  1. Article on DC schools. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5080501713.html Of note, 81 schools in DC have failed so badly they kids are eligible to transfer elsewhere. Yes there are charter schools in DC with a good rep, but it is pretty competative to get into them. Some other stories from downtown: Boy Found Bound, Slain in Home http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5071800477.html SE Teen Charged in Death Caused by an Errant Bullet http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5082400825.html
  2. He doesn't live in a co-op. In fact until Ron Brown died, Brown was his neighbor. And there is so much in the Burbs, and a lot better schools and safer I would never ever recommend someone live in DC. Ever.
  3. And see I think between Atl, Car, and TB, that Atlanta is the more winnable game. Thats what makes us all different. BTW, I too like Edwards. I don't know about Anderson. The only real issue with Edwards is that he is quick and has at times shown that he doesn't have the discipline to stay at home like Williams did. With Adams and Edwards both liking to shoot gaps, the LBers could get a lot of olinemen on them quickly and some big runs. I am not pessimistic. I think 6-10 or better would be good for this team and will allow JP to grow. I would be satisfied if he does that.
  4. Nope. Friends do, in Georgetown. They actually have votes on who is allowed to buy houses there, at monthly meetings.
  5. No offense but the public school system in DC is the bottom of the barrel. Makes Mississipi schools look like Harvard. Crime is horrendous unless you live in the "closed" neighborhoods where the politicos live and then you're looking at million dollar homes or more. DC over all is a blight. Except for a couple of over priced areas.
  6. Good point on Simon/AKC. I see a little drop off on the dline, as I have pointed out before. There were times last year when it seemed like teams could just flat out run whenever they wanted on us. It seems to me losing Williams will make that even more often. I can see where some would predict 8-8, 9-7. I just think TB is better then a lot of folks give them credit for, plus it's in their house. I see 3-3 in division. We beat NO, Oak, and maybe Hous. Beyond that I think the other teams are just a little ahead of us, and not confident in winning any of those.
  7. I am being nice. Weren't me who started. Of course being nice doesn't mean I can't be objective about the Bills and their chances, does it?
  8. Problem is, you do nothing else. Show me where you have contributed any brilliance here, beyond saying Losman is great?
  9. Actually I am pretty familiar with more than Q town area. The wife has relatives in Lake Ridge and Lorton area, so we scoot around there a lot. Plus the wife works in Alexandria and I get up that way on weekends about once a month.
  10. South of the beltway, you have to deal with the crush in the morning, going to the Pentagon. That is usually from about 0600-0730. It clears south of the beltway after that, and you figure you'll do 30+ mph on the highway after that. In the afternoon the crush start about 1600 and last until about 1800. Before or after that isn't bad. I live near Quantico, and take the train. My wife works a modified schedule 1030 - 1900 in Alexandria and for the most part gets to and from work in 30 minutes or so.
  11. Sorry, I don't wear rose colored glasses. We are not playing the NFC West again this year. We are playing TB, NO, Car, and Atl. So even if we split all the games in our division and go 3-3, we still have those 4 games, Hous, Oak, KC, SD, Denv, and Cincy. That's not an easy schedule, and other then NO, and KC, there isn't a terrible defense there. Tell me where you think we win more then 6 games?
  12. Stop it isn't real bad until you get to the beltway. Unless there is a bad accident. The Franconia is nice because there are seven or eight alternates.
  13. No, Quantico to Franconia, without traffic is about 20 miles. Woodbridge is about 10 miles. Off peak those are doable in under 20 minutes. During rush hour, 45 minutes from Quantico, and about 25 from Woodbridge. For the Quantico drive it depends on accidents and how badly it backs up at Dale City.
  14. This constant following me around and harrassment is getting real old. You don't like the message, and facts go elsewhere.
  15. Just looking at it with open eyes. Oline issues still questions on dline still don't trust Mcgee at corner question at TE still raw, young Qb If we win more then 6 games, I will be very happy with the team, and our progress. We do however have a good overall defense, good special teams, and good WR's.
  16. This is the thread that never ends, it goes on and on my friend.
  17. Oh look it's my new hangnail. Your so cute. Do you even know what you're talking about? Can you contibute anything to the board beyond your hate?
  18. Too easy of a target. Got to make him work for it a little.
  19. Have you seen Curtis play? Or a 2nd year QB, first year starter play in a real game yet?
  20. I believe only one person on that list is in the Hall of Fame, so obviously the people who know football, knows who is great.
  21. And you went to that instead of eating sandwiches and getting a copy of the game?
  22. Not me, I never learned it.
  23. Why not, I hear on ones teams message board that their 2nd year QB, 1st year starter is lightyears better then the vet the team got rid of who had been to 4 pro bowls and 2 super bowls.
