So let me give everyone a choice: You can either have a pretty good college career, go undrafted, get a 'real job' and always be proud that you played to a decent degree in college. Or you can enter the NFL, play a few games, be terrible, become a laughing stock, end up out of the league and always be remembered not for a respectable college career but for 7 ints and a 0.0 qb rating. But you get 500k in your back pocket. Even a million in your back pocket. I honestly think I'd rather take the college career and become an office drone.

Without reading any replies yet and discounting those I didn't see play like Otto Graham and Unitas, I'd have to say (off the top of my head): Montana Brady Elway Manning Favre Favre is a weird one for me as I'm guessing not many will have him in their list. But for me Favre was the greatest QB to watch. I just loved him. I also think he was one of the most naturally gifted QBs I've ever seen, some of the throws he made were like no one else. He played like a kid who was just enjoying it out there. Got annoying the last few years when he kept retiring and unretiring but he's one of those guys that when he's been gone a few years you really start to see the hole he's left. Montana I've always thought is the greatest. I still think he's better than Brady. Different eras so hard to judge, and you can say both guys had his own advantages, but the way I come to my decision is easy: Someone has a gun against my head and says, "it's the final drive of the Super Bowl, you have to get a touchdown to win otherwise I'm going to blow your brains out. You can choose one QB from history to go out and take the snaps. Who do you choose?" I can honestly say I would 100% pick Joe Cool. Brady would be second but Montana is my undisputed number one.

Some great names mentioned. Have to say one of the great ones I feel sorry for is Joe Thomas, being stuck on an awful team all those years. Reminds me of Barry Sanders - an all time great who just never had the talent around him. Though at least Barry went to a championship game once. Someone should create a greatest team of all time made up of players who spent almost their entire career on bad teams.

I don't have any gifs, but try to imagine how you'd feel if you were waiting for a blind date to arrive at the restaurant when two women suddenly walked through the door and looked in your direction at the same time - one is hot as hell and the other looks like she'll eat you if her dessert doesn't arrive on time.

I tell you what about Tasker, a lot of people find him quite annoying as a media guy and I can see why. He does stumble and mumble his way through things a lot. I don't like him on TV but think he's much better on the radio. But the main thing that always strikes me is what a seriously nice, humble guy he seems to be. He's so down to earth on the radio show, never seems arrogant, doesn't **** on peoples' opinions when they call in. And every time arrogant Murph seems to disagree with every point Tasker makes, he never pulls out the "well I've played the game" line. You wouldn't even realise he was a former player if you didn't know who he was. I especially admire the way he is with Murph considering the fact that he's a former athlete in consideration for the HOF while Murphy looks like the only exercise he's ever had is when he reaches up to wipe the barbeque sauce off his chin.

I was thinking about this today when someone was talking about how the Jets have improved. I thought why the hell can't the Bills get to that stage where they look like a genuinely good up and coming young team? In this day and age of the salary cap and parity we should have at least reached this stage at some point over the last couple of decades, but we always look like a rag tag bunch, perfect for the football equivalent of a Major League movie but frustrating as hell as a fan. The losing itself is bad enough but at least lose in an entertaining way, scoring some points and making big plays. The Bills are always so dreary. If we were a weather we'd be sleet, if we were a music we'd be John Denver and if we were a colour we'd be beige.

Can you even have a five year plan these days? At that rate your rookies will be leaving their contracts for other teams. Need to be quicker. In an ideal world their moves on the defense will start to pan out some time this season so they can add a few more pieces via FA in the offseason and then use a majority of their draft picks, plus a couple more FA signings on the offense. Of course, this is predicated on Josh Allen panning out. If that happens they'll have a chance to really jump up the rankings next year and make a playoff push. The problem is if the defense continues to be as horrific as it was yesterday, because then you can't concentrate entirely on the offense. Though if it were me I would do that anyway. We need to score points and actually have a pass attack.

And if he'd pulled Allen after one quarter he would have been criticized for not giving him a whole half with the starters, as was the plan. Some people would have said he obviously thought Allen wasn't looking good and so pulled the plug on him, others would have accused him of being over-protective and instead throwing Peterman to the wolves. Maybe he left Allen in for the second quarter because he wanted to see how he'd handle the adversity he saw in the first quarter. In fact I believe if he hadn't hit his head at the end of the half he might have even put him out there for one series after halftime, just to give him the experience of that.
