First ever Buffalo home game- MNF against Titans
No_Matter_What replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hi there. This year is finally it and my wife and I are coming to MNF vs Titans as our first ever live Bills game from Slovakia in Europe 😊 I appreciate some advice. I found this thread and figured I can us it instead of starting another one. 1. Things to see/do around. Anything worth visiting in wider area? I am talking mainly nature, but anything else might be interesting. We are coming from NYC and plan to stop at Watkins Glen. I’ve been to Niagara Falls in the past and surely check it again. This time I plan to spend more time there, and it seems that Devils Hole SP + Whirlpool SP, as well as Fort Niagara SP are nice place to visit. Anything else? I mean borh around Buffalo/Falls as well as on the way from NYC to Buffalo and back. 2. Things to see/do in Buffalo. Anything what is “must see” in Buffalo itself? Looking for any advice. Any park/museum/building/whatever worth seeing? 3. Wings and football. Sunday before game we’d like to watch other NFL games in some bar and obviously try wings 😊 There is already some advice on these bars in this thread, so just making sure – all these places have lots of TVs and you can watch football there, right? Any special recommendation with this in mind? 4. Tailgating. Just to understand how it works – if I come 3 hours before kickoff, is there a problem to find a parking lot? I guess there are many around stadium, so it is just about distance and price? How much should I expect? And then tailgating – all the parking lots are “open”, so we may just wander around and watch crazy Bills fans? Any chance that we as randoms get offered some wings from fans? 😊 Any advice (even about something I didn’t mention) is appreciated! -
Buck/Aikman and it's not close. Aikman is almost impossible to listen. Drink everytime he says "ball game" and you're dead by halftime.

13-4 We were running bad last year, I assume we will run better (in close games). And we shoud be better team. So despite tougher schedule we will finish 13-4 or 14-3 no matter how hard it is. If I had to guess we lose: - opener vs Rams, something like Steelers last year, OL out of sync, some things not working, some random things going against us - one more game up to 5-2 record after Packers, probably @Chiefs because I can't find another loss I am sure we will crush Titans, beat Dolphins, beat Baltimore and crush Steelers - Vikings, I suspect they return us the favor from 4 years ago and shock us - after that game we get back on track and roll over everybody - Bengals in some nail bitter, leaving us with last loss on our way to SB

Del'Shawn Phillips was also a Bill.

Slighlty OT right now but if I count correctly once everything is said and done, i.e. we sign complete PS, move Stevenson or someone else to IR and sign a punter, we will end up with roughly $1,5M - $2M cap space (if we sign really cheap punter).
-
I think they actually didn't keep either. Stevenson goes to IR which Hodgins couldn't. Hodgins goes to PS again and I seriously doubt he will be poached.
-
Again, unless I miss something, this doesn't make sense. You don't choose Mancz with $350K dead cap to do this. You choose Kumerow or Ferguson or Cam Lewis who have zero dead cap.
-
Agreed. I asked about this couple posts earlier. Doesn't make sense based on everything we heard during camp. Backup center, looked like lock, injury was supposed to be minor. Really curious what is going on.
-
Hmm, but if they wanted to keep him, they wouldn't cut him. He has 350K dead money. If he is out for a month but you want him, you cut Kumerow after mutual agreement, roster Mancz, IR Mancz and resign Kumerow with couple extra bucks. Doesn't make sense to me. I think Beane specificaly said its nothing major with Mancz. I guess we will know by tomorrow.
-
Can somebody explain me that Mancz thing? I thought from all the reports that he was a lock. Was he outplayed by Hart and Van Roten? Wasn't he supposed to be primary backup center? I am confused.
-
No more official cuts yet? Beane asleep at wheel AGAIN?
-
So far "confirmed" OL Alec Anderson WR Tanner Gentry TE OJ Howard RB Raheem Blackshear RB Duke Johnson DE Brandin Bryant DT CJ Brewer DT Prince Emili From the list of players who were training today it seems that following players will be also cut: OT Luke Tenuta WR Marquez Stevenson WR Isiaih Hodgins DE Mike Love DE Kingsley Jonathan DT Eli Ankou LB Joe Giles Harris CB Ja'Marcus Ingram In other words, in some kind of capacity, i.e. at least temporarily will stay (from questionable ones): Greg Van Roten, Kumerow, Sweeney, Morris, Moss, T. Jones, Lawson, Spector, A.Smith (suspended), Cam Lewis, Nick McCloud Barkley was also training today.
-
Well this is certainly an optimistic way how to look at things. I can imagine another perspective. The one where we keep Morris for his actual and amazing cap $705K, and not for "adjusted" cap hit of $3,3M you just calculated
-
Well then we just need to agree to disagree I guess I find spreading irrelevant, total cap hit matters. Star $5.2M, Howard 3.2M. Star has more, but Howard is relatively much worse, since he wasn't even here. That is just wasted money.
-
I disagree. Star left us with §5.2M dead cap but he played here what, 3 seasons? Howard didn't play a snap and leaves us with $3,2M dead cap. That is much worse imo.
-
Didn't Dorsey say exactly the opposite? That he is just FB in his offense? I might have misread something. That's all good Yolo. If he sucks I am fine with keeping better players. I just think this is a huge huge miss on Beane's part. $3M dead cap is a lot for a player without a snap for the Bills. I know nobody sees the future and I will keep assessing Beane based on his overall work but this one hurts. More than any of his moves in recent memory.
-
Yeah I love the work he is doing but this is huge miss on Beane's part. $2.6M dead cap for a guy who won't take a snap in Bills uniform is brutal given how tight our cap will be following years. Huge miss.
-
This is brutal from the dead cap point of view, unless I am (or Sportrac is) missing something.
-
And so it begins! Anyway, it's really interesting that they cut him before Blackshear. Curious if it means something...
-
Ok thanks. I think that White won't be ready soon so he goes to PUP. Do you know if he can start training with the team sooner then in W5 (i.e. when not activated from PUP)? As for others, if Doyle needs to be IRed he will temporarily use that punter spot. I don't think they will bother with Stevenson that much, he might be just cut. Morris is questionable - if they wanted him on 53, they will need to find a temporary roster spot. In that case, someone needs to be cut and resigned. But it won't be Jones - he has 600k dead money. Ferguson and Kumerow seem like prime candidates (if Kumerow makes it).

You have some kind of obsession with Crowder, don't you?
