  1. Let this year play out--I firmly believe that the improvement shown by Josh post-elbow injury last season as well as the increased short/intermediate % gains made this year, bode well for his shot to become the franchise we all hope he will grow into, sooner than later. He passes an eyeball test for me that no other Bills QB post-Kelly has.
  2. As a purely hypothetical matchup I admit that could be intriguing. Maybe the nuclear fission scientists over at the "Madden 20____" offices could make that happen.
  3. Out of principle alone, no. I never hated Bledsoe the way I can't stand the insufferable Tommy, and was glad to get him. Then, well, that resulted in some sad endings here as well, and I'd be worried what we'd have to pay just to get Brady here, versus the results. Let him go on to LA where he really wants to be, and we'll see him when we see him sort of thing. So you're definitely in the 'Belichick can't win without Brady' camp?
  4. I think all of it in balance, stout on the run and bullish on O, go hand in glove. Also, will be so happy once you are permitted to change your avatar back to something more befitting a Bills fan
  5. Kelly enjoyed throwing a pick or 2 himself back in the day—it just was usually sandwiched around a bunch of yards/TD’s, wins...you get it. I’d be fine with that.
  6. I can dig this. Let’s see some of that swashbuckling spirit that gave us this:
  7. I appreciate your wit! Made me chuckle ?
  8. Stats without appropriate and necessary context can be tortured to admit to anything, and therefore are without meaningful substance. The folks against JA will use them as they see fit, and those who support him will point out the deficiencies in the information presented. Let’s see where we are at by year’s end.
  9. Allen’s floor versus Taylor’s ceiling. Hmmm, was it too “journalistic” to bother with providing context to those numbers such as years of experience? What’s that you say? That wouldn’t mesh with your narrative? Thought so Jerry...
  10. Even the single point that you grudgingly give McD as a backhanded compliment is still significantly more than could ever be said for Jauron here, and that’s just as a baseline. With all due respect, McD has shown an aptitude for identifying issues during the week and setting about to at least try to solve them for in game situations thereafter, and continues to work to improve himself as well as those around him. That may not be happening as fast as some here would like, yourself included, but doesn’t change the fact that he is here to stay for the foreseeable future, and will continue to get better over the course of a long season—last year’s start versus finish should’ve given you plenty of evidence for that as it is. How he was able to squeeze 6 wins out of that collective rabble claiming to be starters in the NFL on offense remains a minor miracle—and this year with 9/11 of the starters being completely new pieces, I’ll withhold a final rendering for McD until we finish off the year, but so far at 6-3 he’s still captained us to the #1 WC spot.
  11. If by He you mean Jauron, then sure I might buy what you’re peddling. But I’m quite sure the Bills didn’t draft Allen in a trade up to 7 overall, just because McD wants to win by 3 pts as you put it, 13-10. That makes zero sense. Don’t forget he learned at the feet of Andy Reid and was part of a prolific Panthers team as well. Cool those oven mitts before handing off the hot potato take please.
  12. Call him out for legit reasons such as mistakes with the clock or pulling back too much on the last drive yesterday, but to claim that he just doesn’t care about the offense at all and doesn’t hire well is simplistic and disingenuous, sorry. I’m also not aware that Jauron ever led the Bills to a winning record and/or playoff berth during his ignominious tenure here?
  13. Consistency is what we are lacking--we DO have sufficient personnel in place to run an efficient and well oiled offensive machine--the proof of that is when things have been clicking in spurts, such as Josh's 4th Q league-topping ratings and at other times where the Bills look unstoppable, in rhythm and marching down the field for 75+ yard scoring drives--the issue is when those sorts of drives are followed up with sad 3 and out duds, too often and make our D's margin for error that much more "living on the edge." I do feel like those issues are fixable--but it starts at the top and that has just not been good enough in our losses, particularly against a Browns team that was doing everything in its power to still give away the game to us.
  14. It’s about time for Fitz magic to fizzle out again...anyone have a Fitz cycle timeline update we can hang our hats on?
  15. I didn’t wear my Allen jersey shirt for the 1st time on game day—I’ve learned my lesson and will prolly have to burn the golf shirt I was wearing instead? That seems only right under the circumstances.
  16. While I appreciate your offer not to respond here as an all-in Allen believer, I have to say you’re doing the equivalent of relieving yourself into the wind while driving down the highway—it’s going nowhere you want it to. Allen is here to stay and most definitely not the overarching reason we struggled to put it away Sunday. Room to get significantly better? Of course, but that’s also because what we can see his physical tools allow for as a ceiling is tops in his class—he just has to put it all together and that takes time, which I’m well aware you don’t want to give him. But this FO will, so long as they run the show.
  17. I know this O has potential to do good things consistently and with an aggressive spirit, but for whatever reason Dabs has seen fit to outsmart himself by not featuring Singletary despite the fact no one has proven capable of actually stopping him yet! He’s the key to unlocking the deeper, longer developing route trees of 30+ yds that we haven’t seen gel yet, imho. Give him the freaking ball and then pounce on play action/screens when the rush over pursues/plays the run gaps—how is this rocket wizardry again? I’ll be the first to admit I’ve vacillated on Daboll going from the fire bandwagon early last year to being stoked he was sticking around for this year, to now wondering what is going on with his apparent Andy Reid-like distaste for the run, but without the timely screen attack that Reid could substitute with.
  18. No. He’s a fruitcake of distractions that’s now cycled through 3 teams in the past calendar year who’ve all washed their hands of him for various reasons, despite his talent. What gives anyone who voted yes, any confidence that he would magically assume the mantle of a good soldier, put his head down and just play ball over the course of the entire 2nd half of the season? He would implode over some perceived slight and try to drag the team down with him, just as he has everywhere else. Besides, he’s not the missing link to a championship this year, is he?
  19. Small point of order, but the Bills did win in the playoffs in Pittsburgh right after the Houston comeback game in Jan of 93...but as far as reg season you’re probably right?
  20. Bitter bitter bitter loss. I felt up to the end that somehow someway we would pull this one out given how awesome our D played to keep them off the board inside the 5 TD line, but it was for naught. I hope losing this one doesn’t end up costing us late in the season!
  21. All non-trolling contributions should be able to post, but expect to be flamed appropriately for dum-dum type threads that offer no reasoned analysis/substance. Help me to still respect the takes I don’t agree with...something like that.
  22. Remarkable to say the least--all the best to him going forward!
  23. I feel a new thread topic coming on--what do you do in the (hopefully) infrequent event that the Bills lose to take your mind away from the L? I'm with ya, I don't relish jumping on here and seeing how many new knee-jerk reaction hot takes I have to scroll through before finding anything with substance to review. That said, sometimes misery also loves company, and we have certainly turned that trusim into a fine wine, well aged over the course of the previous generation, no? In other news, were you aware that your favorite other thing during a week after an L, also boasts Vlogs devoted to it? A quick perusal comes up with this--I especially appreciate the finer points of the rainbow trout! Carry on. http://macramecollective.com/news/
