Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry if this has already been mentioned upthread or elsewhere, but on WGR Howard & Jeremy during Sal's spot in the 8AM hour, Jeremy had a pretty insightful suggestion imho--why doesn't the NFL go the route of matching up "clean" tested teams during the weeks where that week's opponent has too many positives to play the game--for example, the Bills could play the Broncos this week instead of TN, as both teams tested clean, and were supposed to play each other anyway, and so on. The motto being, get the games in where you can, and sort it out later. What's the sense in having 2 healthy teams sitting out a week that could be playing otherwise if their regularly scheduled opponent drops off? I get there would be issues with prep time etc., but the NFL is going to have to be flexible with this if we're going to get a full or almost full slate of games in. MLB did this to some degree when the Marlins stuff hit the fan, flipping series around and the like, without much of a hitch. -
They did the opposite of what the Falcons have been doing in their blown lead games...call runs to bleed clock; know the onside kick rules, execute. That is all.

He’s been on the field when other teams score (a lot). -
Great write up per usual OP. I’m with you on the 4:25 start—it messed with the flow of my day and I too was worried about this being a letdown game—as soon as I saw how easily we punched it in 1st Q though, I mentally went on cruise control, even when the Raiders went on a mini-run, it felt nothing like the angst of the Rams game to me—crazy how quickly we can go from the mindset of how will we lose this game inevitably, to how close will we let the other team get before we slam the door shut for good...

That's what I thought the drumbeat going into the Rams game as a true "test" was all about? -

I noted this elsewhere yesterday, but I just feel like the bolded concerning what he thinks Allen did or didn't mean to the team in 2018, 2019 are solidly lazy and overly simplistic takes from someone who should know better. For those of us actually watching the games, we know Allen did more to help us win 5 out of the 6 wins in 2018 than "he was a hindrance," and kept us close in a few others (Clay's last second drop against Miami which if caught would've won the game, comes to mind), to say nothing of 2019 where he didn't just "stay out of the way," rather, was instrumental to the Bills going back to the playoffs at 10-6, including wins in Dallas and Pittsburgh...or am I the one on crazy pills?- 57 replies

IIRC, Beane ate ca. 50+ million in dead cap $$ that year all at once, in order to set the table for our buffet of roster riches that we presently enjoy 😋. How McD conjured 6 wins from that sorry lot is still a mystery—but I know Josh helped them win 5 of those 6, ending that year on a high note with 5 total TD’s against guess who—the Fins...

Dan Le Batard FINALLY Eats Crow on Josh Allen
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to mykidsdad's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My issue is with his lead-in about 2018, 2019–clearly he didn’t actually watch those Bills games, or he would’ve seen that his characterizations are overly simplistic. Yes, no doubt our D was monster and Josh was not what he is now—but there were plenty of flashes, and games we won on his shoulders (or legs), defense notwithstanding. -
What happened to John Brown?

What a relief. We need all weapons continuing to fire if 13-3 is going to happen this year! -

I was being somewhat facetious--of course I don't want Josh's hand or any other parts injured by "wrastling" defensive linemen all day. But I was more liking his spirit and never say die approach to every play. If that results in dishing it out every so often, it puts the league on notice, imho.
