  1. Quoting you again today but I have to. Love this approach. I won't cut Poyer but I fully agree with your overall point. Let's do a hard off-season, push as little cap to next year as possible, sign 1-2 solid FAs and fill the roster with draft picks.
  2. Oh now I see I am not the only one I wrote something similar couple posts above. Exactly this. Don't fill all holes by vet FAs before draft. Draft good and roster draft picks.
  3. Am I really the only one who doesn't see this 5th round pick as ammo for trade up only? I for one want Beane to use those pick to draft 10-11 players and then I want 8-9 or them to actually make a team. Don't bring tons of random useless vets, draft and use cheap talent.
  4. @HappyDays Pls edit the title, he is now re-signed by Tampa (page 5).
  5. Interesting. There was some info it won't happen because of the deal we had with last year (after his non football injury). Anyway, seemed like a no-brainer to me.
  6. Do we know who did the Bills meet with at the combine?
  7. I'd say there is like 85+% chance you'll be thrilled. Edit: Meaning we are drafting one of Thomas, Mitchell, Legette, Worthy or Franklin.
  8. How many 1st round grades do you have this year? You usually mention it but I don't remember reading it this year.
  9. You mean a WR who gives us edge? Sign me up!
  10. Agreed, and I'd love not to touch both Miller and Diggs. But do you think it is actually possible? If I do all the basic conversions + all the expected extensions (Dawkins, Johnson, Douglas) + cut Hines & Harty I end up with about $20M in cap space and about 38 NFL players. Then I add 7 draft picks (I hope 7+ make the roster) for $10M + $4M for PS players I end up with maybe $6M for remaining 8 players we need and at least 1-2 of them will be midsize FA. I know we can still cut White/Morse maybe Neal/Poyer and there could possibly be some paycuts but I'd be truly surprised if Beane manages not to convert Diggs or Miller. I'd love that though and I hope Beane sees it the same way.
  11. Great news. It helps us a lot. But we are in a big hole anyway. I really hope Beane will be responsible and tries to create healthier cap situation for following years. Cut some vets, restructure only one of Diggs/Miller, cut Tre if needed, don't bring more than more expensive FA (preferably safety), bring back some cheap vets, draft 7-8 players who will actually make the roster, then fill the rest with FAs available after draft.
  12. I've always thought he sucks!
  13. "McDefense" drafted Kincaid and Torrence with first two picks last year.
  14. This and 100x this. Beane needs to get tougher and start cutting a little bit more than before. He also needs to stop creating best overall roster with quality backup everywhere. It costs us a lot of money. Cut some people, don't fill every hole, gamble a little, draft good and then fill holes with $1.7M and less contracts for players still being free. I love Morse but we need to get younger and cheaper. Otherwise we will have the same $50M over the cap problem this time next year.
  15. Can we please stop calling that evil man who helps to crush our Lombardi dreams on yearly basis "Pat"?
  16. If SF doesn't score TD on this drive, this game is over for them.
  17. I'd still be shocked if Kansas doesn't win this.
  18. You hate to see it
  19. And the blue 4 who pick 12-15? Broncos, Raiders, Saints, Colts? They all seems like candidates to me so do you think they have much bigger needs or the value just isn't there where they pick?
  20. @GunnerBill, who do you think is our competition to draft WR round 1? I think we don't have to care about top 10 teams, since these teams will (most likely) draft MHJ, Nabers and Odunze and nobody else. I think we can quite safely exclude Vikings, Seahawks, Rams, Dolphins, Eagles (I've seen some mocks sending them WR though), Packers and Cards (they are taking one with their first pick). On the other hand, Jags, Cowboys, Bengals (if Higgins walks), Bucs and Chiefs are pretty likely (I list Chiefs since they might jump us). What about the rest? I didn't see any WRs mocked to Broncos, Raiders, Saints and Colts (picks 12-15), and they all could use some WR help. Do you think it is too soon for them for tier 2 WRs? Then only Steelers and Texans remain if I count correctly.
  21. I am not sure about Brown but I fully agree with the idea behind it. Beane has shown some ability to let guys go, but he need to be a little bit more ruthless at times imo. Let Davis and AJ go, let Brown go if need be.
  22. I'm not sure how I feel about all this but I'd say this is the best way to describe how I feel. For me this is a good thing in following sense - if we don't make at least AFCCG next season or the whole team doesn't look much better than this year, I'll be fully on fire McDermott train.
  23. I am not watching. I just hate Mahomes and won't look at him unless I really have to.
  24. He needs to be amazing WR3 and then this offense combined with OL we had this year and KingCaid as TE1 will be best we ever had. Just draft WR round 1 this year and hit on him. But agreed, Shakir was great especially second half of the season. Love that guy.
