Bojo needs to go !!

Well, its not like he had the yips. He had an injured hip last year. That will affect your accuracy, and it explains why the accuracy problem happened at the end of the year and not the start. Plus, the guy has been in the league for like ten years and is in the top ten list of most accurate kickers all time. It isn't that crazy of an extension. -

Murphy is nice, but I don't think he gets picked up if we cut him. I don't think the same is true of Yeldon. I think they keep Yeldon because they know they can always pick Murphy back up. -

Do you want to know how i know its childish? Because outside of sports, in the real world, and in the professional world, people don't say things like "that is just an excuse." They are calm, calculated, and tempered. When I hear people say things like, I know I am speaking to someone who does not work in a high stakes professional environment. -

My guess is you have never been accused of being a smart man. Dismissing explanations as "excuses" is childish. That really is a red flag for me that I'm speaking to an immature person. You are advocating that McDermott fire the staff and hire his own to do in a matter of months what every other team in the league does in a year. If you can't understand how asinine that suggestion is, there is really no helping you. -

Mahomes and Allen were similar prospects. If Mahomes came out Allen's year, I would have no problem with picking Mahomes over Allen. He literally did. They got Trey (and others) and made the playoffs. What would be asking too much is that make the career defining pick without HIS team. He made the most of that draft. But, inevitably, the QB he picks will define his time with the Bills and his reputation as a coach. Picking a QB half bind would have been breathtakingly negligent. He will not get a second bite at that apple. He gets one shot. So when he takes that shot, he needed to be ready with his staff and his guys, so that he has alllll the information he needs. -

I am watching for two reasons only: 1) back up WR jobs 2) Christian Wade. he won't make the team, but man is he fun to watch. -

Then why do teams have GMs? Why does the scouting department not overlap with the coaching? Why do so few people make the jump from one to the other? Sure, a science teacher and a math teacher do the same thing, and they even generally understand what the other does. But they have their specialties, and there is a reason they don't do both. You rely on the GM for specialized knowledge the coach doesn't have. Sure, the coach has a general understanding, but that isn't specialized. And, lazy take? There isn't anything "lazy" about it. -

I hope they weren't. If they acted with that little professional ethics I would not want them running this team. However, their behavior since taking over tells me that is not their M.O. It would be highly improper if they communicated before the move (especially in light of the Rooney rule, which I think also applies to GMs), and I have a difficult time believing they did. -

Fine, lets say he wasn't raw. He still was not the sure fire prospect you are pretending he was. MOREOVER, we did not have a GM! Do you recommend teams draft the player that will define the next 3 years without a GM or executive staff? -

Mahomes was not a better prospect. You are looking at it in hindsight. In any event, even if that weren't true, drafting a QB without your GM and the staff you trust is farrrrrr more dangerous. That is more so a recipe for failure. -

McD is a coach, not a QB elevator. The guy they planned to hire and trust to evaluate the position wasn't with the team. We are not talking about a guarantee. Drafting your franchise QB is always a gamble. Even the best prospects fail half the time, and Mahomes was farrrrr from the best prospect. It would be insane to make that gamble under those circumstances. -

JoshAllenHasBigHands replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
McD came in and entered the draft knowing that the GM would not be with the team moving forward. That means his career would be tied to the next GM and ultimately the QB they picked together. To pretend this career defining context is not a thing or does not matter is mind boggling. -

It’s the narrative, man. Zay has a reputation for drops. So, now, whenever he drops a ball in the game, people walk away from the game feeling like he dropped multiple passes. Or, if an uncatchable ball is thrown at him, he is blamed for a drop, even though a catch would have required a super human play. They lose the ability to see and remember objectively what happened. -

I am pretty sure that if you compare their first two years, Zay has outperformed Woods. Edit: Turns out woods was way better his rookie year. Not so much his second year. -
Tight End vs Possession WR. Discuss.
JoshAllenHasBigHands replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are right. WRs do not line up inline. That is different. But, Jason Croom and Duke Williams have very similar skill sets. So, what is to stop Duke from putting his hand in the ground and pretending to be a TE? Facially, it seems ridiculous. But, if Duke goes and blocks the DE with the Tackle, he will be just as successful as Croom would. Maybe I'm exaggerating how bad Croom is, but I think its worth considering. In any event, a TE that can't block inline is a pretty worthless TE. Teams can still line up a DB on the guy, just because they know that even if he blocks, he will not be effective. -
Cant stand Aaron Rodgers.

Tight End vs Possession WR. Discuss.
JoshAllenHasBigHands replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is such an awkwardly discussed topic because people fundamentally do not understand the TE position past that they are pass catchers. To be clear: a TE that cannot block is just a big bodied WR. A TE that cannot block, who is still called a TE, provides no more versatility than your average TE. This is the primary reason I think Croom is soooo useless. He cannot block, and he is half the WR Duke is. That being said, if we see Duke cut in favor of a TE, it should be because the coaches value the scheme versatility the TE provides over Duke's pass catching. -
The defense is good. That is for sure. But we will also be a top 5 defense based simply on the offenses we are playing. None of the real heavy hitters are on our schedule. No KC, no Rams, not even Houston. The toughest offenses we face all year are the Pats, the Eagles (arguably), and the Steelers. I would be shocked if we did not have a top 5 defense.

Mostly because the Allen takes are dumb. If you’re getting hate, you aren’t getting “hate,” you are being made fun of.
