So Who Will Not Be a Bill by September?
No_Matter_What replied to BillsfaninSB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ford saves money but I still think he stays. They will give him one last shot under new OL coach and it's not like we have better options. Haack is gone for sure but he saves only a little money. I think its less than $400k if you consider that he needs to be replaced by Araiza. Don't you think that Matakevich could be cut? Cutting him saves quite a lot. Any chance that Spector (or anybody else) pushes him off the roster? -

I am truly surprised how many posters mention Crowder as a possible cut candidate (you mention it as remote possibility only, but some people are even advocating it). He is not going anywhere. If he is healthy, he is super reliable WR who will thrive with Allen, same as Beasley. If he gets hurt, he might be replaced by Shakir or McKenzie and might not get his snaps back, but he isn't going to be cut. -

Sweeney is as good as gone. OJ Howard already took his spot, and if we roster one more TE, it will be Wydermyer. -
I remember him from Hard Knocks. He didn't seem ok to me mentally.

That is entirely possible. I wanted to add that Moss has definitely upper hand. But I am less sure than Epenesa and Ford. -

Haack is gone for sure. Epenesa stays (95%), Ford stays (90%). Moss is a tough one. We are not keeping all four RB. I can imagine a world when we decide to keep Duke Johnson. Gilliam, Matakevich and Taiwan Jones might be gone. -
Rd 3, Pick 89 (25): LB Terrell Bernard, Baylor

You sir are a prophet. -
Not that it matters much, but I just wanted to point out that NFLPA Public Salary Cap Report has Bills at 69 players (before rookies and UDFA). Last month they always listed 2 more players than Sportrac. I have no idea what is the reason but I think its worth mentioning. https://nflpa.com/reports/public-salary-cap-report Sportrac has 67 players + 8 rookies (i.e. 75 you mention).

In Gunner's Day 2 Debrief I was quite vocal about Terrel Bernard pick - I didn't like it at all since I felt that was a huge reach. So I need to stop by and say that Shakir pick makes up for in in terms of value. From now on I'll consider both 4th round picks and my soul can rest in peace Speaking about UDFA, I was really surprised how many of them actually make our roster. I am talking only about those, who were originally signed as UDFA by the Bills. Right now it is Cam Lewis, Tyrel Dodson, Ike Boettger and Reggie Gilliam (plus Reid Ferguson, but nobody drafts LSs so that's logical). Recently it was also Levi Wallace and Justin Zimmer. Then there are lot of guys who hand around and never actually make 53 man roster. So it will be interesting to see if somebody gets in this time. Now it surely looks that Wydermyer could be the man since we are lacking in TE department and he can play.

When the names were called, Shakir. But now after I digested it all a little, its Elam. I wanted Booth so much and was like 100% convinced we take him if he is there, that I was in shock when we took Kaiir and quite dissapointed. But now after watching him and reading about him I love that pick. Shakir is 2nd because of value. Cook close 3rd. Bernard is such a wild card.

AFCE off season - better or worse?
No_Matter_What replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This a good question. After couple of votes it is clear that people think what I think - Dolphins and Jets got better, while Patriots got worse. So that begs a question. Is there a realistic chance that Patriots will end up last in the division? I'd say its fairly possible, but it depends on Zach Wilson a lot. -
Way too early 2022 Bills roster

Did you mean it I made it in the OP, i.e. with link posted? Or should I choose some other option from what postimg provides and it will directly appear as a better image in my post? I am not arguing with this. I don't think both Moss and Johnson make the roster, but unless proven otherwise I'd say they are more likely to keep a guy they drafted. But that is definitely an open competition. Why do you think this? To me he seems like an absolute lock based on his WR ability alone. He was a 4th round pick in Beane's eyes. You think Stevenson or Hodgins will kick him out of roster? And there's also his return ability, which all but guarantees his roster spot anyway. -

Oops Will fix it in a minute. Thanks. I'll update OP in a minute and will try it. -
Absolutely this. It just seemed to me that on Day 2 everything went wrong, and I am pretty sure this is not how Beane envisioned it. But it doesn't mean that the consolation prizes we've got don't end up as great players for us.

Way too early 2022 Bills roster
No_Matter_What replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah. On paper its basically the same team as the last year, but with HOF DE, upgrade at DT, probably solid upgrade at CB2, upgrade at pass catching RB, legit TE2 and already a legend at P. -
Ok my bad then.

There is a pinned thread for this already...

Way too early 2022 Bills roster
No_Matter_What replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can you explain what this means? I don't get what you are saying - maybe because English is not my mother tongue and maybe the problem is on your side (no sacrasm). I see everything nicely. I'll fix it if possible. -
After reading summary first, I agree with all of your main points. We'll see how it ends up but it is clear what the Bills were doing. I am still confused about that Bernard pick but I guess I have to wait and see. They made up a lot for it with Shakir pick. Overall it looks like a nice draft. Just like you said the only big surprise is the absence of any IOL player. I don't like it. But since it was clear that they wanted to draft one, it is safe to say that they just didn't find the right value.

Thanks. Stevenson is obviously an option, but his rookie year was nothing to write home about. They kept Kumerow mainly for his ST ability and it might get him roster spot again. Lewis vs Benford is an interesting one, I was thinking about it a little. You are probably right that now it is Lewis' spot to lose. Yeah Boettger is definitely a question but right now I think its his job to lose. I am not sure about him - is is questionable if he is ready for the season? I read about Shakir that he is a return man and I think he is a lock even without it. Jones is obviously ST only so we need to wait and see if somebody takes his role. RBs are interesting overall. Devin and Cook are locks. Do we keep Johnson after we just dradfted Cook? Do we keep Moss? One thing I am sure that we will not keep all 5 (counting Jones). So there is actually an open spot somewhere else. I just don't know where so I keep it as it is now Shakir seems to be returner. And Stevenson may be. Actually I think Stevenson should be on the roster instead of one of the RBs. Duke Johsnon? Hmm... -
I just made this chart with actual Bills roster and would like to know what do you guys think. We have 75 players currently on the roster. Blue guys are draft picks, green are new FA acquisitions from offseason, red are UDFA signings. Players above the grey line made it to my initial 53 man roster, players below that line are potential PS players/cuts. The idea is just to see where we potentially stand. There are 25 offensive players, 25 defensive players and 3 special teamers. EDIT: Made a couple of changes after some discussions below. Put Stevenson in and moved Duke Johnson out (we are not keeping all RBs and we just drafted Cook). Also put Cam Lewis in and rookie Christian Benford out. At this stage, its Cam Lewis' job to lose. It is also likely that Tre doesn't start season on 53 so Bernard might get in this way. Also switched Dane Jackson and Siran Neal, Jackson was a starter last year and deserves to be higher.
