On to Minnesota (get this game in the rear view mirror!)

He probably meant that Allen was average during bye... -
I agree with both of you but after rewatching I need to add Hamlin. To my untrained eye he looked great. He was making plays everywhere, had most tackles on team, good in coverage, no big runs on him and added important sack.

Like many other positive posts this is very spot on. The way people overreact to one loss or some stretch of worse games is fascinating. People probably don't remember but we didn't have many good games last regular season. Lots of losses, lots of wins despite less than optimal play (Allen was 11/26 with 120 yards and 3 INT vs Falcons), and yet we crushed Patriots when it counted and were very close to beating Chiefs on the road (and would be favorites to win it all had we won that game). We are 6-2. We have beaten Chiefs, Ravens and Titans, 2 of them on the road. Now we had one really bad half with lots of injuries against very good D and people went crazy. It's not about the Bills, it's about people's expectations. To put it in other way - if we now suck and are not an SB team, then who is? Chiefs, who we had beaten on the road, who lost to Colts and were almost beaten by truly one-dimensional Titans, who we crushed before? 6-3 Ravens who we beat on the road, and who collapsed from another 17+ lead against Dolphins at home? Dolphins, who needed half of our team dead to pull 2 point win against us at home? Jets? Titans? All we need is Josh to be healthy and we'll be fine. It doesn't mean that we are guaranteed SB, but that is yet another false expectation people have. No matter how good Beane, McDermott, coaching staff and players are, we can't have more than 20% (or whatever number) chance to win it all, since there are other good GMs/coaches/players/teams in the league too.

Terrel Bernard was absolutely abused yesterday

I am doing the same right now and I noticed the same. I am on the first half but he looks lost and out of position. Granted I have no idea what his position should be -
WEEK #9 - AROUND THE NFL GAMEDAY THREAD - NON BILLS

You mean like W6 against us? Not arguing your overall point of him being slighlty better/more consisent. -
Is There So Little Love for Tremaine Edmunds?

I don't think this is a fair comment. You don't judge DL play based on one game. After 8 games, I guess we can agree that DL investments are well spent. And to be clear like I said many times before I do agree with you that we should've invested in OL more (even though I think Beane wanted to do that but didn't find a way in neither OL nor draft). -

I wish you posted more. Anyway, I find it interesting that specifically after this game people want Edmunds gone due to his play - if anything, this game proved that we have hard time replacing any of our starting LBs, so I wonder why people think it will be easy to replace Edmunds. I think he is as good as gone next year, but not because of his play, but because of cap limitations. -
Lol like expected so much overreaction to everything. Yeah we lost a game and that sucks. Yeah Allen was off today and that sucks too. But it is amazing how so many of you suddenly forget that we were 6-1 before this game either dominating or winning close games. Jets D is no joke. Today their O played very good too. We missed a lot of guys. J.Johnson sucks. Allen was off or not on the same page with Knox/Davis. Edmunds' INT was probably incorrectly taken from us. Everything went wrong. Being SB caliber team doesn't mean that we need to be 17-0 and dominate everybody. Things like this happen. We'll be fine (unless Allen is hurt).

Week 9: Bills at Jets - Sunday Nov. 6th 1pm
No_Matter_What replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am in bed with covid and had nothing to do, so I re-watched Bills @ Jets 2019 game. For those who don't remember, it was season opener a we were down 0-16 in mid 3Q but managed to come back and win 17-16. Defense was playing great whole game, but Allen had 4 turnovers in the first half including unlucky pick6 by CJ Mosley (bounced from Cole Beasley's hands). He was great in the first drive until fumble, then quite ok, and then looked really bad trying to play hero ball early in second half. Then suddenly we got Devin Singletary going, Allen settled down and managed very nice GW drive with 3:00 to go. Defense then shut Darnold down and we won. Game was for sure affected by Mosley's injury; our run started once he went down in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Couple of things I find interesting: 1. Allen's inaccuracy was the main theme for the announcers, esp. Harlan. Can't blame them much though after his rookie season. Fun times lol. 2. Universal thought was that Darnold is/will be the better QB of the two. Fun times indeed. 3. In offense, this was the first game Allen had any receivers at all. John Brown had 123 yards and a TD and was great imo, as he was whole 2019 season. I think he helped Allen a lot. 4. Rookies were Oliver, Ford, Singletary, Knox, D. Johnson, J. Johnson and Sweeney. Almost all of them played. Oliver looked good and Sweeney looked like we may had something in him. Singletary was great once he got a chance behind Gore. He had 4 rushes for 70 yards and 5 catches for 28 yards. He essentially changed the game since our first TD was all him. It was nice to see, since before he had a chance to show something Shady McCoy had like 6/60 for the Chiefs and people were questioning how we could let him go and keep Gore 5. Speaking of Gore, wow. We didn't like Moss running for 2 yards last 2 years but man Gore was something else. I don't want to bash someone with his career but he really looked slow and old in Bills uni. 6. Jets offense was Bell and Crowder. It was Bell's first game after a year and he looked good. Then he went on a disappointing season (789y, 3,2y AVG) and his career essentially ended. Other than them, Jets had nothing. Robbie Anderson had 3/23. 7. It's really interesting how similar our back 7 looked to what we have now. Edmunds, Milano, T.Johnson, Hyde, Poyer, White, Neal. Only Lorax and Levi Wallace are gone now. 8. There was a brutal turnover on Jets roster. It is only 3 years away, and unless I missed someone only CJ Mosley, Q.Williams, Braxton Berrios and LS Hennessy are on their current roster now. That's almost impossible to manage imo. EDIT: They also had LB Shepherd and DE Franklin-Myers as inactives so that's 6. For comparison, Bills have 21 from that day (including Phillips, Lawson and Marlowe who came back). For fun I also read the game day thread Lots of hot takes even from reasonable posters, but you can imagine it was even worse than these days, since nobody knew what Allen will become and people were used to losing much more than today. If somebody has nothing to do: https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/217960-bills-at-the-jets-98-first-half-thread/ https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/217961-98-bills-at-jets-second-half-thread/ It is worth mentioning that success of other relevant QBs on that day didn't help either. Ravens destroyed Dolphins 59-10 and Lamar was 17/20 for 324y and 5TDs. Mahomes was 25/33 for 378y and 3TDs, all of them to Sammy Watkins who had 9/198 lol. -
I think they are really good on paper right now, and they won 12 out of last 13 games which Tua started and finished. They are no doubt a contender right now, but there are still couple of question marks, mostly about Tua, their playoff inexperience and coaching. And I do think we are still slightly better team even if we remove Josh and Tua from the equation. So to sum it up, I can fully imagine them ending up something like 12-5 or even 13-4, but it won't be enough to win the East and unless we are really unlucky that surely won't be enough when they meet JFA in Orchard park in December and especially in January.

Well they paid couple of relatively cheap WRs, I am not sure what your point is. I am not arguing that you can't pay all players for a short term, or that you can't pay many cheap players longterm, I am just saying that you can't pay everybody longterm and that salary cap is a real limitation. So, to ask you once again: If cap is not "real", what other reason do you think Chiefs had when they traded Hill away? As for the Bills, I am pretty sure they would be more than happy to resign/extend Poyer, Oliver, Edmunds, Singletary, Phillips, Jackson, Davis, etc, and still add some top FA. But they won't, and the only reason is that cap is more than real.
