What is Wrong With the Defense
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to billsfan61184's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The TOP difference last night was truly staggering. Did it feel like the Chiefs had ripped the pages right out of Bill Belichick's SP XXV gameplan to ground the Bills' high flying attack and then play keep away the rest of the night? It was demoralizing to never be able to come off the field after 3rd down "lookout" runs for chunk yardage time after time--the weird thing is that despite his TD throws, it seemed like Mahomes was quietly flying under the radar & content to let the Chiefs do what they wanted to on the ground. -
Imagine TBD Circa 1992 After These Two Games

Truthfully I was hoping it would be to see @YoloinOhiobreaking an announcement from the twitterverse that McD was taking over D playcalling again! -
Imagine TBD Circa 1992 After These Two Games

Always a good reason to wait to check back in until some of the dust stirred up by the torches/pitchforks crowd has settled... -
McD has earned himself some street cred for keeping the raging inferno that was our tattered 2018 salary cap casualty roster from completely imploding, can somehow (Allen?) squeezing 6 wins out of that year...making the playoffs in each of the other seasons (how quickly we forget what the previous generation had to watch week in, week out--whatever it was, it wasn't a playoff team during that stretch) and overall restoring a sense of pride, legitimacy and yes, culture, to a franchise that had lost its way. All of that to say I fully expect a rebound from this team the rest of the way, but if that does not happen, or the Bills look ill-prepared with no adjustments and wind up flaming out, then of course that's a major problem. At this point I'm not ready to write him off, not even close. Frazier on the other hand, I have to wonder what is going on over there? We have the tools, go make 'em work, coach!!

Yes, yes, but how good are their linebackers compared to ours?

Jets trade DT Steve McClendon to TB

But if you’re a Jets fan wouldn’t you at least have a sliver of concern that those firing the draft cannon with said ammo may completely miss? 🤔 -

“Do you think that your Wu-Tang sword can defeat me?” -
How exactly is JK not letting “this team be itself?” I haven’t heard or seen peep of the notion that any of our franchise past greats are meddling in what the Bills are try to do. FYI, @Hapless Bills Fanposted elsewhere this week that the Bills are incorporating concepts of the K-Gun offense with Daboll and Josh’s express wish...but why would we want such a thing?

After throwing for 6 tds in each of those 4 games, Carroll would have no choice but to bench Wilson at that point, and Fitzy would promptly reward that faith with multiple INT’s in game 5. Such is the way of things in the cycle of Fitzy. The smart coaches will milk his world beater spot starts for all they’re worth tho!

Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football

Wait, is he saying, “Yes, that’s freakin’ awesome!” ? -
Have the game outcome decided by duel. Make it a throwing contest, combine stations, between our QB & theirs.

Any Big Tree Inn people on here?

It’s on my must do bucket list, have never been but my old college roomie hailing from Amherst through whose acquaintance I claim partial Buffalo citizenship (shoveled an honorary sliver of driveway snow on a visit so that counts I think) already agreed to buy the first round when the Bills host the AFCCG next. Covid needs to take a hike before then, is all I can say. -
Josh Allen Keeps Dunking On Me (article)

This x 1000. From the 9/23/18 Leap Heard ‘Round the World in Minnie through today, the proof in the pudding as to his potential was always there to be seen if you wanted to, and glossed over if you didn’t care to. -
Hypothetical: Chances we regret losing Daboll?
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn’t there enough to be worried about in an actual day without taking on worries about what may or may not happen sometime down the road? Also, have some faith that our roster is talented enough to adjust for a new OC, whenever that may happen. -
We can't discount the fact that they had to deal year in/year out with multiple HOFers at QB out of Kelly's class in Marino, Elway, as well as a consistently strong Pittsburgh squad...there was plenty of solid competition even without considering the NFC. To the OP's point, I agree that the Bills getting unleashed on O with their philosophy, specifically in 1990, set the table for the run to come. Having Lofton come over as a free agent in '89 to complement Reed as our main deep threat also nicely opened things up for Andre in medium/over the middle routes.

My personal fav excerpt—well done OP! “Human helicopter Cole Beasley caught a spectacular TD while landing on his head. Rookie revelation Gabe Davis was such an unknown that fellow rookie cornerback Amik Robertson forgot to cover him for an easy lob and catch for Davis’ second TD. John Brown had a TD catch on a fantastic pass and equally far-fetched catch – the referees just didn’t give it to him.”

Should the Bills play the Broncos?
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wouldn't this in theory benefit an offense which dictates the plays, more so than a defense gameplanning to respond to tendencies? First franchise 500 yard game? Yes, please! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_500-yard_passing_games_in_the_National_Football_League -

NoHuddleKelly12 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Possibly. But we would also need to know if there were extended family members who came down with it from community spread first, as opposed to this being a players-only phenomenon, before drawing that conclusion more definitely? -

Oh, no question, and MLB is definitely not comparable to the NFL for that to such an extent on the prep need side, but they will need to be thinking outside the box on how to get a full season or at least enough games to get to a playoff format, and I thought this would at least be another decent backup option if circumstances permit.
