  1. Don't mess with a good thing. Dawkins is doing well and is only growing. Moving him to guard or right tackle is not a great idea. He is good enough to play left tackle, and so he will want to play left tackle. He will not want the demotion of being moved to guard or right tackle. That'll be a big issue come time to resign him, and I assume no one wants this to end with him walking away or him getting overpaid as a guard or right tackle. Besides, moving guys around the line is not as easy as everyone thinks. For example, Henderson was a terrible right tackle, but a mucccch better left tackle. That was where he spent his whole life, that is where he was comfortable, and he could never get used to switching sides.
  2. You really do set yourself up for dissappointment if you think this team was in a win-now mode. It never was. That is why they got rid of Tyrod. This was about pushing through and developing Allen.
  3. Props to the OP
  4. So are you saying that he should have been tossed, not just flagged for the play? Either way, refs didn't exactly "ignore" him, did they?
  5. Cute. But the thread title says "refs ignore edelman," which, of course, they didn't because they flagged him.
  6. What am I missing. The refs didn't ignore it; there was a flag on this play?
  7. I swear, portions of this fan base deserved every minute of the drought.
  8. A person who is trying to get a team over a 17 year playoff drought. If that wasn't the plan, they probably would have drafted a QB early. I have literally thought that was plan since day 1.
  9. I mean, don't we need to save our playoff chances???? haha. For real, this is all very dramatic.
  10. Yeah, but I think every fan wishes for more insight. But we pay coaches not to be fans, to make smart media relations decisions. If he gives that insight, and he then misspeaks or is too honest, he will be crucified by the media and the fans. I mean, that is exactly what happened to Whaley. At the end of the day, the fans are pissed and nothing he says is going to make it better. It can only make it worse. It is a no win scenario. His best bet is always to stay tight lipped.
  11. This is exactly right. Frankly, its obviously right. I knew this last year, I knew it going into the season, and I for the life of me cannot see how everyone doesn't see it now.
  12. A coach that cries to the media is far and away the worst type to have.
  13. Look harder. He gets heated often.
  14. It couldn't bother me less. He would be a fool to speak in the heat of the moment with anymore detail. Hell, Jackson was just made a fool for doing that same thing and now he doesn't have a job. He does not owe the fans anything. At all. What he says to the media is obviously not what he says to the team. That is all that matters.
  15. Stop, no body thought Robert Woods was the player he is until he got to LA. Zay is a dead ringer for Robert Woods.
  16. Hindsight is such a cop out. You are the worst kind of fan.
  17. So this whole thread is about Beane. Beane wasn't here when those decisions were made. In fact, we had a lame duck GM. So your solution is to invest the future in the franchise (and McDermotts future as a coach) in a QB that hasn't been vetted by your people? QBs who almost universally were considered highly flawed prospects?
  18. Sure, you can always draft a QB in the 2nd, 3rd round, etc. But to get a good QB, you have to draft high. To make the playoffs and then draft high you have to trade up. Do you know what you trade up with? Draft picks! Draft picks you acquire from trading guys like Watkins and Glenn!
  19. Literally what I think when I read threads like these!
  20. Lol. People throw around this term "ego" like they have any idea what it means. Every decision is "ego" driven. You make a move because YOU think it is the right move to make. It was the right move to make. He did what he had to do to get his QB. That is how you build an NFL offense. He made the right move. Its not about immediate gratification. It is about long term goal. This is nothing more than the rumblings of petulant children.
  21. It was pretty good, but it was also aging. His decisions weren't that tough. He knew that you cannot build an offense without a QB. He did what he had to get the QB, planned to sit him this year (sacrificing this year) and then build around him. Not only is that not difficult to comprehend, it reflects a long term, sensible strategy.
  22. I feel as though everyone on the board saw it coming, the national commentators saw it coming, etc. You really set yourself up for this. I literally feel exactly how I thought it would feel going into the year. And I have always been comfortable with the plan. A plan I always knew was coming. You are being super dramatic.
  23. I don't see them moving him. The modern NFL defense only plays two LBs. Milano is doing too well at OLB for the Bills to play games with Edmunds. If they drafted another MLB, I think it would only be for depth.
