  1. Well put, mostly agree. Couple of notes only. No way that Beane keeps Hines under his current contract, so I would almost say that we have 34 players under contract with -$5M cap space. He either takes much less or is gone. I mention him since his case is really obvious, unlike others (high cap hit + no guaranteed money). I also hope/believe that Beane won't do all those restructures, since that would be the Saints way. Majority yes, we won't make it without it, but not all. That's what makes it even more tough. Let's hope cap will be closer to $225M. Agreed that we can't afford to tag Edmunds and keep him. It will be a lot of "fun". Anyway, like you said, let's not hijack this. Just good to have perspective when talking about Edmunds.
  2. I know it sounds bizzare but my bold pick is that Commanders could make it. 49ers just lost Jimmy, I don't believe Hurts can handle being top favorite yet, Cousins won't string 3 good games, Dallas finds a way to lose, Brady is washed (and yes I saw MNF, it won't be enough to play good last two drives in the PO). Commanders have good defense with Young coming back, great WR and Heinecke has some balls. If he gets hot and lucky in PO I can see them pulling it off. Only to get killed by the Bills of course:)
  3. I disagree. I don't know about other people but I am not forgetting cap going up ($220M for sure, $230M might be just your and mine dream). But the thing is that we have already calculated with that and spent that money. We are paying top QB, CB, WR, DE, LT, LB, C, S, NCB. We have 9 guys over $10M and two more over $8,5M. And yes I do know that you can restructure and make other things to work with cap, but there are limitations. So it's not like cap is $230M hooray suddenly we have a lot of space. We have used it already. Btw I do think we can make both Oliver and Edmunds work but it will be very complicated and require some other tough decisions. Like letting not only Poyer but also Taron Johnson go after this season.
  4. Agreed re having no other choice than paying good QBs once you have one, as well as re Dak, Carr, Lamar being in this group. Just curious where you stand with Murray. Would you pay him too? I guess I would let him go, even though he clearly has the ability.
  5. This would be beyond amazing. Not gonna happen though.
  6. Thanks everybody for voting and opinions. I started this thread having no clue and I still don't have any I think that he gets $17-18M on open market but I don't want to pay him that much. And I don't think he gives us much of a discount. Another thing to consider is that Milano signed $42/4 just 2 years ago. How will he respond if Edmunds gets much more? Do we think that he is actually worth much more? One thing I have in mind is Taron Johnson. Lately I was thinking that he might become cap casualty if we extend Edmunds. Before this season I didn't think this was an option, but now I do. We can save roughly $7M if we release him post June 1 with $2,5M dead cap in 2024. Since our cap will be really tight next year, I really can imagine that those $7M might become handy. And if you are Beane and can choose between keeping Taron and letting TE go, and keeping Edmunds, cutting Taron and replacing him with Neal/cheap FA/5th round draft pick, I can see him going this direction. Just a thought. EDIT: Oh and if we keep Edmunds then Poyer has no chance to stay imo. But that is probably fine with me (I love Poyer as a player but you can't pay everyone). Keep Edmunds, let Poyer and Johnson go.
  7. Happy, if you need to ask this question then I am sorry you don't understand the basics of decision making. You make the decision which has higher EV. Unless the data used by twitter account which @GoBills808 quoted are completely wrong (which I really doubt), it's a no-brainer decision to go for it. And I think it's fairly obvious even without maths. But I rest my case here, it's fine if you believe otherwise.
  8. I am not arguing about this specific decision. But man cmon. You can't say a decision is wrong just because the result is. What matters is what nets more points in the long run.
  9. Exactly. If he is fine with being a back up and agrees to vet min that's the best possible news for the Bills. Sign him tomorrow as great depth and draft OL heavily.
  10. Title says it all. Recently many posters changed their mind and now want to extend Tremaine Edmunds. If you are in this group (or wanted to extend him even before), how far would you go? How much is he worth? Other names are for refence only, they might not be that relevant since those contracts are for different number of years and were signed in different times. 11. This is NOT a good news imo, in a sense that it was very likely to be over $220M, so this just confirms it. Be we need it to be more, hopefully around $225M.
  12. Today I don't have time to read that much - was there any word from McD why was Elam inactive or whether he was really a healthy scratch? Also, anyone noticed how much White played? I was watching in distractive environment so couldn't focus.
  13. Agreed except of the Mahomes mention. Granted I don't live in the US but from what I watch Allen gets same recognition as Mahomes and he gets all the credit he deserves.
  14. Edmunds was imo always a little better than he was given a credit for by an average Bills fan, but he looks really good to me this year. However, I still don't see how we pay him, and if we do, it will become increasingly complicated to navigate the cap. I said before the season that 2022 Bills are the strongest team we could field for the foreseeable future. I think we will be at least slightly worse next year - without Edmunds, Poyer and Singletary, or at least two of them. We will obviously compete but this is the peak imo.
  15. Re Elam: Everybody please form a strict opinion immediately, don't even think about waiting for some comments from McD or something. Most important think is just to say something!
  16. Is this a true story? That was a year that I slowly became a fan so I don't remember.
  17. To be fair Von has 450 snaps and those 3 guys combined have 758, so the ratio is not that bad (Von is obviously Von).
  18. Man I love you. Post of the year. This is not about @Process so don't take it personally. This is exactly what many posters on this board are about. If Beane gets top CBs and Von Miller then why didn't he get WRs and OL. Had he made different choices, then people would be saying that he should've get top passrusher. We have Daboll, he sucks, we need young offensive mind. We get one, he sucks, we need Daboll back. Rinse repeat.
  19. And now tell me our 2nd round picks aren't producing! Zay Jones!
  20. Omg Mike White looks so good, almost as good as Tua. If Mac Jones takes another step, we may end up being bottom feeders of AFC East for a long time. Just trying to go with a flow.
  21. No, it's the opposite. When you put a player on IR, you count his whole cap hit. And then you need to add cap hit of player who replaces IR player. Check out Sportrac. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ Benford on IR counts, and so does Rhodes. He only has about 350k cap hit, but it is still 350k more than before when Benford was on the roster. We are very close to zero cap space btw. We need someone to come back from IR asap otherwise Beane will need to restructure somebody.
  22. Exactly. I lurk there from time to time and there are lot of Tua>Allen and Dolphins and Chiefs are the best NFL team takes. If you are a Bills sceptic it's never too late to hop on Dolphins bandwagon.
  23. He also called Mike Love by number only and had no idea who he was. Plus that Dane Jackson budding superstar nonsense. I am sure that there were lot of other things as well. I tend not to get annoyed by any commentators, so I don't mind him. I just think it is very unprofessional to be unprepared. I know I know nothing about players on other teams, but I am not being paid millions for that. He's just not prepared as he should be (he isn't the only one ofc).
  24. Thank God we have you to tell us what reality is. Without you I'd foolishly think that we are still an elite team dealing with lot of unluck and adversity.
