  1. Consistency is what we are lacking--we DO have sufficient personnel in place to run an efficient and well oiled offensive machine--the proof of that is when things have been clicking in spurts, such as Josh's 4th Q league-topping ratings and at other times where the Bills look unstoppable, in rhythm and marching down the field for 75+ yard scoring drives--the issue is when those sorts of drives are followed up with sad 3 and out duds, too often and make our D's margin for error that much more "living on the edge." I do feel like those issues are fixable--but it starts at the top and that has just not been good enough in our losses, particularly against a Browns team that was doing everything in its power to still give away the game to us.
  2. It’s about time for Fitz magic to fizzle out again...anyone have a Fitz cycle timeline update we can hang our hats on?
  3. I didn’t wear my Allen jersey shirt for the 1st time on game day—I’ve learned my lesson and will prolly have to burn the golf shirt I was wearing instead? That seems only right under the circumstances.
  4. While I appreciate your offer not to respond here as an all-in Allen believer, I have to say you’re doing the equivalent of relieving yourself into the wind while driving down the highway—it’s going nowhere you want it to. Allen is here to stay and most definitely not the overarching reason we struggled to put it away Sunday. Room to get significantly better? Of course, but that’s also because what we can see his physical tools allow for as a ceiling is tops in his class—he just has to put it all together and that takes time, which I’m well aware you don’t want to give him. But this FO will, so long as they run the show.
  5. I know this O has potential to do good things consistently and with an aggressive spirit, but for whatever reason Dabs has seen fit to outsmart himself by not featuring Singletary despite the fact no one has proven capable of actually stopping him yet! He’s the key to unlocking the deeper, longer developing route trees of 30+ yds that we haven’t seen gel yet, imho. Give him the freaking ball and then pounce on play action/screens when the rush over pursues/plays the run gaps—how is this rocket wizardry again? I’ll be the first to admit I’ve vacillated on Daboll going from the fire bandwagon early last year to being stoked he was sticking around for this year, to now wondering what is going on with his apparent Andy Reid-like distaste for the run, but without the timely screen attack that Reid could substitute with.
  6. No. He’s a fruitcake of distractions that’s now cycled through 3 teams in the past calendar year who’ve all washed their hands of him for various reasons, despite his talent. What gives anyone who voted yes, any confidence that he would magically assume the mantle of a good soldier, put his head down and just play ball over the course of the entire 2nd half of the season? He would implode over some perceived slight and try to drag the team down with him, just as he has everywhere else. Besides, he’s not the missing link to a championship this year, is he?
  7. Small point of order, but the Bills did win in the playoffs in Pittsburgh right after the Houston comeback game in Jan of 93...but as far as reg season you’re probably right?
  8. Bitter bitter bitter loss. I felt up to the end that somehow someway we would pull this one out given how awesome our D played to keep them off the board inside the 5 TD line, but it was for naught. I hope losing this one doesn’t end up costing us late in the season!
  9. All non-trolling contributions should be able to post, but expect to be flamed appropriately for dum-dum type threads that offer no reasoned analysis/substance. Help me to still respect the takes I don’t agree with...something like that.
  10. Remarkable to say the least--all the best to him going forward!
  11. I feel a new thread topic coming on--what do you do in the (hopefully) infrequent event that the Bills lose to take your mind away from the L? I'm with ya, I don't relish jumping on here and seeing how many new knee-jerk reaction hot takes I have to scroll through before finding anything with substance to review. That said, sometimes misery also loves company, and we have certainly turned that trusim into a fine wine, well aged over the course of the previous generation, no? In other news, were you aware that your favorite other thing during a week after an L, also boasts Vlogs devoted to it? A quick perusal comes up with this--I especially appreciate the finer points of the rainbow trout! Carry on. http://macramecollective.com/news/
  12. If it is, dare I say it, then I may have to take an extended sabbatical away from TSW. My keyboard will prolly catch fire just from the burning hulk of what's left of TBD melting down. Post of the day x2! Your certificate suitable for framing is being printed with all due care somewhere along the coast in Indonesia as we speak...I can't promise it doesn't involve non-green warehouse production practices, but we do what we can in the 1st world to get by!
  13. Well said--I include myself in the guilty group that tends to do just that--letting a former player's on-field failures, perceived or not, influence how I refer to them after on these same boards. I've enjoyed taking digs at EJ, Maybin, Losman, Tuel, Merriman, et al, and I'm sure IRL they are fine upstanding men for the most part. But Josh seems to be even more set apart in terms of his community engagement and genuine spirit off the field for helping kids especially. If he does flame out, I will try to remember your spot-on admonishments accordingly!
  14. This should end well. https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2019/11/06/bears-quarterback-mitchell-trubisky-trying-to-get-tvs-turned-off-inside-halas-hall/
  15. "I am not going to elect to go there..." You're right Sean, I wouldn't willingly either. You're in a much better place in Buffalo.
  16. Is there a wall somewhere close by, that I can run through for my QB?
  17. Bingo--I was thinking something similar. Should be a great trip at that time!
  18. Right at the end, after they’ve already gotten some crisp to them, splash a bit of your fav white wine to that deliciousness and let it reduce down on low-med heat—yessir!!
  19. Post of the day Gunner, seeing as how you appropriately worked in the word “fortnight” and in no way referenced the game thereby!
  20. Lol, mine is 4 also, how old do you think they need to be in order to really appreciate the Bills home game experience?
  21. Sweet!!! More Miami for me in the A.
  22. Ask Stafford how many playoff wins his stats lines have gotten the Lions for example?
  23. Contrarian! But fear not, there is a sizable contingent of endemic naysayers who will happily take up that mantle
  24. Contrary to what you infer, I’ve heard all of the above give plenty of individual critiques throughout the season about what they’d like to see the Bills improve on, I haven’t heard any of them claim the Bills are even close to perfect or set at every position—have you? There’s a difference between seeing a glass half empty vs half full—maybe that’s what you’re talking about?
  25. I will go on record now, that I will absolutely bury myself in Buffalo Chix dip, spaghetti and meatballs and prolly some turkey tetrazzini casserole the evening of our 1st round playoff victory...the skyline chili that I’ve heard so much about—what’s a good recipe you’ve got I can make myself down here in the A?
