  1. Ok. This is getting to be a bit much. His first year here he rushed for almost 900 yards (4.4 y/a) and caught 300 yards in only 12 games. His second he rushed for 1250 (5.4 y/a) (13 TDs) and caught 350. His third he rushed for 1138 (4.0 y/a) and caught 450. He did this on terrrrrrible offensive teams. McCoy was awesome for us, and there is no way around that.
  2. I mean, we may as well. There isn't a ton of continuity on this line. I'm sure that some combo will eventually emerge as the best, and that will end up being the starting line.
  3. Oooooh interesting stuff. I wonder what the passing yards were for the 100 yard rusher games.
  4. Yeah, I see why you think that. I was unclear. I was trying to convey that outside of last year, in the years prior, he accounted for a majority of the team's yards.
  5. He sucked last year; hence, my comment that I don't put a lot of stock in last year.
  6. I don't put a ton of stock in last year. In any event, when you consider McCoy's rushing and passing stats together, he accounted for the majority of the team's yards.
  7. At this point in the season, the "best available" is almost guaranteed to be a below "ordinary" guy. He probably deserves a try out as much as anyone.
  8. That is fair. The only context I would add is that he was our WHOLE offense. In isolation, he looked average. That is fair. But, it is not like their was any offense around him. His production accounted for a greater percentage of our overall yards compared to other running backs in their respective offenses.
  9. You are right! And, every year I am squarely within your camp. This is the first time that I have ever said the first game of the year is a must win. I am sure that by the end of the season, I will look back and think it was a silly opinion. But, at the moment, with our schedule, and all of our "progress," I continue to believe we need this one. Not only to get to the playoffs, but to establish that we have actually improved.
  10. I don’t believe in paying RBs any more, but in today’s NFL RBs are just as much pass catchers as rushers. You can’t judge shady solely on the rushing stats. He was one of our best pass catchers as well.
  11. If we can’t beat a terrible Jets team, we are no where near good enough to make the playoffs.
  12. The Jets are not a good team. They are closer to 6 wins than 10. If we don’t beat the jets, it will be because we have not gotten better to the degree we all hoped.
  13. At this point it looks like they are going to give another shot. It seems like there aren't a bunch of better options. Even the guy from NE isn't an upgrade.
  14. They have a better front four, maybe. But, after that, their defense is a mess. Their secondary is in shambles and their star LB can't play on passing downs. Our unit is likely to be top five, theirs is likely to be bottom ten. On offense, I don't think theirs is better at all. Bell is the prized jewel, and he hasn't taken a snap in a year and a half. Their WR corps is about par with ours, and their line is still just OK. I mean, their starting center was retired a few months ago.
  15. How are the Jets and Bills evenly matched for talent? We have way more talent on the defense than they do. I'd argue our offense is a bit more talented as well, but reasonable minds can differ. Plus, they have a brand new head coach. I think it is a must win just because this is one of the easier games on the schedule. The type of game you need to win to get to 10.
  16. So it was a knee to the head. This board talked a lot of smack about him being out after the 3rd day of practice, implying that a strong breeze could give him another concussion. This always seemed dramatic. The fact that it was a knee to his head proves that it still required a unique, inordinate type of hit to give him this concussion.
  17. Take the L, man. You got exposed on this thread. Maybe the next one will be better.
  18. What does “asymmetric” mean?
  19. I am pretty sure he is also Josh Allen's best friend. Take that for what its worth.
  20. That’s still more than the last RB and WR. And, it’s not like we are hurting for money. Value isn’t really an issue.
  21. Not considering special teams, that is already more than the last two RBs and last WRs in the roster. And, come on, you going to ignore the Pats and Chiefs, the two offenses with the most sustained success in the NFL? Do they also drive horse and buggies?
  22. He got a sixth round pick. That is crazy.
  23. Yes, a job they chose when they were essentially children, with the world pressuring them to make that choice, that puts them in a position where they spend there whole lives training for it, leaving them without any other options, that in the end leaves them with nothing. Definitely their own fault. Definitely nothing to feel bad for. People suck, man. Peoples' dreams are coming to an end. It is wayyyyy more than "just part of the job"
  24. Lol. Solid reasoning here. It should be the guy that does the best job. True. But, we have one guy. So cutting the current guy leaves us with nothing. You aren't even advocating a competition of some sort. [Moderator Edited for content]
