List of draft players Bills have met with
No_Matter_What replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
John Schneider approves this message. -
Great news. Given Seahawks drafting history they will pick some random LB projected in 3rd round with their 1st round pick and one more good player falls to us
-
This is fine with me, as long as we bolster OL in FA and draft and also draft top WR prospect. But I'd say we bring one DL starter in FA, though worse than people hope for / expect.

Rumor- Harrison Phillips not coming back

If Bills want to do that basic RFA stuff with Bates, when is the deadline for it? -
Judging by combine testing and comments on this thread there are at least 40 guys who are 100% going before Bills pick at 25

How much $ is Trubusky going to sign for in FA?
No_Matter_What replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP, seriously, is it that hard to show some respect to the Bills player and write his name correctly? He is Trubisky, not Tribusky. -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
No_Matter_What replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I disagree. If he plays for 3M it won't be here. My guess is that Cole is too proud for that. If there is no trade partner, he'll be cut, post some tweets and then sign somewhere else. -
What are your thoughts on Stingley? I don't watch college, but from what I've read he had great rookie year, and then he was progressively worse each of next two seasons and injured a lot. Why is he still mocked so high and why is he your top 3 CB then?
-
Well something tells me you are not mentioning ALL guys you ever wanted What about busts you wanted?
-
Sportrac says 1.6M signing bonus, 3.3M total guarantees.
-
I think it is nonsense but if that happens fine with me. Give Bills/Allen another chance to beat him.
-
So other teams are upgrading, Bills are not and yet we have been top5 team these past two years.
-
Same here. Sounds like a lot of money on the first glance. Let's see how it is constructed. Anyway, I have no reason not to believe Beane on this one. Let's judge when we see exact terms and when FA is over.

One UFA you'd like the Bills to sign? (realistically)

Best guard we can afford. If it's vhim, then him -
I remember one tweet, something like if it ain't white it ain't right. Maybe I am missing something (not an American) but I guess that can at least be intepreted in different ways. Either way its nothing similar to those tweets in quality nor quantity, imo.

Similar tweets?

Prospect Watch: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

So this years Greg Newsome? How did he play for Browns by the way? Did he meet your expectations? -
How is he a below AVG backup? I am no expert, but in 2020 he played as an above average starter at RT, that is why Beane paid him 8M AAV. His play was worse in 2021 apparently, but do you really think he is below AVG backup? That doesn't make sense to me given the quality of OL play in the league. Like I said I am not happy if backup OL takes 10M from cap space but since OL is a priority imo I'd save the money elsewhere (if they don't manage to keep him for less, which I hope they do). I am saying don't cut him unless you have better player then him. And again, I have spent hours playing with our salary cap. We can save money elsewhere.
-
Agreed. And it seems that it happened to many posters here. In midseason many people were vocal how they "knew" that it was not good to run with the same OL and how Beane had neglected it, and suddenly after couple of better games it seems forgotten. I say bolster the OL as much as possiible. Glad to hear Beane thinks the same. Hopefully he proves it in FA.
-
Well that is not what I am saying. I want to upgrade the line in draft and FA so Williams can become BACKUP. It is not running it with the same people. I do understand our cap situation. What I am saying is that I'd save money elswhere. I am willing to pay even backup OL more than teams usually do just to make sure OL is best as possible and I will not see another Jags game anymore. And unless you can get a player who is actually BETTER than Williams I keep him and don't care about the cap. If we need to save money, then try to trade Edmunds. I think he is better than most people give him credit for, but we can't pay everyone and we are already paying Milano (and I'd rather keep Oliver and Knox in upcoming future). But that is another discussion
-
I strongly disagree with Williams. We need to have better starters and better depth and thus cutting Williams makes no sense imo. If he gets too much for RG then fine try to change his contract but even if that is not possible keep him unless you are sure you actually get someone better. I am happy to hear this from Beane, I think OL should be top priority. My plan is to tender or re-sign Bates, keep Williams, get top OL FA we can afford (up to 10M AAV or so), draft OL in first three rounds (probably OG, but could be also OT if he is possibly good enough to replace Dawkins and move him to LG). I assume Morse retires, that is how you pay OL FA. If not, still try to get best FA possible (presumably little cheaper one). Then roll with Dawkins-rookie-Bates-FA-Brown with Williams as primary backup + Doyle. Then rest of depth should be whoever they consider best from Ford/Feliciano/Boettger/other FA/other later round draft pick. If Morse stays, even better.

I don't think Titans need another DT... they are just fine with Simmons
