Hmmm...you mean the suits in NYC never saw a tepid reaction to the LA Chargers before the relocation of tearing out San Diego’s heart? Color me simultaneously shocked and awed! Of further note, since it’s out there, we all know it won’t stop with London. Mexico will prolly get a franchise, continental Europe...the NFL commish will basically become a new Bond villain taking over the world one TV market at a time... Who knew EJ Manuel would be such a trailblazer—he already pulled off the feat of being the 1st QB to lose a game in 3 different countries, before it would become a normal deal!

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, apparently ?

If we can actually beat up this clown show enough this weekend, I'm sure the Browns fans will be throwing everything except the...kitchen sink...from the stands afterwards -

I was somewhat surprised that King, who now and then will throw us a bone in his FMIA column, mentioned us exactly zilch this AM, but he did have a blurb about that Washington team being epically bad...oh well, let's keep sneaking up on people for as long as possible, so we may not get their best shot on game day until we are already set for the playoffs? Plus it's good to have our guys feeling like they need to play with a prove-it chip on their shoulders. -
Let's please please please see a lot more of these types of Hoodie post-game pressers this year..."we just didn't do anything well enough tonight..."

Any fanbase that sticks around to bridge a 20+ year gap between great eras is bound to count within its ranks a lot of truly nice, good people--salt of the earth types indeed! -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - “Bottom Feeding”
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great write-up, thanks OP. Singletary's emergence makes me regret questioning the timing of the pick in the draft, and I'm sure Allen's ability to hit on deep play action will also improve in the weeks to come the more that Singletary shows off credible #1 chops running the ball. -

Jerry Hughes - $14 Mil - Why

As many upthread have also already inferred, I find myself caring less and less about the per season take of our current roster, given the total amount of cushion Beane & Co have built into our salary cap since last year--almost an embarrassment of riches where I wonder how on earth we will be able to even spend up to the mandatory levels required by the league? Hey, down marker holder guy, yah, you over there, here's a cool 150K from Terry, for the quality of the enthusiasm you bring every day... -

After picking the Jets to win 10+ games, more than Buffalo, it must be difficult to find out the Bills may just be a hair more competent than the Jets staff... -

Would you prefer an offensive wunderkind like say, Adam Gase? The Bills are winning, but leave it up to some in our fan base to complain about style points along the way. -

What "type" of fan are you? Coming clean
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As a fan who "chose" the Bills (Kelly's hometown right by me) given where I grew up in western PA Steelers country, I've been used to being in the minority as a Bills fan anywhere I've lived in the States since then too. Pretty or ugly, doesn't much matter to me as long as it's a W! I'm just as happy when our D-line registers a sack, as I am over a chunk play on offense. We all know this year's iteration of our Bills hasn't even hit its stride of what it can accomplish, so I remain optimistic we are going to put it together to peak at just the right time for a stretch run. At 5-2 with problems, we've all seen much worse to complain about the past 20 years! -
Appreciate your work Kelly, I hope you get a good bounce-back type game this week to write about!

The Morning After the NFL Trade Deadline
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great post OP, it's obvious you took some time to work through/reflect on the last 24 hours in a well-reasoned way, as opposed to for example, flying off the handle about the Bills not landing a WR in his 30's that's not going to get us to the SB this year anyway...in the immortal words of Kenny: -

Ah, like an upgraded Derek Anderson 2nd QB coach type? I could get behind that. -

Color me surprised if these guys stick around for another year of NFL grind with such obviously diminished skills? -
And yet...the most effective measuring stick to evaluate the growth curve of a (very) young/green QB would be his actual class of peers coming out the same year. For Kelly, that was Marino/Elway et al. 1983. For Rivers, it would be Big Ben, Eli, and so on. How exactly would that comparative approach be considered "Silly?" Silly would be trying to compare Josh this year to say, Tom Brady, draft class 2000, in his 19th year, no? So again, are you willing to also call Darnold a bust? Mayfield? Rosen?
