  1. I honestly think Phillips will be better than Oliver this year. Obviously, I don' think that will be true next year and thereafter. But rookies aren't often game changers. It happens, we can all give lots of examples, but its sort of a crap shoot.
  2. Yeah, I suppose it is complicated by the fact that he ran for some many touchdowns. I think most people talk about Allen's improvement, and what they are really saying is he needs to be a better passer. If he hit that passing TD increase, it would be an unprecedented improvement. If you are talking about passing and rushing TDs, I suppose I don't think it is out of the question.
  3. You realize your definition of "well" in terms of TDs would put him at second in the NFL in TDs in 2018? Your definition of just "OK" would put him top 10. Woof. High bar.
  4. Anything less and it will be time to look to the draft. I will further claim that I pounded the table for Mahomes, even thought their is no documented evidence this is true.
  5. If you don't like predictive analysis you are really not gonna enjoy your time on a message board.
  6. Why is it that when fans discuss wide receivers they just pretend it does not matter who the QB was that threw it to them?
  7. Kickoff cannot get here soon enough.
  8. I was waiting for that. I realized that typo after I hit send. Still, the fact they didn’t pre-53 IR or settle tells you what you need to know.
  9. Nope. Just wrong based on the fact he is still in the NFL. But I can’t do this all night. Enjoy the last word. Good luck, seems like you have a tough life ahead of you.
  10. Sure it is. You’re the one who said he shouldn’t be in the nfl. I said he should. Guess who is right here? Let it go guy.
  11. Why do you need to be right so bad? We had an agreed to disagree moment. If you really need this, I’ll give you a W. You seem to desperately need it.
  12. He has a one year contract. Cut or IR, it doesn’t make a difference. But if they put him on the IR after the 53, they get to bring him back after 8 weeks. If what you are saying is true, there is no benefit to IRing him instead of cutting him. You gave to understand the IR rules to get this.
  13. Oh good, conspiracy theories. This thread is going well.
  14. Why do you think they needed to claim a QB. The injury happened before waivers. You have to twist yourself in a serious pretzel to believe this. It would have been much easier to just cut him.
  15. You know he brought in the extra qb when peterman went on IR, right?
  16. This is easily the dumbest argument I’ve ever had on this board. You got me, rather than be a top 5 back for his time in buffalo, he was only a top 7 back for three out of his four years. You are right, that is just good. That is why you find running backs with that sustained success all over the nfl.
  17. The evidence on the field is that his O-Line couldn't protect him and his receivers couldn't run good routes or not tip the ball. Same thing a super bowl winning coach saw. Please forgive me for thinking it is more likely he is right than you. I know that may seem crazy, but I am not persuaded by your "eye test."
  18. Gunner, I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish here. You think he doesn't belong in the NFL. I think people have over exaggerated what happened to him and that he does belong in the NFL. A Superbowl winning coach agrees with me (and not you). What else is there to discuss here?
  19. It is almost as if we are debating a question that has no answer.
  20. That is fair, don't get me wrong. I'm not sure those trades were just about talent. He has ten years, and I get the impression he wants things to go a certain way. I realize this is a what have you done for me lately, but Gruden deserves a ton more respect than he gets. The fans and media are short sighted. That is why they tend to be on the wrong side of history so often. Lastly, there is nothing I trust less than a message board's fan's "eye test." There is no reason in the world to think you have any idea what you are looking at. No offense. Just to add to this: It is better to know what you don't know than to be overconfident. The fan "eye test" is the ultimate example of overconfidence.
  21. That is true. But apparently a Superbowl winning coach agrees with my assessment. And you really only have your message board credentials. I suspect I'm on the right side of this one.
  22. Honestly, I thought it was such a dumb argument I didn't think I needed to look up stats to establish how important McCoy was to this team. He did more for this team between 2015 and 2017 than any other back during that same period outside of Zeke. Here are more stats. In the two seasons he was healthy for the full year, 2016 and 2017, he provided 28 and 33% of this teams offense. For zeke, his healthy seasons in 2016 and 2018, he provided 33 and 36% of his teams offense. Zeke was better for sure, but outside of Zeke, no other back is doing that.
  23. This is so blown out of proportion. For his five interception game, the first interception was a tipped ball, the second he was hit as he threw, the third he was hit as he threw, the fourth was on him, and the fifth the receiver ran the wrong route. Peterman doesn't deserve nearly as much hate as he gets.
