  1. That's not true. Finish at 10-7 gives us 81% according to https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2021-nfl-predictions/ and 88% according to nytimes calculator. We are making playoffs.
  2. I just commented on this in other thread. I think it is fair to point out that Josh and offense failed to bring us back in 4th quarter against Steelers, Titans, Jags and Pats, and they had multiple chances in last two. And I think it is fair to say that some of that is on Josh. But I think people need to understand that there is some variance in it. Its a game of inches - better pass to Diggs (or maybe different wind?) on 2nd down yesterday and we won. Better execution by Knox on 3rd down and we won (and we are talking ONLY about great play by Allen). Better decision by Josh on 4th down (Beasley) and we won.* No QB gets it done all the time. Last year for example inches were on our side pretty often, for example in Rams, Dolphins or Pats games (hell even in Cards game in our last drive, until you know what). This year, no so much. Part of it is definitely on Josh, expectations are higher. But it will come sooner rather than later. We are not going to lose all close games, and that makes me feel pretty confident with playoffs getting closer. *I am simplifying things but I take for granted that if we scored TD on last drive yesterday the game was over or in OT at worst. Mac is not Brady and they would get to FG range at best.
  3. Well why don't we at least wait until regular season to find out who actually won AFCE?
  4. Allen is a great QB. He was very good yesterday. I think he was also part of the execution problem in RZ last drive (he missed Diggs on 2nd down and Beasley on 4th), but that is fine, nobody is perfect. He is due for 4the quarter comeback and that makes me actually feel good with playoffs getting closer. I think people underestimate how bad we are running this season from variance point of view. We had chances (sometimes multiple) and did not manage to execute 4th Q comebacks in all our losses except Indy, and that will not happen forever. We are not that bad, we are just very unlucky. I know I am in a minority but I think we can still turn this season around big time and Allen's ability is the biggest reason why. We just need Daboll to get better and all players execute a little better.
  5. Absolutely this. Problem was execution. We had wind in 1st Q and we did not capitalize. We could be up 14-0 and force Patriots to completely change their gameplan. We just didn't execute. Same with 4Q. Yes wind was a factor for Bass, but we still had tons of other plays and could've scored two TDs if we executed.
  6. Absolutely this. We can talk about not stopping the run or being soft team all day long, but the fact is that if we only executed one more extra TD in RZ in each game we would be 10-2 at worst at this point, more likely 11-1. And we had plenty of chances in the RZ.
  7. This could be really good TO if we convert.
  8. LETS GO punch it it somehow... Allen to Beas.
  9. If we run now on 1st down it will be first time ever I will be really mad with Daboll.
  10. This challenge only helps if defense rests and stops them now.
  11. Stop messing around and score a TD!
  12. Why are people blaming Edmunds when RB runs free next to Star?
  13. This is exactly what we need to do in the RZ. Great call and execution.
  14. Lol I see some of you guys are already in full form. Game is not over. Go Bills!
  15. Brutal punt. We need to capitalize in this quarter.
  16. Nice stop Dodson, nice play on 3rd lol. Go Bills!
  17. Make no mistake its impossible to forget how great Patriots are with you constantly reminding it everyone on this board for the last two weeks.
  18. Just like last year they were 10-4.
  19. Lol what a pick 6 by Brady.
  20. Eagles at Jets is quite entertaining and interesting game.
  21. I think this thread is exactly what was missing here.
  22. I think that your last sentence sort of contradicts what you wrote before. I don't remember that resigning Williams was in any way questioned before the season, I'd say we were all pretty happy. Predicting Dawkins decline was also nearly impossible, and I still believe covid is the main reason. I think it is really hard to question FO when it comes to tackles. They kept both above average starters on OL which was working last year, and added 3rd pick in Brown (who seems to be very good) and another developmental depth in Doyle. They also tried to add depth in Hart. As for guards, they resigned Feliciano, who was serviceable, and added Forrest Lamp who was experienced starter IIRC (I don't remember what went wrong with him). They had apparently some faith in Ford at guard and I struggle to blame them since he played a lot at tackle his rookie season and was injured a lot in the second season. They took a shot with Anderson in draft. I think people overestimate any GM's ability to upgrade IOL through FA. How many free agents were in fact available who would for sure upgrade our OL? How many of them were affordable? Would you overpay for any of them? I am not saying that it was impossible to do anything, I am just saying that options were extremely limited and you are competing with 31 other teams and have salary cap. Most glaring (only?) mistake seems to be taking Basham over Humphrey or maybe someone else in draft. I remember that I wanted IOL in the secound round after we took Rousseau and Humphrey seemed like a very obvious choice. But they probably felt that Basham was too big of a value not to take him, and I love this approach in general. Right now it seems that they misjudged their talent, and it also seems that even if they felt that Basham was BPA this was a place to deflect slightly from BPA and fill (very important) position of need. I guess/hope that they will learn from that. But yeah in general I am a huge fan of building an OL, even at expense of being worse elsewhere. So I hope next season Beane will be more active in this respect (and I am pretty sure he will). EDIT: Maybe they did not take Humphrey because they saw him as center only. I think he plays center for Chiefs, right? Was there anybody else worth taking in the second? Next OG taken was Wyatt Davis at 86 to Vikings.
