  1. The metric is whether a tackle can hold the block for 2.5 seconds. I guess that is the magic number. He may have gotten beat, but he hit that 2.5 second mark, apparently.
  2. That is the equivalent of: I don't need to do any research, I know global warming is fake because its cold outside.
  3. I've always thought that fans suggesting bulletin board material was stupid. I have never seen a coach actually post this kind of stuff at the facility before.
  4. I have never heard of a team actually doing this. I really like it.
  5. "based on preseason" ... "I [don't] sit around and analyze tape" Nice
  6. Words have meaning, man. This is what rhetoric is all about. I don’t think you’re dumb, so I assume you know better than to dismiss the point as a narrative. Or, maybe you’ve just become so defensive because you have pigeon-holed yourself into a bad take.
  7. The mention of 5 targets implies that the 3 non-catches were related to him. If not, why even mention it? You see why that framing taints so much of what you're up to? A person not knowing any better would be led to an incorrect conclusion.
  8. The article is why it is so important to look at the tape and not rely on real-time reactions/the stat sheet.
  9. Meh, these are what they are. These guys can't watch every game before these things are published. How can this every be a fair assessment?
  10. You would be taken more seriously if you did not do things like criticize Zay for not catching three of the balls thrown his way on Sunday. Your arguments, as well laid out as they are, always seem to be littered those gross mis-characterizations.
  11. What is everyone's problem with DiMarco. I understand his "limitations." But, the offense, even with him on the field, moved the ball better than the Bills have done in years. Certainly as well as Allen has ever moved the offense. If that is consistently replicated, let them do their thing. They are obviously on to something. So much focus is put on DiMarco's ability as a receiver. Almost never is any serious consideration is given to how it allows Allen to read the defense. This is BY FAR the most important element here, as it eases the pressure of Allen's decisions--the area he lacked the most last year.
  12. TEs are just as easily lined up against Safeties as LB. The same is not true of a full black lined up behind the QB.
  13. So you would rather 7 in the box, with one dB, than 6 in the box? You think that is an easier front to run against?
  14. That just isn't true, you are replacing a LB (who was on DiMarco) with a DB (who is on the WR) who is in turn lining up close to the box. Once the run comes, the defense has an extra player to make the tackle. Adding the WR doesn't remove a guy from the box. Motioning DiMarco outside, however, removes a run defender from the box. ALSO, if the defense is playing zone, it means there is a DB on DiMarco, leaving a LB/safety on a WR somewhere else, thereby creating a mismatch.
  15. This is not a true statement. DiMarco split out, it allowed Josh to ID the coverage with ease, and opened up easy throws elsewhere. In the alternative, it removes a linebacker from the box, and opens up Singletary for an easier run (Josh just didn't go for it).
  16. Really? 1. There were run calls in the first half--Allen just checked out of them. 2. Josh's worst throws were in the second half, when they played the offense you are calling for. I am talking about his two near interceptions. 3. They moved the ball as well, if not better, in the first half, with DiMarco (who had 50% of snaps, btw). They got burned by fluke turnovers that could literally have happened in any offensive formation. Fumble, tipped off Beasley, etc. I understand your point. My gripe is with the poster. But, you are right, I came out hot.
  17. When someone says something like this, I see a guy that doesn't read up on the Bills. That doesn't follow Cover1, Sal C., YPP, etc. A guy that doesn't actively try to learn about the game or the Bills game plan. I see a guy that is ok talking out of his A**
  18. And now I can't find who I had the back and forth with. The guys argument was essentially that Oliver had never seen top tier talent, and that guys from non-power 5 conferences rarely if ever pan out.
  19. Maybe I am thinking of someone else. I thought it was him that I got into a heated back in forth with a couple months ago about Oliver. If it isn't, that is big-time my bad.
  20. He is definitely small, but he has demonstrated he is also reallllly strong. That sort of cancels out the downfalls of his size.
  21. Even though the tackles are occasionally getting beat, it is so nice not having to deal with the inside pressure. Watching Josh step up into the pocket was electric. In the fourth (?) quarter when Josh hit Brown on the crossing pattern after stepping up into the pocket, with the outside rusher coming free, I thought for the first time I was looking at a legitimate franchise quarterback. I have not believed more that this team is turning the corner. We finally got Josh the help he needed, and I firmly believe he will develop into a franchise quarterback.
  22. For a really good explanation, check out Sal C.'s twitter account.
