  1. Ford playing guard this year is starting to feel like one of those fan speculation things that people start to convince themselves is inevitable because they only discuss it in echo chambers. Meanwhile, by this time next year, we will realize there was never any chance that was going to happen.
  2. That is quite the non sequitur.
  3. You make sports less fun
  4. You know, this makes perfect sense and all, but this is supposed to be "our year." Maybe not to go all the way, but to see what this team really is. The year JA takes that next step, etc. I'd sort of prefer the tougher competition.
  5. Well, he has proven he can take a team to the playoffs. Not exactly nothing.
  6. I would agree with them if there was any downside to extending McDermott. But there is literally nothing.
  7. Well, I can tell you at least some players have already taken to instagram to congratulate McDermott. That means something. Probably means more than the risk the Pegulas suddenly become worried about firing a head coach (which hasn't been the case to date).
  8. Totally fair. But what is the downside? What is the negative consequence of extending him?
  9. Pros: commitment; signals to players/coaches consistency; locked down a very good coach; signifies the lock step approach of the entire organization. Cons: None. The Bills can literally fire him at the end of the season. This isn't like cutting a player. There are no cap ramifications. For what its worth, if there were some downside to extending him, I would say doing so now was unnecessary.
  10. No need for that. They are both really good at their jobs.
  11. Wow. When is the last time we extended a head coach?
  12. Just wanted to comment "like," because hitting the button didn't convey just how spot on this analysis is.
  13. Its just a risk calculus. No need to act like what he is proposing is either extreme or unusual.
  14. "Structural/systemic/institutional racism" are just fancy terms used to describe disparate impact, which piggy backs off the vitriol of intentional racism to give the impression that they are the same. They are not. With that in mind, if you think there is not "systemic racism" in our police, you are wrong. Where things get off track is the belief that because there is a disparate impact the police deserve to be treated like "racists," in the classic sense of the term.
  15. To be fair, that would be a more fair rule.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those protected spots only protect players starting the Thursday (?) of any given week. In other words, those players are still unprotected Monday through Wednesday.
  17. As a fan, I love Thursday night football. From a players' perspective, its a no-brainer.
  18. If you really wanna mix it up, try yelling at the sun. Really shines a whole new light on the activity....
  19. That is what happened. The charges were dropped. A judge didn't rule on anything.
  20. Do we still think Cam is a "running" QB? It feels like that era is over...
  21. This year's practice squad signings will be revealing. Are the Bills relying on what they see in practice, or are their decisions based on scouting? I bet we will figure out real quick based on how many non-Bills PS signings they make. Also, and I say it because I don't think its mentioned anywhere else, how much does it suck we don't get to see Christian Wade this year?
  22. After years of being in that 10th pic range, this should be the answer for every Bills fan.
  23. You are more than justified in thinking Josh Allen may not pan out. That said, in practice, you do come off as pretty unreasonable about JA.
  24. The problem is that there is no objective field test for drugs. You functionally make people free to drive on drugs, without consequence.
