  1. Dany Snyder's playin with his X-Box 360 while Marv and Ralph are just putting the bow on their Gamecast....
  2. Not the twilight, Marv and Ralph gotta be there by 5 to hit the "Early-Bird Special" They'll toast the deal afterward over Melba Toast and Metamucil
  3. Why? we all knew that was gonna happen today.
  4. The reason that decision hasn't been made yet is because Owens' roster bonus isn't due until 5 days after free agency begins. They have no reason to release him earlier. Given what he did to them this year why should they do him any favors? The Eagles will release him today about 1 minute before that bonus comes due. Then T.O. can shop himself to whoever has money left. The Bills are either gonna keep Moulds or trade him to a team who will restructure his deal, there's no reason for them to cut him outright. Now that the CBA is done another team can trade for him and re-do his deal to lower his number. In the same respect the Bills are more than able to keep him for as long as they wish. If we end up needed that extra cap room we cut him then but not until then. There's no reason to give away any asset you don't have to, especially when it still has value to others. Don't underestimate the Eagles desire to get a WO right now, options are quickly drying up (they wanted Randle-El BAD) and if the Bills hang on to EM for awhile the Eagles might ship us a pick or two for his services.
  5. Wow, Collins managed to parlay SEVERAL years of complete inactivity into $450,000 cash. You have to admit, THAT is quality representation...
  6. T.O's going to the 'Felons and we should all be happy about it. He and Culpepper will be feuding by week #2. It doesn't matter who his QB is, they'll fight. He's already thrown Garcia AND McNabb under the bus and destroyed the fabric of both of those teams. Maybe they'll hold it together for one year, but by year two Miami will be disintegrating...rotten from within. BTW....IF by some unholy deal the BIlls DO bring TO to Buffalo I am putting everything away until he's gone. He is such a scumbag I absolutely refuse to support any team he plays for. Those who compared him to Bruce Smith are wrong, Bruce NEVER ripped apart the team, he only griped about money. The closest we ever came was Kelly v. Ballard/Thomas/Burkett. How fun was that year? Anyone else wanna go back to 1989?
  7. Miami's still way over the cap are they not? They've only made one move thus far and were something like 20 million over the number. If there's no agreement they aren't getting anybody let alone people like TO, Culpepper, and Bentley.
  8. I'm actually hoping they DON"T have an agreement by tonight. We're in a situation were it would help us tremendously if several teams have to purge their rosters. That would flood the market with veterans in a time where free cap dollars at at their smallest. That is a HUGE buyers market and that is exactly what the BILLS are right now. There would be bargain hunting galore and we could fill out our roster quite nicely. Of course I'd like a deal to be struck sometime in May, just after the draft so all the teams w/o cap room have to deal down and cut vets to make their draft picks. The weeks after that chaos would be a nice time to have another 10 million to spend to go after whoever is left and sign our draft picks. Don't get me wrong, this NEEDS to get done, but why not root to have it work out well for us?
  9. It's funny...had they gone to court noone would have cared about this. thats the problem i have, they got a parking ticket and A. didn't pay it B. didn't show up to court. You have to be braindead not to do one of those things just to keep the story out of the paper, whether you were "justified" in parking in the space or not. Apparently being hospitalized wasn't bad enough to keep McNabb from doing an appearance for which I am sure he got paid, and Trotter's excuse is crap, I'd love to get out of a ticket by saying there was construction so I had to do something illegal.
  10. We can all agree that DT was a top priority even before we cut Adams, now we need 2 top DTs which are expensive. Our personnel as it is now fits a 3-4 better than a 4-3. We can draft Ngata like everyone seems to want and sign a lower echelon FA (or 2) like Big Ted and Brenston Buckner to play 10-15 snaps a game. Anderson can slide to DE on 1st and second down and back to DT in nickel situations like Phil Hansen used to do. Schobel stays at one end and Anderson/Denney or someone like Kimo Von Olhoffen who the Steelers can't afford but who won't be expensive plays the other. Kelsay stands up and goes to rushbacker along with Posey. That puts Posey/Kelsay, Crowell, Fletcher and Spikes all in the game and lets us build our line with cheap veterans and a top rookie rather than having to spend top dollar on a DT AND draft a DT. Plus that lineup is extremely flexible, we can bring people from all over the field (a la New England recently). I actually think it will REDUCE the number of double teams that Schobel sees because there will be more people free to come from his side of the field. Previously Posey was basically nailed to his spot and wasn't asked to rush much at all, he anchored while TKO freelanced. With a 3-4 both guys can attack. We have lots of needs and if switching alignments can save us some money we should do it. This is part of why the 3-4 is good, linebackers are cheaper than good DTs and now you only need 1 instead of 2.
  11. For what it's worth the Philly media basically says anything to get readership/listeners. A couple years ago we were all wanting Steve Everett. The Eagles were in the hunt as well. Howard Eskin (a prominent Philly TV/radio guy and notorious blowhard) ripped the Eagles for an ENTIRE afternoon broadcast because, according to "his sources" Everett had spent the entire day in Buffalo where he had been wined and dined and he was probably going to sign with the Bills before the end of the day. Philly fans went nuts. The Eagles ended up signing him and surprise, surprise it turns out that not only was Everett not close to signing with Buffalo he'd never made a trip to WNY at all. The Philly media will basically do whatever it takes to get the Philly fans to pay attention, take anything that comes out of here with 2 grains of salt.
