notes portion to find.] https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/07/29/cam-newton-panthers-training-camp-nfl-fmia-peter-king/
  9. In other news, the Cardinals’ high round draft picks of late have been slightly worse than this...
  10. Are you calling from a walkie-talkie right now? If so, that would be epic . Over.
  11. “No no no, that’s still not close enough. When I say that Beasley has been all up in my personal space after every play, I’m saying he was like from me to where my hand is right now. What’s with that little Smurf??”
  12. Wow, is this the same guy who revived the NFL dreams of Peterman and McCarron after they were taken away by the Bills? Just sayin’
  13. Astro notes have quickly become appointment reading for me—and def more entertaining than the media guys getting paid to cover the team year round...does he also do any in-season game reviews?
  14. TC threads are like Christmas in July after the drought of the offseason, lovin’ this!!!
  15. ^^^^This; plus his timely humor scattered throughout like a smothered, covered and scattered Waffle House hash brown dish that cures what ails ya!
  16. Isn’t Allen’s completion % directly affected by whether or not his receivers hold on to the ball?
  17. Post of the day, hands down bro!
  18. Where was your hot take positivity when Josh was completing 72% yesterday? Just curious
  19. It’s not easy finding negatives when they are needles in the haystacks of positivity emanating from SJF this week!
  20. Great post, good insight. Just think, all of the quality depth you referenced has been accumulated in the course of only one short offseason—by taking our poison pill salary cap head on in one year as opposed to punting the football for the sake of middling space over longer period of time, the needed flexibility to make this happen was won. Beane should be up for exec of the year if these pieces all come together in such a short turnaround!
  21. I don’t necessarily disagree about what Allen was surrounded with to start last year, but you also have to account for the cap issues that were being purged which affected how many quality FA’s could be brought in, plus the draft capital used in getting Allen and Edmunds to begin with, as opposed to being able to go “hog wild” with FA and the draft this year to help Josh out. That said, the coaching hires could’ve been better from the get go, and QB room issues as well. But all of this appears to have been worked out in time to start this year off right and giving Josh the tools he needs to take the next step.
  22. If I keep doing this, I hear my abs will get flat in no time! (I kid because I love :))
  23. At least you qualified that hot mess, so I’ll add my own too—with all due respect, and given the way Josh ended the year and has worked through the offseason, I think your train of thought will suffer as follows...
  24. And why no franchise deserves a dynasty of sustained success more, imho!
