  1. Sort of random observation but today there has been a big shift in OTC data. Mack Hollins, who was previously way below the threshold, is now listed exactly as cutoff player at 670 (I am not sure, but he was listed as something like 710th or so before). This results in Bills losing 5th round pick for Floyd, and leave us with 4th round for Gabe Davis only. I know that after Tremaine debacle these unofficial sources need to be taken with a grain of salt, but I still find it interesting. Hopefully once all is said and done Hollins will fall under the line and we'll get 4th and 5th. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-picks
  2. I agree with your comments re WRs, provided that it won't be for more than $3M. I disagree with the bolded though. We can't use decent chunk of it, if by "chunk" you mean more than $5M. We will need cap space for signing rookies, 52/53 player, practice squad a keep some space for in season moves. That is total of $8-10M or so. We had SB roster last 3 years and it didn't help us. Maybe we get lucky this year and win with worse roster (if it is worse).
  3. There is already a thread about this going. But it's harder than usual to notice due to many sticked threads, I'll give you that
  4. Agreed. And that deserves some attention. I do remember that after 2022 season a lot of people on this board were vocal about how Beane has neglected OL and how it sucked. Fast forward 12 months and there is literally not a single word about needing to bolster OL or draft any OL high. I think Beane deserves a lot of credit for this.
  5. Last year we had 10 whole season.
  6. Theory is that he is center only with no positional flexibility.
  7. Agreed. To me it seems that 7 picks are all but locks to make the roster, Ulofoshio is very close to this status, and Grable has a solid chance. I love it.
  8. Right now we have 44 offense 36 defense (including White, hi is formally on the roster, so in fact 35) 5 ST Disparity between offense and defense is interesting.
  9. Thanks for the feedback. My comments above.
  10. Agreed, and I listed him as cut. Not arguing. I will put him there as an alternate Yeah you are probably right that Toohill is a slight favorite over Jonathan. Disagree about Hamlin, I think there won't be a spot for him. i also agree that you are probably correct that Williams should make it as 10th DL over one of LBs. But I think they are more likely to keep Spector than Morrow. Same with Anderson/Clapp. They really seem to love Anderson, he was on roster last year, and they never risked to put him on PS even when they needed to make in season moves. After Cephus signing, I gave up the idea that we will add another relevant FA WR. So I put Hamler there as 6th WR and Shavers to the group of relevant players who will be cut.
  11. I like this exercise, though I agree with @NewEra that correct way to do it is immediately after each pick, so you don't have extra info. This is also why I actually have hard time believing you and both posters below. If you wanted to double dip, are you sure that you wouldn't take Franklin at 60? At that time, it seemed like a surprise that he was still there and double dip crowd (me included) would have hard time not to take him. Anyway, I can't participate fully since I don't follow college football, but what I would do based on my very limited knowledge: Pick 33: Troy Franklin (I would pick Legette at 32) Pick 60: Troy Franklin Pick 95: BPA at CB/S/DL/OL, so probably T.J. Tampa, Jaden Hicks or Brandon Dorlus See above, are you guys sure you wouldn't actually pick Franklin in the 2nd?
  12. Their rankings were very close. Consensus big board (source https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2024/consensus-big-board-2024) 28. Mitchell 32. Worthy 33. McConkey 37. Coleman 42. Legette Daniel Jeremiah (my understanding is that he is one of the most respected evaluators) 27. Mitchell 30. McConkey 31. Worthy 42. Coleman 49. Legette Mel Kiper (same) 18. Worthy 32. Legette 33. Coleman 36. Mitchell 37. McConkey So yeah some of them were ranked a little higher but it is very close. This board liked Coleman much much less than consensus and some relevant talking heads.
  13. @SDS Hardy and Grable had their threads going already...
  14. Ok, but then your original statement still doesn't make any sense to me, since trading up for big 3 was completely unrealistic. We had no chance. We would have to give up crazy amount of draft capital to trade with Falcons and they'd probably still refuse since they wanted Penix. So I think your statement was unrealistic and very unfair to Beane. As for the rest, I agree that we definitely could have tried other way and draft 2 WRs in early rounds. I'd probably tried that too. But it is not that simple. And it is not over. We have 4 months until the season starts; I am pretty sure there will be a WR on the roster who isn't in the building now. I think most of the frustration doesn't come from the absence of double dip, but from the fact that WR drafted was Coleman. I get that people don't like him. I guess that we just have to wait and see now.
  15. Let's just hope he models his game after 2015 Von Miller not 2023
  16. This is such a confusing statement to me. Which player drafted 28 and later would make you stand up and say that?
  17. Our draft is over, so here is my first look at 2024 roster. I included 9 rookies, I guess all of them have a good chance. I know a lot will change; this is just a projection for fun/discussion. 51 players already on the roster. I am pretty sure we add veteran WR through FA or trade, and I also think we will sign some cheap vet CB. I listed some other relevant players who did not make it. Edit: After Cephus signing I don't expect FA WR soon, so I put Hamler in. What do you guys think? Rookies are in green. Offense (25) QB: Allen, Trubisky (2) OT: Dawkins, Brown, Van Demark, Collins, Grable (5) IOL: McGovern, Torrence, Edwards, Van Pran, Anderson (5) WR: Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Hollins, Shorter, Hamler (6) TE: Kincaid, Knox, Morris, Gilliam (4) RB: Cook, Davis, Johnson (3) Not included – Doyle, Clapp, Clayton, Shorter, Isabella, Cephus Defense (25) DE: Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa, Solomon, Toohill (5) DT: Oliver, Jones, Carter, Johnson, Williams (5) LB: Milano, Bernard, Williams, Ulofoshio, Spector (5) CB: Douglas, Benford, Elam, Johnson, Hardy, FA (6) S: Bishop, Edwards, Rapp, Lewis (4) Not included – Jonathan, Ankou, Morrow, Hamlin, Ingram ST: Bass, Martin/Haack, Ferguson (3) Edited: Hamler, Williams, Toohill in, Morrow, Jonathan out
  18. We have two more. 219 from GB 221 from Kansas
  19. Because from some reason, they did not want Franklin. They couldn't do more work on him, and still did nothing to get him. Maybe they made a wrong decision, but their final evaluation was clearly very different than yours.
  20. Looks like it, and I think it is a good idea. How amazing would be if we somehow still managed to win a SB in 2024, which is always possible with JA.
  21. Well we are off to a good start with Van Pran
  22. Just a random reminder: Pick 141 is from Xavier Legette trade with Carolina. Pick 144 is from Ryan Bates trade to Chicago.
  23. Miami just traded 2025 3rd round to pick a RB? Ok then.
  24. For a team that "wins" draft "every year", they don't win much. I mean I agree with you that their drafts always look good, but apparently it doesn't mean that much.
