  1. So after Haack, Austin and Ford we were at 81. Did we cut the last guy already? Beane asleep at the wheel?
  2. As for Boettger, anybody knows how does it work? Do we need to put him on original 53 then IR him? Also, same with White if he is not ready? If yes, it will not be easy to cut 2 more players and get them back. I know it can be done and Beane did it in the past but it costs dead money AFAIK. So if this is the case I don't think Boettger makes original 53.
  3. No worries we have still Taiwan Jones for preseason and Tremaine Edmunds for season.
  4. Just a minor issue but I am not sure I like this kind of reporting. I guess that for somebody who doesn't know much about cap space this indicates that we now have $1.135M more free cap space, which is not correct. You have to replace Haack's salary with somebody else, which in this case will be PG and his $760K or so. So we actually save much less. Not a big deal I know.
  5. Also, I do agree that Hodgins is most likely 7th on the depth chart, but I do think we keep 7 WRs and he makes it. I think if it gets really close between him and some other player the fact that he was drafted here and this is his 3rd camp fighting for rostes spot will help him a lot. It sends some message to the team.
  6. Gunner I am pretty sure they kept 11 last year - Rousseau, Star, Oliver, Hughes, Addison, Epenesa, Obada, Basham, Phillips, Zimmer and Butler. This year it will be less for sure since we have Von and overall we are more top heavy. I guess 9 is most likely and I do agree Shaq made sure yesterday that he has an upper hand on the spot.
  7. At this rate Araiza was a wasted pick.
  8. Lol @ Keenum overreactions last week.
  9. You are in for the long first half. McD said starters will play, so make peace with it.
  10. I'm from Europe and I'm coming for home opener vs Titans as my first live Bills game ever. I wanted to buy tickets just before the game once I will be 100% sure that nothing went wrong and I was in the US, but I already bought tickets last week since prices are clearly and significantly rising. I bought two for $370 each in Section 108. That's crazy money imo but that's what it is I guess.
  11. My prediction for tonight is that McD plans to play Allen more than one quarter, maybe even half, and thus GDT will be flooded with annoying repetitive comments calling for pulling him and all starters after the first drive.
  12. Some posters here are rather insecure.
  13. After the draft we already agreed that we drafted Shakir in 3rd and Bernard in 5th. This is getting confusing
  14. On random thought - I've noticed that Marquel Lee left us with $252.000 dead cap, since he had that much in guaranteed money. That seems interesting to me. Do you guys think that Beane had thought (when he signed him) that he had any chance to make the roster? Or it was not possible to sign camp body for less guaranteed (and thus wasted) money? Just for some comparison, Duke Johnson got $377,500, Greg Mancz 352,500, Van Rotten and Lawson 152,500, Bobby Hart got $25,000. Looking at these numbers, I'd say all of these guys had better chance to make the roster at the time of signing than Lee. To be clear, I love Beane and this is just minor issue. I am just interested in hearing some thoughts. Do you think Lee had a roster shot or it was not possible to obtain fringe player like him for less guaranteed?
  15. I wrote it as a guess before Chandler posted who was actually released...
  16. I generally agree with you, but problem is that (unless I am misunderstading something) it is MORE EXPENSIVE to cut Jones than to keep him. If you keep Jones his cap hit is $1,05M. If you release him, his dead cap is $650k and any rookie you replace him with adds at least another $750k, which is $1,4M overall. Taiwin got a lot of guaranteed money. Matakevich is another story, he might net us $1,8M or so.
  17. @YoloinOhio Who is the 5th guy? There are only 4 in OP (and in this thread).
  18. Kinda surprised about Wydermyer. I was hoping we can get something out of him. He was deemed as 2nd round prospect a year ago. Something went really wrong with him.
  19. So who are the other four? OL Simmons, WR Gentry, DT Joseph, CB Ingram?
  20. I really like Hodgins and hope he makes the team and contributes. But I came to say other thing. I am rewatching 4th quarter since I didn't have a chance to watch it yesterday, and man, Luke Tenuta as LT is brutal on that Hodgins 27y circus catch. He didn't even slow down his rusher. Its amazing that Barkley managed to throw that ball. Go and look.
  21. I had said it after I saw his first interview: this guy is my favorite Bill. I hope he will be as good as he seems.
  22. I'm surprised by the number of Keenum sucks overreactions. He had a bad game for sure. But he has accomplished so much more in NFL than Matt Barkley that its not even a comparison. Saying that Barkley deserves to be QB2 after one preseason game (where Barkley played against lesser players) is weird to say the least.
  23. Details are on the Sportrac already: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/reggie-gilliam-47904/ Looks like 2y/$4.6M deal with $1M signing bonus. There are probably some incentives built in.
  24. WTF are you two talking about? Don't you understand that headline mentiones 5.2M which surely means Beane just paid 5.2M in cash to Gilliam and we need to overreact immediately?
  25. Too soon to judge. But I share your optimism, I always do.
