  1. But did you also bring a blue collar lunch pail to practice every day? 🤔
  2. Great thread/topic OP!! For "fluff" fiction reading I can't recommend anything from Clive Cussler enough. Also always enjoyed old English mysteries from Agatha Christie and of course the classic Holmes from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Wait long enough between re-reads and be surprised by the plot twists all over again! Last but not least, the classics hold up because they are classics--for example, Jules Verne was a visionary before our time, whose 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth, among others, featured revolutionary tech/sci-fi unheard of during the Victorian era. Great stories! For non-fiction, I've always been a fan of 1st person WW2 memoirs from the soldiers who fought, as well as little known story gems highlighting the human condition, both good and bad from that same era. Adam Makos is great for the latter, and his books "A Higher Call" & most recently, "Spearhead," are page-turners in this regard.
  3. That’s awesome man!! And yes, I couldn’t agree with you more that I wouldn’t trade the overall experience of those years and the friendships forged on and off the field—going through miserable sweltering camps in August and freezing cold October/Nov. practices while the rest of the campus enjoyed an easier life (I was just north of you in NW Pa, Thiel College) has a way of building camaraderie...
  4. Did you win more than 3 games your entire collegiate career? If so, you beat me 😂.
  5. Does Bill really want to stick around for a full rebuild and double digit losses that likely entails, further diminishing his “mystique” while developing an unproven draft pick? Not saying he wouldn’t, I just could see him more likely falling into the Bills’ drought trap of middling the QB position with journeymen/bridge QB’s who will heroically march the team to no worse than 7-9 or maybe 8-8?
  6. Played HS and walked on at my DIII college to play backup QB/scout team O for 2 seasons before realizing this was never going to result in NFL glory and hung up the cleats for good—I feel like having to learn plays/ D formations/line rush keys (we ran a lot of triple option RPO type stuff bc our coach was enamored by Marshall and Navy) helps me to at least have a glimmer of a clue as to what goes in to the X’s & O’s, but as stated upthread the game at the pro level is so far beyond what I was tasked with I don’t pretend to be conversant there.
  7. According to Progressive Insurance commercials, that field doesn’t mow itself—Baker could use some more help from those lazy groundskeepers hanging out around his house!
  8. Depends...where's the Pegula jet right now?
  9. Imho the OP is light years better than the crapshoot mock drafts right around the corner, coulda drafted Mahomes times 100th thread, fantasy football or anything talking about Carolina...to name but a few. Like it was pointed out above, it's the offseason so we can't exactly do X's & O's for our Oline Well said, sir!
  10. Sad but true. Howevah...every so often...
  11. Perfect! A cure for what ails us--our D front plus salary cap considerations--how about a 1 yr. prove it deal after they kick the tires on this one? Time to get the socially distanced chicken wing welcoming committee over to the airport stat!
  12. Sure QBR may be trash but it’s still a stat that’s widely disseminated when discussing QB rankings, as well as overall passing stats—that was my only point. As for velocity or W/L’s or anything else the poster brought up to support his argument, I agree it wasn’t effective. My main issue was his abrasive conduct and clearly the mods agree.
  13. I wouldn’t say QBR/passing stats are included in weird stats no one uses, but his delivery and condescending tone graduating to direct insults towards anyone disagreeing with him was the real issue, fwiw.
  14. Can I just say I love this thread and all of the nominations? In the words of Michael Bolton from Office Space, I love them all, I can’t pick just one... 1:05 mark
  15. Holding out for what the Texans will be bringing to the table I'm sure .
  16. I like your stats and ultimate conclusion, but not the tone or throwing off on the other posters here (after all, opinions are opinions). I definitely would take Allen over Watson at this point after the season we've all witnessed, and believe Allen with additional room to grow, will continue to separate himself from the rest of the QB pack in a good way, on par with the best of the young guns in Mahomes, and let's see where that footrace ends up! Watson is a good QB, but Allen is on his way to being sublime at the position.
  17. All that means is the penalty was declined 🤔
  18. Thanks for the cold chills I didn’t need!! And those picks were made with the “benefit” of normal pre-draft due diligence...
  19. ^^^This. I always felt that we had beautiful mojo with our home blues especially. What a clean, strong look that Marino and Elway learned to hate!
  20. I hear “the Flats” area in Cleveland is lovely this time of year! 🤔
  21. Loosely translated you mean “Git r done Beane!”, right?
  22. Remember when our highlight videos were the length of a top 40 single? 🤔
  23. Specifically referencing LeBron in some of his comments lends credence to this shift in thought perhaps?
  24. Is this where it’s appropriate to say, “just win baby!” 😜