  12. I'm sure sure Bruce Smith has wonderful things to say about Dave Cadigan as well, given that Cadigan helped Bruce to break the bank several times... I see Runyan every week, he's done.
  13. Ted Washington at a nice bargain number....
  14. Runyan is shot, he's got one year, two at the most left and his contract will be longer than that. He looked bad this year and he's been consistently owned by better DE's he plays against. Strahan has made a career of bull rushing Runyan and speed rushers eat him for lunch.
  15. Maybe Wayne Fontes and Mouse Davis are still available...
  16. What exactly is the difference bewteen Pettigout and Gandy other than cost? Everyone seems to be in a hurry to replace Gandy and he wasn't that bad. It isn't as though every single RDE in the league feasted on us. Not to mention that LT's are the most expensive lineman out there. Since GFandy isn't a revolving door and we certianly have other needs can we PLEASE spend our money at LG and C first?
  17. Above average corner, perhaps even good. Shut-down Nate is not. Johnson, who apparently gave him kudos had what? 9 grabs for 126 and a TD off Clements this year? Chris Chambers had almost DOUBLE that in Miami #2 He's better than what we'd replace him with but I don't know if that makes him worth 8 mil per. Especially since, to me, he really seemed to mail in the 2nd half of the season. He was absoultely invisible.
  18. More importantly, Steve Smith had something like 16 catches in the first meeting between those 2 teams. In the playoff game they did absolutely nothing different even though Carolina was down to Nick Goings at RB. You can scheme to take away one guy. I was absolutely amazed that the Bears didn't make Carolina beat them with someone OTHER than Steve Smith. To be fair, that's the HC and DC's call not the DB coach so we don't know if Fewell would have played it the same way.
  19. I think Gates Orlando is available
  20. I wonder if they took the banner down yet that said Haslett was 50/50 to be our next HC... BTW, if it's taking him this long to make up his mind he doesn't want to be here and if he doesn't want to be here I don't want him anyway. Go get me someone who's excited to be coming to our team.
  21. Whatever, Toronto fans are the new age Ranger fans. Bitter at everyone and everything. The Leafs haven't won a cup in the entire time the Sabres have existed, in my book we're tied at zero. Of course you have to make it to the Cup final to Win a cup and since Toronto hasn't done THAT either maybe it's Buffalo 2 Toronto 0... Since the Leafs haven't won in almost 40 years you have to wonder where the arrogance comes from...you don't hear a lot of talk about obnoxious Blackhawk fans...of course they've been to a Cup final more recently than Toronto too....
  22. Uhm...not to quibble but we played w/o Briere (our best player), Connolly (our #2 scorer), Mair (our Darcy Tucker), Teppo Numminen (our #1 offensive defenseman) last night and this was Dumont's second game back after 2 months. For the love of God, at one point we'd gotten all the way down to Jiri Novotny, the next call was to Jody Gage I swear... BTW, if Lindros and Tucker are two of a team's best forwards they need better forwards. McCabe is the man though.
  23. If you honestly beleive that our defense was ACTUALLY one of the best 3 defenses in the league I think you are the one that needs to pass the dutchie my friend. Our defense was quite possibly the single most overrated thing in football over that time frame. We sucked on 3rd down the whole time. We sucked in big games the whole time. We were NEVER a lights out defense. What difference does it make if your defense shuts down the opposition for an entire game only to give up a killer drive at the end that loses the game? What difference does it make if you have the #2 (ranked) defense and you get LIT UP by the 3rd and 4th string Pittsburgh offense in a game that cost you the playoffs? Seriously BRIAN ST PIERRE looked like Roethlisberger that day. The REAL #2 defense in the NFL doesn't lose that game...at least not because of the defense. Here's how much those rankings are worth... in 2002-2004 New England was ranked 23rd, 7th, and 9th while we we ranked 15th, 2nd, and 2nd. Was our defense that much better than New England's? I don't think so. Here's what i go by Points per game. Buffalo 2002-2004 24.8, 17.4, 17.8 New England 2002-2004 21.6 14.9, 16.3 In '03 New England was "ranked" 5 spots below us but we gave up almost a field goal a game more than they did. Who was a better defense? NFL rankings are based on yards and yards are crap. Points win and lose games. By PPG Buffalo was ranked 27th, 5th, 8th, and then 24th this year. The best year was '03 when Dick leBeau was here
  24. I agree with you that the Rams looked a lot different when Fairchild was calling the plays. We'll see I guess. Part of it is the taint of Martz and his pass-manic offense and his parade of shattered QBs, and part of it is the taint of Huckleberry The Idiot (GW) and his "teachers" who collectively could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch. Apparently we are the 2nd chance organization right now, so what the heck...
  25. I'm not holding my breath... Maybe we'll bring in Georgia Frontiere...we have every other old Ram
