  1. I am very close to agreeing with you (in terms of how unlikely those first five options are), but apparently 40% (72/180) of voters right now think that at least one of these options cannot be easily removed. And I think it can be easily argued that Johnson stays since he is core special teamer and also that there is zero chance we will keep 7 DEs. Maybe like you said keeping 10 DL overall including these 7 could be an option. However, I think they will prefer keeping Star, Ed, Zimmer and Phillips which will exclude this scenario. Therefore my call is still trading Obada for 6th or something, even though I wouldn't like it.
  2. Did you mean DL or front 7? I'd say it is better to compare front 7s due to teams playing 3-4. If you look at the chart you posted Denver has only §15M invested in DLine, since Chubb and Miller count as linebackers. So if you compare front 7s, it looks like this: 1. Bears 80M 2. Cards 78M 3. Bills 72M 4. Chiefs 70M 5, Raiders 67M League average 56M.
  3. Each day I wonder more how this gets resolved. Jerry was our best DE last year and he is a valuable vet presence. They seem to like Addison, he is a vet and he took a paycut to stay. I can still hardly imagine Beane cutting him. AJ is in his second year and seems to be doing good - I almost excluded him from the poll. Obada seems to be doing great and has already proven something. Groot is 1st round pick and looked great so far. He shouldn't even be in the poll. Johnson receives great praise from the coaches all the time, like today from Frasier, and he is a core special teamer, which they value a lot. Basham seems to be clearly the weakest of the bunch right now, but he is a 2nd round pick and it will be extremely risky/impossible to try to sneak him into PS. I seriously doubt we will keep 7 DEs. So what is your solution? I don't see any. I prefer trading Addison but I doubt Beane can do it. So I go with trading Obada, even though I'd hate it.
  4. I didn't see the game, and I probably won't have time to do it, but during lunch I glanced over patsfans and they seemed to be ecstatic about Jones. They used words like poise, command, going fast through reads etc. So, how did he look like? Edit: @starrymessenger reads my mind apparently
  5. Thanks. Johnson you are probably correct even though I don't see any picture of him with that beard. But should be him. But guy after Poyer doesn't have mask, only glasses. Next one has mask and I'd say thats Singletary. Anybody knows who comes after Poyer?
  6. I feel embarrased but I don't know all of them... Trubisky, AJE, Addison - who is next? Dawkins, Poyer - who is next? And after him is Singletary? Beasley/McKenzie - who are tho guys who follow? Knox, Diggs then Davis?
  7. While I do agree in general, 23/27 seems too much. 24/26 is more likely imo. I'd say add TE/RB maybe WR at the expense of DL. DL will be brutal anyway since you kept 11 which is more than expected and you still had to cut Johnson, who they like, is still young and apparently plays important role in ST. Anyway still great post, I always love reading your input.
  8. I have no idea who will make 53, but 23 offense and 27 defense? That seems pretty unlikely to me.
  9. I'd say that bolding something (probably numbers) would help your text to be more readable Gunner. To the point: after reading camp reports, I'd say Obada is almost a lock and Daryll Johnson won't make 53. There just isn't any way how to sneak him in. I wonder how it is really with Addison, i.e. if there is a chance for him to be cut after he took paycut. I mean I know its business but I still wonder if Beane can cut him from personal point of view.
  10. Literally, or figuratively?
  11. Thanks for the bump, I updated OP. I expect 24 after regular season, hopefully more. I'd save Chiefs for playoffs I addressed this in OP. I know it is a team sport. This is just for fun.
  12. I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but why is he (and everybody else) kicking like 5 attempts a day? Is it so physically demanding? In other words, why doesn't he kick 50 or something attempts a day?
  13. Allen will reach Tier 1 in almost everybody's mind if he can replicate last season imo. People who don't put him there don't believe he will sustain that level of play for more seasons imo.
  14. I don't have the time to read whole thread - can somebody please tell me if it is clear that he actually intends to break some specific NFL covid rules, and if so, which? I read his statements three times and I have no idea.
  15. Jake Fromm had number last season?
  16. Anyone knows who is the second right now? From the top of my head I don't recall anyone being here prior White/Dawkins/Milano draft.
  17. Yeah but it could be just because he was really surprised that he is still available, i.e. he just saw Basham as great value where we took him.
  18. Looks like 12-5 season to me, one loss in each group of games. Steelers, @Dolphins, WFT, Houston - We should be favorites in all four but I guess we might easily lose one of first three. Having Texans early for "easy" win is nice. @Chiefs, @Titans - Two tough games, splitting would be nice and I expect it. Dolphins, @Jaguars, @Jets, Colts - Easier part of the schedule, we should/could win all four, but its NFL. I guess we lose one here too. @Saints, Pats, @Bucs - All tough games, we need to prove we are good and win two. Panthers, @Pats, Falcons, Jets - Again, on paper we could win all, but one loss is expected. If we play on 2020 level anything between 11-6 and 14-3 is possible. 12-5 looks just about right.
  19. If that tweet is correct then we have Pats on the longest week possible.
  20. Both games vs Pats* in December if true. Seems consistent with other leaks (date of home game).
  21. If this is correct then we are basically repeating our worst part of season W5-W6 against KC and TEN, this time in reverse order, both on the road and both primetime. Interesting. Thanksgiving at NO and then lots of time to prepare for home MNF against Pats is amazing.
  22. Bills @ Saints at Thanksgiving? Wow https://twitter.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1392473878174306304?s=20
  23. Yeah this is nicely done by the NFL. Somebody won't be happy after the game
